I bought this plugin and can't get it to work at all. How can I get support for it?

thomas 01-09-2014 12:37 AM

I too was considering to purchase this plugin, but I'm not sure if it's still being actively developed and supported.

The developer's forum throws errors and support requests go unanswered. A clarification by obscureclouddon would be appreciated.

Heckwork, thanks for the link!

Heckwork 01-09-2014 06:46 AM

I think the obscureclouddon plugin is actually better than the one I posted above here. I got it working for what I want, user/login syncing.

I did not get the theme unification to work and obscureclouddon is not replying to my support request. I solved this using Advanced iFrame Pro http://codecanyon.net/item/advanced-iframe-pro/5344999

I use a javascript to force users to jump to the embedded forum.php, in case they use a hard link, but I'm still struggling to get this working with showthread.php?...

Getting a vBulletin Forum to work embedded in Wordpress with iFrames is causing too many problems passing URL?s, specially the direct links visitors already have. Javascripts can be used to solve this but things get really slow and jumpy so I am stuck here and give up on this plugin for this purpose.

Thanks for that precious piece of information!

I don't care about post/comments either, just about user syncing and a shared login via vB.

Can you confirm that the Codecanyon plugin effectively syncs vB users with WP?

Just redid the site. Demo should work now.
Plugin hasn't changed though. It is working like a champ on vb 4.2.2 and wp 3.8

I don't understand what the question is.
If you're asking about where the vBulletin plugins are, they are created from the WP plugin admin page after you enter the forum path. There is a button that says "Add". Hit that and the plugin will create the vB plugins needed.

If you still are having issues, please let me know.

Again, email (don@obscurecloud.com) or skype (obscurecloud) are best for contacting me. I check messages here as often as I can, but email always gets to me.

Hopefully this doesn't affect new Blog posts but I will report back.

The paid version has a lot more features to control users, categories, and forum locations of threads. You can find it on the newly redesigned and demo-able site: http://wp-vb-bridge.obscurecloud.com/

I haven't seen this issue. Please contact me on skype and i'll look at it for you. I suspect that there is another plugin conflict. Try disabling you're other vb plugins to see if it's the issue in the meantime. You should be able to log in to the admincp by turning off the bridge plugin in wp.

I think it is :) It's actually a bargain when you factor the time it took to make......

I haven't tested it on mu. If you buy it and it doesn't work, I'll either make it work for you or give you your money back.

Not sure on the first part. You are free to hit me up on skype and i can get some more details and better answer your question. As for the single sign on, that's the core of what this plugin does.

This can be found in the WP settings page for the plugin. It will become available when you have entered the correct path to the forum.

Changing username is not supported. I know WP doesn't support this natively, not sure about vb off hand though.

Passwords are synced though when changed. They are synced on every login actually. This is what allows login fro either WP or vB with this plugin.

Heckwork, thanks for the link!

Very actively supported.
The reason the site was in such a sorry state was that I spent all of my time supporting customers.

As for support requests being unanswered, I am slow to find them on this forum, but not via email or skype. As a side note, people tend to post here when an issue arrises, but in my defense, not very often when an issue has been resolved. Please keep that in mind. If they were not being dealt with, you'd see a lot more negative comments here.

However, the site has been reworked to allow active demos now.

Thanks for the endorsement. Be sure to let me know if you are still having issues with the theme unification. iframes tend not to work so well. I'd be happy to go through it with you. just keep in mind that some themes do not work very well even with my instructions.

According to there feature list, it doesn't look like it does that.

Mine does :)

I can't, I just checked the features only.

I notice this plug-in is also available through vBSocial. What is the difference between getting it from vBSocial versus ObsureCloud?

It's the exact same.

Obscurecloud,

I'm having some difficulty with the plugin.

-If a user is created via VB, it is also created in WP.

-If a user is created via WP, it is not created in VB.

-If a user is created via the VB registration, single sign on works.

-If a user is created via the WP registration, single sign on does note.

-If a user, who was created via VB logs in through WP, single sign in works perfectly.

-Avatar sync does not work.

-I "synced" users to the VB database. The tables have been populated, but I am unable to login through VB. The users can all login through WP, but single sign on does not work.

-The admin account does work 100% of the time for all features besides avatar sync.

VBSocial resells this plugin. The only difference is that they agreed to support their customers and I support mine :)

Just dropped the price by 50% to commemorate the new site!
Come check it out.

Small problem detected. When a user is created in vB and synced to WP the user can be selected to be the author and it does show as the author in the message. But, when you click the author in that message > the author has no messages. Also in CP messages the user show no messages.

Great, ordered.

You should update the redirection from your store:

Another issue is that links do not work in the messages created by (this synced) user. This can be solved by changing the Author, but that means the Author has to be a user registered in WP.

Power_user_EX 01-16-2014 12:06 PM

Hi again , I am having an issue with 'wp_login_sync' plugin on VB side.

It is giving me security token error when using inline mod like when moving threads.

Error is :

"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error."

When I disable 'wp_login_sync' plugin on VB side , everything works perfect when using inline mod.

Guys, you really need to get your act together. I ordered and paid for the script last Monday, haven't heard back, that includes a PM here and a follow-up email sent to your support address.

Your support forum is full of spam:

This seems to be exactly what we need. I'll check out the lite version and probably go for pro if it works.

Thank you.

Can anyone confirm this works with vB4.2.2 ?

Thanks.
