How do I center my VB5 forum menu ?
|
I am not sure what it is you want, could explain a bit more, perhaps some screenshots.

Chris,
I setup NavTabs and had it all working during testing with two main tabs, each with a menus and 4 link on each. I then built a third tab an the whole thing has now ceased to show any of the drop downs. they are setup with correct permissions to usergroups were working very well. I have systematically gone through disabling from last to newest built. I tried re-installing and rebuilding from scratch. Is there perhaps a limit to the amount of times you can use the lite version or something else that may cause this ? Confused - Dean |
No there should not be a limit, was the third tab you created a normal tab or another droptab? If it was a droptab how many links did you assign to it before it broke?
Chris |
My friend, so sorry to ask a repeated question - this mod will allow me to re-arrange existing tabs as well?
|
Unfortunately no, that can not be done in vBulletin versions less than 4.2 with the mod, it would have to be done in the template, or delete all the current tabs and re create them with the mod.

I added 3 tabs to each and it was working, I then added a 4th and 5th to one and it may have been then that it broke. I have systematically worked back through disabling all usergroup access controls and cut down to one link and cannot get it to work again. I also built a brand new tab with menu and link, again that won`t work. All was fine - its very strange. Maybe I can PM you access see if you can work it out ? |
Sure, pm me a admin account and ftp info and I can see what I can do, as I am unable to replicate that on my test site.

Just a quick note:
This plugin will not work with vB 4.2.1 If you upgrade to it disable this mod, I will be looking into updating it to work with the new features they added as soon as I can. Chris |
BTW I downloaded this VB 4.2.0 a couple of things...
The download lists its the pro version when its obviously not. The navbar tabs do not add automatically even on the default theme. |
I fixed the download, thanks.
Did you upload the contents of the folder vBNavTabs For vB 4.2 ONLY!!! or the Upload folder? And did you import the product xml in the XML folder or the XML folder found in the vBNavTabs For vB 4.2 ONLY!!! folder? Chris |

Not a problem, it happens to all of us. :)
Chris |
Just a quick note, this has a version that is compatible with vB version 4.2.1 but it is in beta for the Pro version, it is being tested and should be released soon.
Chris |
Hi Chris
I noticed that your product didn't offer second navbar for vb 4.2.x? Is there a way to make this possible? even if I use the normal navigation manager, I have to use second navbar but I'm stuck !! Any suggestions? Thanks. |
Actually in 4.2.x Pro version of the mod you can have unlimited navbars. There is one issue in 4.2.1 at the moment that vbulletin droptabs are not working in the additional navbars, but it will be fixed as soon as we get a chance to debug it.
Chris |
Good Chris :)
When do you think you can fix your product? BTW, I'm now using vb4.2.1 and I'm ready to give your pro version a try, but I'm using this product too https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=283123 I use it to deal with sections, because I don't get any other product handle CMS sections like this one, so I want to ask if there is any conflict may occur when using your and Andreas products in the same time? and do your product have a good way to handle CMS sections like Andreas product do? Another point, you said your product can make unlimited navbars, so could I move any default tab (like blogs, what is new, forum ..) or tabs coming with products (like vbtube, photopost, experience, iReviews .....) to another navbar and work perfectly with there menus and links? I wish you can give me a reply as soon as possible because I'm in hurry :). Thanks in advance. |
I am hoping soon, the team is a bit swamped at the moment.
I am sure there would be some conflicts running both mods at the same time so that would not be recommended. What exactly does his mod do with the CMS, readding the description is a bit vague. any tab that is in the navigation manager will work in the additional navbar, with links and menus. Chris |
Hi Chris
I highly recommend you to install Andreas mod in vb4.2 copy of vbulletin to understand why all people need his hack. For me the most important part is the CMS sections, where you can assign section/s to a tab, then when you go to that/those sections that tab will be highlighted and articles tab not, even if you opened an article in one of those sections that tab will continue highlighted. So, if you can add this feature to your product yuo will solve the problems for a lot of people. Regards. |
I bought the pro version and waiting your fixes to the drop-down navtabs issue.
BTW, I don't get conflict between your mod and Andreas mod, but his mod has some of features which is broken after 4.2.1, but the sections part is still work and it is what I need from that great mod. |
Thanks for the support, and the feedback. I am hoping to get some time this weekend with the team to sort the dropdown issues in the second navbar.
Chris |
Hi Chris.
Do you mean the dropdown works fine with the first navbar now? What about the sections feature that I requested, do you plan to add it and some other useful feature from Andreas mod to yours? Thanks. |
Yeah droptabs work in vb4.x in the first navbar, but did not the additional navbars, I loaded a fix to the Pro version on DBTech to solve that, just waiting for confirmation from a few sites to make sure it is working correctly.
It is not the tree type dropdown like the other mod, just normal dropdown tabs. I will be looking into additional features during the next upgrade of the mod, but it is not currently scheduled for a update yet. Chris |
I tried the drop-down tabs in the first navbar but without luck !!
I will wait your final fix, and I wish you will give approximate date for new features :). |

If after loading the pro files and it still don't work, you will have to post the issue on our site in the proper forum so we can proceed. Chris Chris |
Does this have the option to where i can make it where all tabs cant be seen by guests?
|
The conflict was with Andreas product, now it works fine.
I wish you add Andreas great options to your great product as soon as possible. Thanks Chris. |

Hi Guys
I updated this add-on because I updated to 4.2.1, even though I thought it was working ok. Our drop down menus are a solid blue colour now, Rather than white....Any ideas? http://www.nirc.co.uk/dropdowns.JPG *I've fixed the problem above, but now we have lost our search tab on the right. Any help would be great.* Dave |
Where should the configuration settings for this plugin be? When I install the 4.2 version (using the files from the 4.2 folder) all I get is a menu section in the Admin area, with "general settings." I don't see anywhere to add tabs, drop-downs, etc. Where do I find those settings?
|
That is correct.

Hi all,
After a successful beta period, vBNavTabs is now at v1.3.1 , which now works on vB v4.2.1. Changes in this version.
|
this version (1.3.1)is compatible with vb4.2.0 or I use a previous version?thx
|
Just paid for a re install for this and the Wall, thanks guys, glad its working on 4.2.1
|
Tested but messed up all my theme.
Uninstalled. |
With some custom styles it is necessary for me to go to the site, and do some manual edits in the code to make it work on them.
Chris |
I can only see General Settings, no Link/Tab/Dropdown menu settings.
vB 4.2.1 Used the vB 4.2 filed to install/upload ect... have added the 2nd navbar To add the *.xml file I used to upload it from my PC and did not upload it to the folder on the vBulletin server. Please help. Thank you. |
That would be correct, in vB 4.2 all the other settings are found in the Navigation Manager.
Chris |
Using the pro version I have a wrning that I am using too many tabs, yet the the mod says unlimited tabs...should I ignore the warning?
