Hi guys, good lookin app... I'm moving over from DownloadsII, but, I have a concern. Can you take a look at my site: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/vbdownloads.php

I see the floating statistics window overlapping the find window. Can you help me fix this? Thx

If you can pm me a temp admin account I will see what's causing it. I don't have it happening on my dev system or on our production system.

I'm running into an issue that I feel in completely my fault, as I haven't been into vB or any kind of web site design or coding for many years. When in the Manage Settings section of the Downloads product in the Admincp, no matter what I enter in the path to downloads I get a message saying: "There are errors in the settings on this page. Are you sure you want to save?" This occurs no matter what I enter as my path to downloads it seems, whether it be the absolute path or a generic html one. I've been able to get the system basically up and running flawlessly aside from this one issue. I dunno what it determines as my download path, thus no one can download anything.

Again, I am obviously rusty and the internet has come along way in about 8 years or so.... any help would be much appreciated.

[edit] Whoa this technically is my first post on vb.org ever?! WTF, I used to be a developer here lol.

Also, I have the downloads product disabled, however the "Downloads" link still exists in my Navbar Tab, and I see no way to disable that either. I have all modules disabled, and yet the systems is usable....sort of. You're more than welcome to look at what me and my friend have setup at this point lol. http://www.grievousguild.com/forums[/edit]

If you look in the ACP you can find the path to your forum directory.
ACP->Maintenance->View PHP Info
Just change the path from your forums to your downloads.

Do you have it disabled in the product section? As soon as I disable it there the navbar link goes away. If I disable the global module I don't see it as well.

Cleeq 03-10-2012 11:48 PM

I did take your advice and disable via the product menu in the ACP, and that worked just fine for making it unavailable for everyone. Now, I just need to figure out my issue with the download path. Nevermind me :D

Hi
I have this same error message, and don't see anything in PHP info to change download directory.

I've tried ./public_html/downloads and ./downloads and full path and still get the error

Update, ok so I added this directory /www/forum/downloads then pointed path to ./downloads and by gosh it works there is even a file in the directory :)
Thanks

bposner 03-19-2012 08:36 PM

I have a few questions, probably mostly user errors.

1. I can't seem to find out how to add the icon for the file type. They are setup correctly in the Attachments area in ACP. But when uploading to the Download module, the (in this case XML) file type does not appear, even though I have content type matching what I have in Attachments.
Edit: I found that this broken image was pointing to +/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif which didn't exist, so I just put an image in the directory under that name <shrug>

2. I can't seem to get rid of that "no image" image. We are using this upload initially for text and xml templates so there is no image as part of the file. My one idea is just replace your standard no image, image with one of our own. but, when listing files, or under the section "More from this user" then we get the same image displayed, looks kinda unprofessional, to have all the same images displayed.
EDIT: Found the image, noimage.png, and just replaced it that looks more friendly. Thanks

Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Question about Pro version and Ratings
I see from your site, that ratings is just a + or - one point, correct? is there a scalable ratings in the works, such as rate 1-5 ?

Thanks for your time.

Sorry, been a busy week and didn't realize I haven't checked the thread.

We are not working on the next version yet. I don't believe there is a request in the queue to change the rating system although I'll keep it in mind when we start the next version.

I don't see a problem? Can you be more specific on the issue or give me a screenshot example?

It seems to work fine on my test system.

Something told me to look at this again, I may be able to use this along with the Wimpy Player.

I can't seem to find a way to set permissions to remove this from the menu NavBar. I have one user group who I wish not to see this option. Looked in the user group and can't find anything to limit view on navbar. Suggestions?

duyetmai 05-11-2012 01:41 PM

Bug!
When i upload a file but forgot some field as message, title or Download Name, i will get a error message like that "You are missing required fields". However after i fill all the missing fields and click upload again, i always get a message "current uploading". The status of uploading is always pending although i just upload a file with 50kb.

when I refesh this page and upload again without any missing fields, the uploading is very smooth.
i think that the upload button can't works after the error message displays

Do you not want them to be able to use it or just not see the nav link?

I just added v1.3.5 which will fix the navigation for vB4.2

Dylan

Judge Dredd X 05-27-2012 01:05 AM

I am getting a blank page when clicking Upload File.

You can view it here: http://themacforum.net/forums/vbdown...upload&catid=1

Note I am using vB 4.1.12.

EDIT: Just for testing, I installed the plugin on my 4.2 test environment, configured everything, and it made forum.php go blank.

I just added 1.3.6 which should fix both these issues. Let me know if you still have any problems.
Thanks

Judge Dredd X 05-27-2012 06:54 PM

I can't tell you because this new version seems to have broken my board. Apparently, disabling all plugins and products via the config doesn't disable this product, so now when I log into the ACP, it constantly refreshes, won't stop, and I cannot do anything.

Judge Dredd X 05-27-2012 06:57 PM

Reverted to 1.3.5. ACP is still refreshing.

Judge Dredd X 05-27-2012 07:34 PM

It doesn't seem to be the mod causing this.

Athrun1234 05-30-2012 10:43 AM

I am getting permission errors, I am the super administrator on my VB and states I cannot view the PHP file.

Is there any additional permissions I need to set other than the ones on the CP?

Does this let you include external downloads links like in DownloadsII? Instead of having the files uploaded on the site could you just put the link in it and would basically be the same thing but hosted externally.

There are usergroup permissions and there are module permissions in the left pane downloads section of the ACP.

If those are both set right, what error are you getting exactly? If you want, send me a PM with the site and an account that has permissions to upload and I'll take a look.

This was a fix for the navigation changes in 4.2, I didn't add any new features. Currently all the files are hosted locally. Having external file links is an option that is on the list of things to look into when we plan out the next version.

So you will be adding something like this soon?
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/
Instead of using the site to host files but just put an external link and have that as the download correct.

Anyways appreciate the reply! Thanks :)

Probably something like that yes. It probably will be a basic link to another site with the option to display different text. Not sure when we will work on the next version though.

Hi,

Thanks for this mod, it looks like what we were looking for moving forward from DownloadsII...

However, I'm having trouble using the Import function. When I try to run it, after specifying the source and destination paths I get an SQL syntax error:

Database error in vBulletin 4.2.0:

);

Any ideas why this comes up? The syntax seems correct to me... :-/
