also, when someone clicks on the chat tab, specifies their desired name, then presses save, it brings them back to the name selection. how can i fix it so that when they save their name the first time, it takes them to chat?

I'm newb at this. Would love to have irc chatroom on my board. I uploaded the upload folder to my home directory and installed the xml file, but i get 404 message. Where exactly in home directory should I upload it? I just uploaded to public-html folder. Any help would be great guys.

Is there any way to move where the button is located? We don't want it next to blogs and forums but at the end of the line.

I apologize for the delays in responses, and long periods of inactivity for development. School is about over for me, one more week. That means all night programming anything that needs to be done, I'll make sure ezirc gets a priority.

Installed it today and it works as much as it is now. But when someone else (not Admin Usergroup) tried to join the Chat, he only got to where one has to enter the Username must be entered. After that nothing else happend anymore.

I'm not sure on a ETA. I'm starting redevelopment today, as the current version is not the .. best it can be. I've changed my development methods/ways, and it should improve the quality of the product. I will probably have a demo in a few hours for people to use.

UNINSTALLED- EzIRC is quite a good mod and I may come back to it one day. I wanted to use something that wasn't 3rd party (mibbit) or require permission/download (pjirc) So i installed a fabulous mod called vBadvanced which not only allows me to create pages but provides the forum with a really cool portal as well. I used it to create a page to match each style and hold an iframe to a CGIIRC client installed on the same server. Works great!

cgiirc is the same as mibbit, it's a third party gateway to get to the irc network.

Not quite Flo. I have CGIIRC installed on the web-server and it connects to my own IRC server. All scripts run on my server. Also there is quite a difference between Ajax and CGI code but no matter, I got away from dependence on a site(mibbit) i don't control and there's no ads and no java :up:

Mibbit is an Ajax client, meant for anyone who doesn't have java or flash installed (dunno who would use Flash for a irc client, but whatever) :)

I do not understand what you mean by removing the network list, it's a built-in feature that cannot be removed.
It would be great, and it will be implemented. It's summer-time and no more hell with school to deal with :)

It would be great if you could add it to the options of your EzIRC.

I strongly vote against it, it's using their network, and doesn't let you choose, unless you pay good money for it. Flash and IRC hasn't gone together since 1984.

The statserv bot is on irc.vbirc.com in your channel you mentioned. I don't know if this mod needs a cache update or something though. SNN might know more about this.

No, if the channel doesn't get a visit in 364 days it might get deleted. But i doubt that would happen. Surely someone joins it once a year :)

If the channel has 15+ active users in there, we give it a 'NOEXPIRE' flag, as it's considered a popular channel.

Will this get a Who's Chatting feature

I do believe it already has such functionality, but only for the vbirc network. It's been a while since I've worked on this product.

Good news, I will be starting up development again for this product .. considering I haven't worked on it in a long time. There is a new version, quite greatly improved, for vBulletin 3. I will be reworking the ui to look like, and be exactly like the version for vBulletin 3, as it is simplified, and easier for everyone. :)

@KURTZ, if you're still having issues, just wait a day or two, I should have the new version out by then. :)

EzIRC 2.1 has been released, upgrade method is just as normal, please make sure to edit your channel permissions when you're done upgrading.
Installation is the same as any other install.
pJIRC support has been removed.

Yes, in order to display stats on the front page, you have to use the vbirc server.

The first thing is that only mibbit (is disabled into the acp) comes up.
The second thing is also when I enable mibbit it say:Connection failed (Could not connect)
Last but not least when I go to "Network Manager" and try to save the network options this mysql error comes up:

What can it be?

That Error I also can confirm beside the table problem. I think maybe you also have this problem, when you edit and save your server settings that you get the SQL error message :( .

pJIRC support has been dropped due to the numerous errors that had been coming up, and I was not able to respond to such problems. An AJAX client also allows users to run it no matter what OS they run on, if they don't like the ad, google chrome or firefox with adblock works fine.

The uncached template is cached in 2.1.1, the release scheduled for Friday (or earlier if I find there's no more bugs to fix in the meantime)

As far as the cURL error, will go into some debugging and find out what is going on.

The Problem ist not the missing pjirc more that I don't want run over a not owned server.
I know that I'm a little control freak, but I don't like the men in the middle ant that's exactly what mibbit ist for me. Or does I see it wrong?

But I will test it and let my users decide how we go on and how we will handle it. Else the other possibility (the badest one) is to use a flash chat or downgrade (if there is a possibility to get the last PJIRC Version)

P.S. Tested now the attachment you send and it works the only thing what don't work (and that's normal why I use that script) that the User will be automatic logged in. So the Script ask me always for my username. How can I change his?

Wow, I can't believe I forgot to enable autoconnect, I use that quite often on my own board as well. I will release the fix (and instructions how to enable autoconnect for your channel(s)) soon, if there are no more bug reports. The next scheduled bugscrub is Friday, but it can easily be changed if there are (as mentioned) no more bug reports.

As far as Mibbit goes, it's not really a middle-man type of thing, it's more of them hosting a client so it doesn't use any bandwidth on your server. Mibbit does not interfere with the way your channel runs, and does not effect your channels. :)

Just upgraded, I also had a few issues listed below.

Database error as in post 312 - deleted and readded channel fixed this.
Unable to connect via web page - open popout box connected put this down to a style issue.

tested in basic style - connected fine, now also connects in other styles weird!

After the update mine no longer show users in the chat.
Once in the chat it does not show them come in, you only see a name pop in on the list.

Damn.

I'm disappointed to hear about discontinuing support for pjirc, as that's what I've been using for the lifetime of this particular mod over many past vb versions (6-7 years?). I haven't had many issues at all whatsoever with it. I guess I'll continue to run the last version I have for as long as it will function.

I hope you reconsider supporting it again in the future.
