Andreas 11-10-2005 02:18 AM

Feel free to drop me a PM with ACP/FTP details and i'll take a look.

Rickie3 11-10-2005 03:13 AM

i was having the same issue,i went into adminCP and update counters all good now, wierd

chairman miaow 11-10-2005 12:51 PM

Had similar probs on vb3.5.1 - but when i set up a new usergroup (rather than updating existing ones) it worked perfectly !

jayhawk785 11-11-2005 03:07 PM

I tried to read through as much of these as possible to gauge how to make sure this install didn't affect my users' current cash amounts... if I install this, using ucash, will this try to write to my ucash table (which is modified) 500 cash at install??

should i comment this line out?
$db->query_write("UPDATE " . TABLE_PREFIX . "user SET vbookie_cash=500");

im guessing it wont matter since that table isn't the one I care about?

jayhawk785 11-11-2005 03:20 PM

nevermind, i should have read the instructions- you clearly lay it out there... :)

jayhawk785 11-11-2005 04:29 PM

Ok... so I installed... no MAJOR problems- but- I did run into this:

Lets say you are using uCash, but you modified it to use a different table user.user_bank or something like that... vBookie is not looking for that table, where uCash would be...

How many places do i need to change user.ucash?

Andreas 11-11-2005 04:31 PM

Only functions_vbookie.php

stutefc 11-11-2005 05:04 PM

I have minister who is a member on my site (a soccer site) and he is going mad about a betting thing beside his username, yet all the other members love the game. Is there any way of removing the vcash from below his avatar.

Andreas 11-11-2005 06:00 PM

Edit Template postbit/postbit_legacy or edit the plugin, or create a new plugin to unset it.

harbormaster 11-11-2005 06:23 PM

I have loaded everythng and did the install, and I cannot see where I post events.

I created a new user called bookmaster and made him a member of the bookmaker group that has permission to create events. Still no luck!!

You need to start a new thread first, and make sure to tick the box to add a vbookie event down before you submit the new thread as there's no way to add a vbookie event to a thread afterwards.

harbormaster 11-12-2005 01:17 PM

I have no box like that.

I did both the postbit and postbit_legacy. Do you think this could have caused it?

I am running 3.5.1

I am dying to get this working!

Rabbitoh Warren 11-12-2005 01:24 PM

I'd say you need to either re-check all of your template edits and/or make sure you've edited the appropriate usergroups for permission to use vBookie.

harbormaster 11-13-2005 03:31 AM

The installation instructions say to EDIT the "POSTBIT" template in the "Show Thread Templates".

I do not have a postbit or "postbit_legacy" in my "Show Thread Templates"

I Do have these in the "postbit templates" though.

Is this a misprint in the installation instructions?

Or do I have a problem? :o

Andreas 11-13-2005 03:47 AM

Postbit Templates is correct; in older Versions of vBulletin it was Show Thread Templates.

No.

The installation instructions are quite clear. If the option to create a new vBookie event is not appearing when you try to create a new thread then you probably haven't done the first required template modification (newthread) properly.

CAL 11-13-2005 04:34 AM

Hi

I installed vbookie and its looking fine, but the problem I have is whenever I change userpermissions or forum permissions, they dont save. They revert back to what they originally were.

Can you help me??

Andreas 11-13-2005 05:12 AM

I expect you are getting an error when trying to save usergroups or forum permissions.

admincp/index.php?do=buildbitfields

CAL 11-13-2005 06:01 AM

SWEET!

That has fixed it!!

Thanks for the quick reply!

I am running 3.5.1. I wonder why I am running templates from older an older version?

How would I rectify this?

Xtrato 11-13-2005 03:07 PM

Use the latest version of uCash. vBookie works just fine with it.

lsgworldl 11-14-2005 11:56 PM

is this hack free to be modified in any way, and will the authour do it if I surgest changes?

Andreas 11-14-2005 11:58 PM

You can modify it as you like, but I won't give support for modified versions.
Also, feel free to suggest changes you would like to see.

slank 11-15-2005 07:51 PM

thanks - installs...with a clickety click

G0F0RBR0KE 11-15-2005 08:35 PM

Can I edit odds on my Admin Control Panel or do I need to change them on it's file it self? If so, where would this be located on the file it self?

harbormaster 11-17-2005 08:09 PM

I have given up on this hack because of lack of support and have taken it off my board.

I will wait till something alittle more polished is ready.

Anyway, what's your problem with this Hack?

DS MrSinister 11-18-2005 01:29 AM

yes please add a point spread option and also that you can have over and unders
etc.

hitmanuk2k 11-21-2005 07:40 PM

A bit of a dumb moderator has settled an event as having no outcomes, instead of choosing to abandon it (so people get points back). Is there anyway of reversing this, so that it can be abandon and people get points back?

I did this once. Had to resort to manually adjusting users vCash back to the right amount. I've not since repeated the error for it being a pain in the backside...

Please report this as a bug.
Thank you.

RetroDreams 11-22-2005 02:51 AM

Has anyone made a vbAdvanced module for this yet?

I have to say, I would also be really interested in seeing other options added.

I love this hack to bits, but it is a bit stiff in what you can do regarding betting on stuff.

I'd love to see it so that the odds are dynamic and actually change depending on how many people bet on certain options.

johon 11-22-2005 10:06 AM

Nice hack

Any chance to get a german version  To translate the phrases wouldn't be the Problem, but there seems to be a lot of hardcoded text...

Greetz

Jo

Andreas 11-22-2005 02:29 PM

@johon
Umm, there shouldn't be hardcoded text.
If there is, please point it out and it will be fixed.
