Not trying to be rude here, but have you actually read through the manual?

http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/

Select Plugin System from left hand frame.

TeaTree 10-06-2005 02:21 PM

Thanks Paul works well as usual

Do I copy whats on the xml file?

Slacker 10-06-2005 03:22 PM

Any chance you could add the option for users to disable this in their User CP? Seems like it'd be easy to do (for someone who knows what he's doing - unlike me). ;)

No! Sadly the 'manual' doesn't explain very much :nervous:

This should set you straight. Hope it helps...

Sorry Slacker, not much chance of that in the forseeable future.

vietkool 10-06-2005 07:03 PM

I have a dump question LOL, firt time to do the hack mod...
how do I import the XML to ?
go to ACP and then what else ?

vietkool 10-06-2005 07:20 PM

nevermind, I looked back and got it works ... great!!! thanks

buffness 10-06-2005 11:33 PM

Actually I figured it out anyway. w00t! :D

Here's how I did it if anyone is curious:

First, I created a Single-Selection Menu profile field with "Yes" and "No" as the two options, defaulting to "Yes."

Then I changed Paul's conditional to use the new option. In my case, the system called it field10.

Original is:

Code:

<if condition="$show['wvt']">
I changed it to:

Code:

<if condition="$show['wvt'] AND $bbuserinfo['field10']!=No">
Works like a charm. :)

I have it set to display as long as the profile field I created isn't set to "No." That makes it display for those who are set to "Yes" and for unregistered visitors.

Rastus 10-07-2005 02:39 PM

Installed

OFFSHORE DAN 10-08-2005 06:25 PM

Works Great!

Cute, thanks for sharing. :)

TMAC 10-10-2005 02:57 PM

I can't make the view by admin only work. I added the lines you quoted above and below the hack. Can you post a sample of the code or PM it to me please.

Paul M 10-10-2005 03:16 PM

Upgrade to the latest version, it has a built in setting for what usergroups are allowed to view. (see first post).

Snake 10-10-2005 03:19 PM

Thanks for the update! :)

Where in the ACP do you find this. I have looked in all areas. Just can't see the options tab. Sorry for any hassel.

Quillz 10-10-2005 04:20 PM

Just installed it! Works great.

MSTTT 10-10-2005 08:40 PM

great hack thanks Paul

freakz 10-11-2005 01:39 AM

How would I go about increasing this to count all the users who visited in the last 48 hours??

Ah! OK - Thanks. I see it now.

Works fine for me. I did do the Collapsed by Default 'mod' in the forumhome template. So - Good. Installed.

In the old 3.0.x version I had a quickie that gave total starting every midnight (just a number, not user names) and I missed it when I upgraded to 3.5. The listing is kinda neat - So I have more than I had.

Thanks!

Shmee 10-11-2005 02:43 AM

Note: Do not use this hack if you have over 10,000 users that visit your forum each day.
Lags the front page.

I seriously doubt that will be a problem for most forums ........ ;)

LCPGUY 10-11-2005 06:38 PM

Installed and tried both since midnight and last 24 hours. Install was a snap and everything works fine.

Great Job!!!

Um, are you asking what I think ? i.e. to display the visitors for the last 24 hours ?

This already has that feature, hence it's title ........ (Today or last 24 hours).

You would edit the plugin & edit the appropiate phrase. The times when you hover over a person would become a bit meaninless so maybe edit them as well to add the date. If your not confident enough in your programming skills to do this then I suggest you leave it as is.

microzott 10-12-2005 06:39 AM

installed with no problems on 3.5.0 GOLD

just a question: do you think taht is possible to include che "Most users ever online" value and the related day, as it was in the old hack for 3.0.X ?
thanks

That was a different mod by Gary King if I remember correctly.. :)

Paul M 10-12-2005 08:09 AM

Yes, Gary's version did do this, and I did also release an add-on hack to my version in 3.0.x that did this if you wanted it (it also worked for my posters and flashchat hacks, as well as splitting the general users online into members and guests). I have ported the same add-on for 3.5 but it's not released on the vb org site.

and where i could find it?

Oblivion Knight 10-12-2005 01:35 PM

I'd be interested in that add-on for 3.5.0 if you wouldn't mind sharing it, Paul?

Bones_3DFC 10-12-2005 01:40 PM

Hi ummmmm
I have perhaps the stupidest question of all time. Was hoping someone else had asked but couldn't find anything.

This is my very first attempt so...
Where can I find FORUMHOME Template as indicated in the readme?

TygerTyger 10-12-2005 02:04 PM

AdminCP > Search in Templates and search for Forumhome

Bones_3DFC 10-12-2005 02:12 PM

OMG! Dude! Thank you!
I'm so used to phpBB. This is amazing! Sweet!
That is so cool - that is amazing to edit stuff like that from Admin CP. omg.
Thank you.

And it works! Sweet!
Going to click "install" now :)

Thank you for hack!
