You click on the button on the left of the 2nd box that says "Copy Default Text". It's just under: English (US) Translation (Optional)

This will copy the original text that is above so you can change it. Once done, click Save, and it will save the English version for you...you're done.

This doesnt work for 3.5.2, i get this error.

PHP Code:

print_standard_error(...)
is now redundantInstead, use
standard_error(fetch_error(...))

Andreas 12-08-2005 03:59 PM

Bogus. This Hack doesn't call print_standard_error() anywhere.

icemann 12-08-2005 05:05 PM

Works perfectly on the new v3.5.2, thanks bro. :)

*clicks install*

No need to over-react. My fault, was server problem :).

Anywho, is there anyway to make this so it sends to a PM to people who haven't confirmed their email address?

Andreas 12-09-2005 05:48 PM

Over-react? I just classified this report :)
Should I have written "'Not a Bug" (as the status is now @ .com)?
Takes longer to type ;)

I didn't understand anything you said =/. Anyway, great hack! Thanks.

Prince 12-09-2005 09:39 PM

how is this hack different than the Default PM that is already built in to vB?

Andreas 12-10-2005 02:23 AM

There is no "Default PM" built into vBulletin :)

BiReL41r 12-10-2005 02:42 AM

I'll be installing this soon, always a good hack!

hmmm...why do I have it in my admincp then? I assume it was a hack I installed in vB 2.x.x, but I have upgraded to vb 3.5.2 wouldn't it remove this option?

(see attachment)

ReZ 12-11-2005 03:27 PM

Thanks for this!

Perhaps it was left over in your settinggroup table?
I had Cinq's glossary (3.0.x) show up even though I upgraded to 3.5

suryoyena 12-11-2005 03:53 PM

Short question:

I'm a german user and I've installed this mod. I like it, because I used it in version 3.0 too.

So my question is: If I import the product: Is then automaticly the english language installed (without import a language-file)?

club racer 12-12-2005 02:22 PM

Great Hack! Will install this evening when I get home from work!

soniceffect 12-12-2005 09:28 PM

Installed ... a lot better than havin a welcome thread ... leave the lazy buggers to do that emselves LOL

Andreas 12-12-2005 09:29 PM

@Prince
That's settings left over from an old hack you got installed.
vBulletin upgrade scripts will not remove settings set are not marked as vBulletin default.

ReZ 12-14-2005 05:42 PM

Is it possible to customize this welcome message? If so which file[s] do i edit?

sicloan 12-16-2005 08:08 PM

Edit: Nevermind.

The reason i was having problems had nothing to do with this hack, sorry about that. This hack works great and it really is awsome.

evan.townsend 12-20-2005 05:46 PM

Installed - thanks alot :D.

firstrebel 12-20-2005 05:56 PM

A nice personal touch for new members, thanks.

Bob

shadowdancer36 12-21-2005 01:22 AM

Was this hack removed or added to a newer version of the welcome hack?

Renz 12-21-2005 11:59 AM

Just added this... thanks!

Hornstar 12-27-2005 05:41 AM

I get alot of replies from members saying thanks for the welcome and they end up being more active because of this hack. I love it. Great work

BitMite 12-27-2005 05:29 PM

Is it working for 3.5.2?

thank you very much for the great job that you doing! keep it up!

Lpspider 12-31-2005 05:23 PM

In user registration options I edit the username to display from zero - yet when I save it, it reappears as zero. What's up?

EDIT: fixed. I used username instead of user id. And it works! Awsome mod. Thanks.

midaph 12-31-2005 08:03 PM

From the top of the thread
Message Title and Body are Phrases (Varname welcomepm in Phrasegroups EMail Subject Text and eMail Body Text), so you can have Messages in different languages.
You can also specify which User should appear as Sender in vBulletin Options / User Registration Options).

FAQ
It must be imported as a Product (ACP / Plugin System / Manage Products).

Ohiosweetheart 01-02-2006 04:34 PM

I got it... thank you!

dactyl 01-02-2006 06:17 PM

Works perfect, thank you :)

Ohiosweetheart 01-02-2006 06:29 PM

Is there a way to edit the content of the PM?

I found it dactyl... go into the admincp >>> vBulletin Options >>>> User Registration Options. At the very bottom you see where to put the id # for the person sending the pm in, and links to edit the subject line and content

Have fun!

dactyl 01-02-2006 06:58 PM

Ah cool, didnt notice those links, thanks Ohiosweetheart :)
