Hello I get this hyperlinked code showing up in the place of the gif image

Code:

-[color=c=online_member.gif]ibrahim22[/color] (Age: hidden or unknown)
I tried the css fix on page 7

Code:

<span style="color:#0000FF;font-weight:bold;">Modding Guru</span>
but it doesn't involve images. Then i searched for how to call images via CSS but none of those seemed to be straightforward and I couldn't find any site where it was discussed where the members agreed on how it should be done. Is there a way for this code with color to simply show the linked name and username icon without the opening and closing color tags?

Hi for all,
i do not understand how to bring up my nickname when creating the topic Happy Birthday.

I put my nick name in the control panel but shows "not registered" the author of the topic

It's Damn Real! 09-15-2012 10:50 PM

-[color=tyle=font-weight:normal]steve1995[/color] (born in 1995, Age: 17)

Happy Birthday!
Looks like the code is off...

I really like the mods title started with VSa.

I've got this mod installed on 4.2.0, but it's not working at all. :(

Please be more specific as to what is not working or why you say it is not working. Explain what is happening or not happening.

Sorry about that. The mod installed without a problem, but no threads have been generated. I've let it run for a couple of days, with users who have their details displayed having birthdays in the meantime, but no threads were created. Nothing is happening at all.

I'm on 4.2.0 and we have very few other mods installed. Active members time cut-off is set to '0' to treat all members as active. My CP settings are attached.

Is your b-day forum open to the public? I think somewhere in this thread I read it has to have public access, I could be wrong though.

Yes, it is open to the public. We just restrict access to photos, not forums.

By any chance did you edit the b-day greeting? If you did re-import the product, allow over write and use the default greeting first. I remember editing the b-greeting and it didn't work, I re-imported the product , allowed overwrite and it worked.

Yes, I edited the greeting because it has to be translated into our forum's language. I will try to re-import the product, but will this allow me to use our language eventually? It's imperative that it should be in our board's language.

I tried this, but still no luck. I guess this mod doesn't work on 4.2.0 or at least, it doesn't on ours.

You should be able to use your own language yes, but you have to be careful, something throws off the greeting, it might be a character like a " or an ' or even a ! , try to change the greeting and avoid using any special characters that we use in code, maybe a damn ( or a ) or throws it off.

My Hattiesburg 11-16-2012 08:31 PM

I'm getting some weird post times of greetings. I had one post at 11:59 PM then the exact same one again at 12:01 AM. Just recently I had one post at 11:01 PM, the day before the birthday. All the others have worked right, after midnight the day of the birthday.

Any thoughts?

Could be the time zone they have set up in their settings. Not sure though.

My Hattiesburg 11-27-2012 10:44 PM

I'm still having a problem with this mod creating threads on the wrong day and now getting the date wrong. Last night at precisely 11:00 PM it created a birthday thread for one member, and said her birthday was on 11-26, even though her profile has it as 11-27. The What's Going On block listed her birthday correctly as did the Calendar.

andyv72 12-02-2012 10:35 PM

Update pls

CAG CheechDogg 12-03-2012 02:34 AM

I actually had a thread being created on the wrong day too just last week and it wasn't that person's birthday. I checked on the time zone they had on their profile and all was fine there. ...Pretty weird stuff, never had it do this before.

My Hattiesburg 12-07-2012 05:06 PM

It still wants to create a thread at 11:00 PM of the day before the birthday, and giving out the wrong date. It's confusing our members who read the thread the next day and think they're a day late in giving out birthday wishes.

Anybody got a clue what might be causing this or how I might go about changing some settings to get it to behave properly?

I am not sure about the mod but I am sure if your server has the wrong date and time it will cause your website to show the wrong date and time!

Also make sure you have the correct time zone set for your forums
SETTINGS, Date and Time Options

There is also a setting for Daylights savings time...

I thought about that, but our site is showing the correct time. The server, though, is on MST and we're on CST but if that was a factor then the thread would be started an hour late, not an hour early.

But I tested this out before enabling site-wide and it worked properly then. It also worked properly the first few times that it created a thread, then it wonked out. Also, I wouldn't mind even if it did post a thread an hour early - if it would insert the correct date, but it seems that it's inserting the date of the thread creation instead of pulling the date from the user's profile. Or maybe it's pulling the date from the profile and then subtracting 1, I don't know.

This may have started after the DST change, I'm not sure, but since all the dates on our site automatically changed over properly when it happened, it still puzzles me. I suppose it's also possible that it's something that I installed after installing this mod but I don't have a clue what it might be since this is the only thing I'm having a problem with.

My Hattiesburg 01-08-2013 04:57 PM

Anybody have any suggestions as to what I can do to get this mod to insert the correct date? I really like it but it makes us look foolish by proclaiming that someone's birthday is a day earlier than the actual date.

Mine started doing this, again. I thought it was fixed.

guys, this is a server issue. see if you host can set your server time correctly and you'll have a fix

I'm not an expert on this stuff but I think I have a pretty good grasp on things (and I could also be totally wrong). We manage our own server, which is located in MST and our site is on CST, therefore the server clock is one hour behind our site clock, i.e., when it's 2:00 here it's 1:00 there. Our site and the server both show the correct respective times, I just checked it.

Should the server clock and the site clock both be the same? I did change it once and it threw the site times off and posting permissions (you have to wait xxxx seconds before you may make another post), so I changed it back real quick and haven't touched it since because everything was working properly.

But it seems that if the mod is pulling the server time, then it would make the post one hour late instead of one hour early, i.e., when the server clock hits midnight it's already 1:00 AM here. Instead, it's posting it an hour early.

Or am I totally missing something?

My server is 2 miles away and the time is correct...and I still have the issue.

voglermc 01-08-2013 05:58 PM

I'm not an expert on this either but my site has always posted this on the right date and my server is in DC and I'm in NC. We both observe DST and am on EST.

Maybe the author is dead. I was also looking for an option that can post on random time. For my forum it posts every morning 6:30, where some users can guess that it automatic and not real person who posts.. :p

Please fix.
