I've noticed the [table] codes do not work, probably because of the vB CMS [table] codes. Any possible solution?

thincom2000 08-10-2011 11:41 AM

In vBulletin 4.1.4, the vB CMS [table] codes are used even outside the CMS. Because of this change, the TABLE code in VaultWiki Lite no longer works in vBulletin 4.1.4+. There is a tool bundled with the commercial version that essentially lets you pick which one to use, but that tool has never been one of the features in VaultWiki Lite since 2008.

same problem here

thincom2000 08-12-2011 04:24 PM

Okay I have been notified of the fix by VaultWiki devs, but I can't currently upload the file here since the attachment script appears to have errors (I can't even get the Attachment Manager popup to appear). We will all have to wait until vb.org devs fix the issue with attachments now.

EDIT: This issue was fixed by updating Firefox. Not sure what the problem was, but Firefox wasn't opening ANY new windows, even from the File menu.

cosy 08-12-2011 06:31 PM

the upgrade from lite to pro wont work for me

thincom2000 08-12-2011 06:54 PM

You will have to ask the support team for Pro. I only handle Lite and I'm only really allowed to talk about Lite because of the rules of vb.org.

rotor 08-27-2011 04:01 AM

how can I make the number of characters larger so I can ad a bigger article without having to make 2 articles out of the one ...

at present it's 10000 but the article I want to wiki is 21195 characters long

ok, found it in vB Options - Maximum Characters Per Post

and how do we contact the support team???

tried their site for the last two or three days but it looks like it's shut down .....

thincom2000 08-31-2011 07:37 AM

Their site uses vBulletin so you should probably use the "Contact Us" link in the footer.

I haven't had any problems personally with the site. If you mean you contacted them and didn't get a response, I'm not sure if their office is open on weekends.

rotor 08-31-2011 07:52 PM

Cant open the page at https://www.vaultwiki.org/

Opens in IE but not in FF - get an error in FF:

Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to www.vaultwiki.org.
Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).
(Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)

thincom2000 08-31-2011 08:04 PM

What version of Firefox are you using? It looks like your Firefox doesn't know how to decode the HTTPS on the site. I've used Firefox 3.6, 4 and 5 with no issues. Also make sure in your Firefox's options, that you haven't disabled SSL or TLS support, since you need those to view secure sites.

rotor 08-31-2011 08:51 PM

yeah beta 7 and TLS was unticked .. ok now thx

victorvu 08-31-2011 10:00 PM

Hi:

It seems a very interest product, but the commercial version of the cost $70.0, does it included branding free? If it is, I would like to consider for purchase. Thanks for the info.

Victor:up:

thincom2000 09-01-2011 03:34 PM

Again, we're not allowed to talk about details or pricing of commercial versions on vbulletin.org. If you have questions, you have to bring them to the official VaultWiki site, linked in the first post.

axix20xx 09-03-2011 03:04 AM

Thanks ...
I have update to new version ...
but all of my pages are said :" Page not found "
How can i solve this problem ?

thincom2000 09-17-2011 04:48 AM

Is it a vBulletin page or a white page with "page not found"? Is that the exact message? If so, it sounds like the showwiki.php file is missing or uploaded to the wrong directory.

Hello. Why is it that renaming an article can cause it to not work properly at times?

At times... What was the original title and what is the final title of a time where this occurred?

Quickness 10-17-2011 04:52 PM

I've installed the Lite version. Unfortunately none of the images show up. The imgdir_vault variable does not to seem to be set, despite setting it under VaultWiki->Wiki Style Manager.

Every image that shows up on the Wiki acts as if imgdir_vault is set to a blank value.

Any ideas?

thincom2000 10-19-2011 09:11 AM

I don't remember exactly what the problem was when I had the same issue, but I think it was fixed by rebuilding styles.

Styles & Templates > Style Manager > [Rebuild All Styles]

ofir24 10-19-2011 09:49 AM

i try to uninstall wiki, i got that message:
"Confirm Deletion: VaultWiki

Are you sure you want to uninstall the product called 'VaultWiki'?
(productid: ces_nwsp_spec)

This action cannot be undone.
"

wobbly 10-26-2011 08:00 PM

Can't access https://www.vaultwiki.org/ on EI but okay on FF.

JErix 11-27-2011 01:43 AM

Just out of curiosity, and maybe because I'm a complete newb, but, why would I pay for VaultWiki when I can download and install a MediaWiki page for free?

What's the differences? Pros and cons to each? Seems to me I would just go to MediaWiki and use that, but, again...I'm a newb..maybe I'm missing the point.

***EDIT****

Can a mod please delete this post? I found my answer within the thread...sometimes it helps to search. :o

I must say that I don't know what answer you found and would you buy or not VaultWiki, but for me, I'm very satisfied with VaultWiki.

One of most useful features is auto-links. When you have certain wiki article, everywhere in your forum where its name is mentioned it becomes link to that wiki article.

Of course, having it so tightly integrated with vB is also very big plus for me. Price could look as big problem, but it depends on you. If your forum starts making money, why not spend some of it on very useful software that would help you make even more of it? And yes, that depends what type of community you're trying to build. I agree that there are forums that couldn't benefit from having wiki. But most of them would.

Sage Knight 12-26-2011 08:10 AM

This product is really good but it does have some random issues for instance;

An article of mine vanished after re-appearing, I don't know what happened or could have caused this.

But overall a solid product. I just hope it can be improved in terms of renaming articles and fixing the all of a sudden random issues.

Power_user_EX 01-17-2012 01:55 PM

Really nice plugins to manages articles for vB thx a lot :D

RC-Central 01-18-2012 09:07 PM

What does this mean when I am trying to add a child forum and add Wiki to it??

The forum could not be added to the namespace. Create the forum with the Wiki mode disabled, and configure the namespace in the Namespace Manager to include this forum. You can then activate the forum's Wiki mode.

Power_user_EX 01-19-2012 02:44 PM

Hi.. need a bit help.. Along with vaultwiki , I m using an image resize plugin found here : https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=237650

Problem is this that image plugin fails to work on posts showed as wiki... and img is displayed with its original size

But for normal posts the image plugin works just fine.

please help

Yes, this is also in my wikis too.

linuxwhy 02-26-2012 08:22 AM

this product is a masterpiece, at the beginning, you may just don't like it's not-wiki-like look(as you are similar with mediawiki, I tried vbmediawiki, spent quite time and integrated well, but soon, you will find that it affects the performance of your site ), but once you start using Vault, you recognize it's the right one adding wiki functions to vb, I just bought the 3rd premium one.

If I try the lite first, am I going to be able to upgrade to pro without issue now? Anyone?

thincom2000 03-22-2012 08:04 AM

If you have problems upgrading to pro, just contact VaultWiki's support and they will help you.

parrots 03-22-2012 02:56 PM

Absolutely LOVE this product. It has really improved my overall site, not just the wikipedia itself. Thank you!

Breakthecycle2 03-24-2012 05:32 PM

I dont get what I am supposed to do with this error. Can someone please help?

Invalid default namespace ID detected. Make sure that you have set up the default namespace via the Namespace Manager. If you have, it is possible that the Namespace Cache is not up to date because of a recent change or VaultWiki upgrade. To solve this issue, simply go to the Namespace Manager and select [Rebuild All Namespaces].

Breakthecycle2 03-24-2012 05:41 PM

And also, if I change the namespace, I get this error "A required field called forumid is missing or has an invalid value."

I am on Vbulletin 4.1.11

thincom2000 03-25-2012 07:25 AM

In the Namespace Manager for default namespace, you must select a forum from the drop-down, or choose the option to Create New Forum. This is part of the install instructions; the error goes away once you do this.

Breakthecycle2 03-25-2012 04:35 PM

Thanks. That worked perfectly.

SportBikeNet 03-25-2012 08:15 PM

can someone provide a template so it looks more like a wiki? tried to sort it out myself but got nowhere fast :(

Myth-Scape 03-25-2012 10:19 PM

okay so I installed it etc...but what happened to the namespace manager etc now? 0.o

thincom2000 03-26-2012 07:25 AM

Make sure VaultWiki is enabled in your Product Manager. If it's disabled, vBulletin hides links to add-on panels.
