I tried your site Dbtech to get some help with a skin and still stuck with one skin that the shout don't show :(
Everything is setup as it should , 4 other skins work ok
Why does this happen ??? for only one skin???
i just need the shout on the main index page to show :(

Unfortunately we are unable to help diagnose the issues with individual skins. Your best bet would be to ask the creator of the skin for help in diagnosing the issue (since vbshout works on all your other skins, it means it is a problem with that one skin that needs resolved).

I got an issue. If you open multiple browser instances the server load will get sky hi. This mod will query db each time it refreshes?
Does the db has the index created?

If you use the File System optimisation, it only refreshes when there's actual new shouts.

The table is optimised with indexes as well, yes :)

I installed also vbshout and for the moment I have one small issue..

I create a chat room and I invite a member but nothing happend..

"◦Inviting an user sends them a pop-up asking them to join the room."

Also they invite me and nothing happend..

I am also unable to invite member to a chat room I created. Actually, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There are times when I invited a member in the forum to my chat room, but that member didn't get the invitation. Instead, the invitation went to somebody else. I knew this because when I clicked on the link "View Chat Room Access List" I saw that my invitation was sent to that somebody else. On the other hand, the other member could invite me (as the admin).

I think the problem is with the way the nick name is looked up in the database.

Which are the usernames who are trying to invite eachother?

So this is what happens. I, as the admin, try to invite someone to a room I created. But the user I want to invite doesn't get invited, instead one random person from the first 9 users of the forum is invited instead. Actually, it is not quite random. If I invited user with ID between 40-49 then the user with id 4 will be invited! Similar for others. So if the user id has two digits then the user corresponds to the first digit get invited. But this principle somehow changes when we go to users with userid having three and more digits. When I invite the user with ID 160, nothing happen, i think the system must've looked up this user and mistakenly associate this user with my username, which has uid=1, and then it doesn't do anything. May be the first digit of the userid is always mistakenly thought of as the actual userid.

One the other hand, anyone who invites me or somebody in the first 9 users can do so without any problems.

Consider three users
admin has uid=1
TTMT has uid = 9020
amocachi has uid = 9

Situation 1: admin invites TTMT
The invitation goes to amocachi instead.

Situation 2: admin invites amocachi
then amocachi gets the invitation, there is no problem.

Situation 3: amocachi invites TTMT
nothing happens

Situation 4: TTMT invites amocachi
amocachi gets the invitation, there is no problem

Are those the exact usernames in question? "admin", "TTMT" and "amocachi"?

I fully understood the process, but I need to know the exact usernames in question (whether they have any special characters like the Trademark symbol) etc.

So can you please answer that question?

archive feature isn't working on our forum ? Using lite version and when clicked archive it opens the forum in a new window. I have checked & ticked access to admins to search archives but still find no difference, need some help

no not any modification seo plugins, there is a sitemap mod but it doesn't modify the link.

That might happen if you have both the manual template edit and the auto-deploy functionality enabled, check your templates :)

The only person who can be invited to a chatroom is user ID 1, no other members ever get the popup. I noticed that the Old Message: and New Message: in the Log in AdminCP show the same text for logged edits, pretty sure the Old should show the text before it was edited. I also don't see a "Auto-Delete Shouts" option in the settings. And there is no way to delete reports?

I think I'll hold off purchasing Pro until invites etc are fixed.

I'll have those fixed for the next version :)

Auto-Delete Shouts is actually a Pro feature, it was incorrectly shown as being in Lite, I apologise.

There's no way to delete reports, no, but they will stop showing up in the reports tab when they have been handled.

Hi Fillip,

In my case the users have special characters, I have the trademark symbol and one other user that I was trying to invite has "-=" in the start and end of the name...

Also I would like to ask something more..
I have uncheck from members to be able to see the archive, but in the shoutbox they can see the option to go to archive page. Of course then they are receiving a message that they cannot, but the best would be not to see the option at all (on the left top, next to Shoutbox, there is an arrow and if you press it gives the option to go to archive)..

The other thing has to do with bandwidth.. Since I install the shoutbox the bandwidth has been doubled.. If I use "Shoutbox Optimisation" it will reduce also the bandwidth? what "Shoutbox Optimisation" actually does??

I'm experiencing a slight issue with this on my forum.

The Chatbox just stays on "Loading..." and won't allow any text to be entered.
When viewing in Internet Explorer, I found the following javascript error was being captured:

It may be of interest to note that I have recently completed a host migration.

I have fixed the original issue, I'm going to test special characters as well before pushing a fix.

You seem to be lacking the YUI library, what version of vBulletin are you running?

Sadly it is not possible to fix slash commands to work with characters like Trademark, due to limitations of AJAX technology and the database storage method at this point in time :(

Sounds good. The reason I mentioned the reports is because even though they are marked as handled they still show on the report list page. Sooner or later there is going to be a huge amount listed if they stay on the report list page and are not removed/deleted. I guess that is another bug if they should not show when handled.

It will not function correctly in vBulletin 4.0.1 because of a bug in that version.

If so, then why is it here in this section?

That pertains to the vB4 version, I didn't make two separate Readme files because it works on vB3.8 and vB4 with the same set of files :)

I got this problem: Admins saw blank forum pages when I enabled vbshoutbox (admin control panel page worked fine) . Server froze every few days (needed reboots). The problem disappeared after I disabled the product. Other than that I like the product. But obviously, I have to disable it for now.

Hmm, did you try re-uploading all files? It's possible that some of them were corrupted upon upload.
Are you on a shared, VPS or dedicated server?
