It didn't work with secondary group !!
I create another group which allowed members post html code. Then selected members from registered users, who are allowed to post html code by adding the secondary group above. => That doesn't work . The question is : how do I allow some members to post html code with this hack ???? |
I doesn't work with Preview page !!! Any idea ???

There should be 2 "bbcode_parse_start" hooks. On my system, one of them was disabled by default. After enabling it, the "Preview" page started to work properly. I tested on VB 3.6.2. Regards, Razvan |
After the installation there are codes which I have posted in HTML boxes ([html]<!-- HTML code -->[/html]) like this:

I have checked the option in the control panel, and it does say HTML ON in the bottom of the screen....... But, when i try posting html, it doesnt work. HTML works if i change the forum properties. But, not with this hack |

HTML Code:
<a href="http://somepage.name" target="_top"> Page </a> |
Tested on 3.6.4 and it works :D
I have a problem, don't know if its as a result of using this hack or vbulletin itself. What happens is, After posting tables iamges etc... if I try to Advance edit it, or select the alternative view (the one which shows you the post code) all table codes are gone so after saving the editing, The pots loses all its structure Example: Before HTML Code:
<table border=3 width=100% bordercolor=#1066FF bgcolor=#FFFFFF cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0><tr><td width=100% colspan=3><table border=1 width=100% cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 bgcolor=#1066FF><tr><td width=48%><p align=center>[color=#FFF9ED][size=20][b]NolF[/b][/size][/color]</td><td width=4%><table border=3 width=100% bgcolor=#E7F9FB><tr><td width=100%><img border=0 src=http://www.elrincondelmanga.com/dracco_ftp/fotos_internet/estrellas/mascotas/sonido.jpg width=35 height=35></td></tr></table></td><td width=48%><p align=center></td></tr></table></td></tr><tr><td width=33% align=center valign=middle><img border=0 src=http://img474.imageshack.us/img474/7596/images2yx.jpg width=30 height=27></td><td width=33% align=center>Subiendo</td><td width=34% align=center><img border=0 src=http://img474.imageshack.us/img474/3707/21ln.jpg width=30 height=27></td></tr><tr><td width=33%><table width=90% align=center><tr><td><font color=#9f1f1f> HTML Code:
[CENTER][COLOR=#fff9ed][SIZE=20][B]NolF[/B][/SIZE][/COLOR][/CENTER] I hope the problem is explained propely, I desperetly need a fix... I don't want it to go to deaf ears, it is just too good to leave this small detail left out Thanks to kall for the hack and Kirby for the hints |

Hope this helps. |
I can't find the option you are mentioning :( Ended up empty handed after looking thoroughly on both UCP and ACP.
Besides, its a bit extrange that in order to be able to edit tables I can only use simple view. If by default when I press edit, it inmediatly shows me de code (including tables) then It's what I'm looking for, else don't know what to do. Just one aclaration, is it vbulletins fault or is it due to this hack that the tables get lost after pressing "switch editor mode"? (I doubt is due to this hack but still it is a valid question, I think.) Thanks for helping mihai11 :) |

Hi Guys
I downloaded and installed this and have changed the permissions for the Administrator only so that I could create an HTML table in a post reply. Sadly, I just seem to get in the preview:- HTML code: and then all the HTML code, it doesn't seem to be parsed. I thought that may be peculiar to the preview so I tried submitting it as a reply but I get the same result. Any ideas, as it seems to be foxing me at the moment! Cheers Nick |
I found the answer - I didn't realise that not only did I need to set the permission for the usergroup, but also the forum permissions to allow HTML
within it. One other thing I didn't realsie was that the HTML could be cut and pasted straight into thw WYSIWYG editor and doesn't have to be inserted as raw HTML code. |

Some things will break if you do that. For example all "targets" for the anchor tag HTML Code:
<a> |
Just a warning if you isntall this in 3.6.4 After puting ,my board live, usergroups who didnt have html allow would stop the post for being parsed just by opening it... so it doesnt work on 3.6.4

Yes, I'm using this plugin, but still under 3.6.1 (patched) and I need this plugin before moving to 3.6.4
|
i am on 3.6.0 and it's not working for me either
|
It's working for me in 3.6.4, but I had to edit the product and tell it that it was compatible with 3.5 and greater.
|
Can someone share this who has it working for 3.6.4 please :)
|
I just installed it on 3.6.4.
Seems to be working fine. But I'm only using is as intended. like the RSS feeds comming in the require HTML to look right. |
I did find one issue.
I tried to post HTML in a code tag for someone. The HTML was formatted. Anyway of making this so the HTML doesn't work in the Code tags? |
Quote:
At a guess, it could possibly be excluded from those tags, but I am somewhat buried in a pile of horrible stuff at the moment, so can't commit to looking into it for some time. :( Anyone who does have the time, feel free to collaborate. |
I installed this on 3.6.4 and it seems to work fine for me, with one exception: one user is having issues with a bit of javascript he previously had in his signature. The thing is, that could be as much an issue with my upgrade from 3.0.6 to 3.6.4 as anything to do with this mod.

I have a secction full of posts done with HTML, well pressented etc... I gave my Mods (About 4 usergroups) HTML permisions. During the 2 days I was setting up the forum (changed from PNphpBB to vbulletin) everything seemed fine with this hack. Then I gave access to some other trusted users to test things out. WHen a unlogged user would visit a HTML post, that user would not see the posts with html structure instead would see all the <table><tr> tags... But that would be only for that user, that post would be screwed permanently. So unless a user with HTML permisions edited de post, it would have the tags... Users in usergroups with HTML permisions would not screwup posts, they only could fix them till another person visits that posts and screwes it again, and again... so finally had to uninstall the hack activate HTML in the desired forums and re-edit all the screwed up posts |
Hallo,
does this hack work for vb 3.6.4? |

Ok, if anyone has figured this next question of mine out, then please share.
I installed all the code correctly. I edited the usergroups, and allowed only the "Admins" to have their HTML parsed (by setting it from the Usergroup Manager). I then made a dedicated Video section: http://www.christianlinks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=74 I then made a post as an Admin and placed this code in there which resulted in an embedded Windows Media Player that should link to a video: Quote:
It will not play at all, when you press the play button. The videos are there, and are located off of the root: /public_html/video/storage I updated my counters, and rebuilt my post cache. Nothing at all. Does anyone know why this is, or has anyone here figured it out. I would not be surprised if others are using the windows media player embedded with this script. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Anyone?

I've noticed that clicking "Edit" from the vBadvanced News Module somehow bypasses the problems everyone is having with this hack and the HTML disappearing when trying to Edit with WYSIWYG in vB 3.6. If I go to the actual News forum however and click "Edit" the HTML still disappears
So, for all the people making excuses and saying that it is vBulletin's fault are wrong, wrong, wrong. If it were vBulletin's fault it would happen every single time you try to edit the post, but I've somehow found a way of "bypassing" it. So devs/coders, please, please, PLEASE figure out how it works just fine when clicking "Edit" from the News module, but not the thread. If you figure it out then you might get it to actually work with 3.6.4. I realize I can disable WYSIWYG, but I'm not going to sacrifice that. Edit: Oh, and ironically, AnyMedia doesn't work in the News Module, but this HTML hack does, so I have to use two different mods to post videos in threads. |
Very useful, thanks Kall.
|
Well I decided to give this a try since I to post html for swf files among other things since I have a music community but do not allow other's to post html.
I've found it does work on vb 3.6.4 and with my test account I am still able to use the [ html]www.url.com[ /html] for members with out allowing them the access to being able to post html within the posts. Great mod if I do happen to find any issues with it then I will post that as well but for now,. it seems to be working as stated. |
Does not parse HTML on vbportal , uninstalled
|
I don't think this is working for me on 3.6.4. People who are in the HTML group can post HTML content, but not everyone can see it - only other people in the HTML group.
|
It works for me on both 3.6.4 and 3.6.5.

This mod died on me after I upgraded to version 3.6.5. I got it to work again affter several attempts. What works for me is to uninstall the mods, reinstall it, and the posts with unparsed codes edited manually, i.e. hit Edit and Save Changes.
