Nice product! I uploaded again, but the newest zip doesn't have the .xml product file. Uploading what was there didn't appear to fix the private message pop-up.

by the way, when I tried to update berryblab to version .95, only .93 shows up.

Ignore! I was being silly.

Did'nt see the login fields under options.

How is the Storm / Storm 2 BB app going? I have this vB mod installed, however most of my vB BB users, have BB storm 1 or Storm 2 Phones. Me included (Storm2)

Prisoner 12-29-2009 09:46 AM

The PM's don't seem to be working on my Curve 8330. I can read them, but not reply to them. 4.5.0.89

Berryblab .93

Warlord 12-29-2009 01:37 PM

When might we expect to see a version for the Storm? :D

JoeLouie 12-30-2009 04:31 PM

<a href="http://www.BerryBlab.com/beta/BerryBlab.jad" target="_blank">http://www.BerryBlab.com/beta/BerryBlab.jad</a> is still v0.93
Where can I get 0.95?

concepts 12-31-2009 02:43 AM

Check the URL string is correct and Forum administrator has installed BerryBlab...

I tried to do what someone else here did and Reupload the ZIP file, but nothing is working, still getting the same error.

http://www.RUOfficial.com/board

Edit.. Kept saying 0.93 also, but after I Reset my permissions, turned my phone off and back on, and voilla! it now works!
(and says 0.95)

JoeLouie 12-31-2009 03:09 AM

Just tried that. Still says 0.93 for me.

Even if I download the .jad file to my PC and open it with notepad it still says 0.95. So, I'm not sure how you managed to get 0.95 lol. I wish I knew though.

How do you reset permissions? I assume it's in BB Options > Advanced Options > Applications, but I don't see a way to reset for BerryBlab. Thanks!

I still can't get it to reply to private messages.

footose 01-02-2010 04:32 PM

Hey Guys.

Sorry about the security issue. Everything is fixed up now.

The PM reply problem will be fixed today, and I will do a release tonight.

.93 is the actual latest version that you can download, so don't worry about the .95, since I haven't done an update yet.

PS. Storm Users...

Today is the day, there will be a beta storm version released sometime today. Just got to get over my hangover from last night :)

Storm 2 user who will love beta testing the app. Thank you for doing this.

WreckRman2 01-02-2010 06:22 PM

I just installed this on my website at rchangout.com and on my Sprint Tour 9630. Seems to work great!

scan-pa 01-03-2010 01:21 AM

Any update on the Storm / Storm 2 App?

footose 01-03-2010 03:52 AM

Storm Users:

http://www.BerryBlab.com/betastorm/berryblabstorm.jad

I will do something official tomorrow with an email, but I'm super tired. If you see this post, then you're part of the few that have the Storm Version now :) You will likely get an upgrade notice if you do install this sometime before tomorrow night.

Oh keep in mind if you did install the non-storm version of berryblab, you MUST uninstall it before installing this version or you will get some conflicting errors.

You skip my post ... I think becoause you are tired ;)

I do not speak or write Arabic Language, but I have been requested to convert this app to support it. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

As for your web icon, please send me your URL and I will be happy to take a look for you.

^^ The first issue is that the icon must be in the m_functions directory, in PNG format. Replace the default icon.

I will have to also install the Arabic language pack on my Blackberry. Know where I can download this from?

hi footose,

its in the same directory that you mentioned ? but still not changed

To download Arabic package Just go to your BlackBerry Desktop Manager then sellect Application Loader after that select Update Sofware --> Press Start button it will show you a box with all the updates that you didn't do it before.. one of the listed update is the languages. you will see Arabic

dont know why they didn't try logging in on their own. hahahaa

so basically u need to add a prompt when someone tries to post when not logged in

users are still trying to post with out logging in and thinking their posts aren't showing.

you need to put a log in notification when a user attempts to posts with out logging in.

also i have a user with a tour that could not reply to a private message.

+1.

Definately needs a "You are currently not logged in" at the top of all pages until the user is.

footose 01-04-2010 03:44 PM

Ok, I shall try to come up with a way to notify the user they are not logged in.

Space is a luxury as you know on a blackberry, so I'm trying to keep it all condensed as possible.

scan-pa 01-05-2010 02:00 AM

Harry,

One of my board users reported an error to me:

BB curve (8310) user reports getting this error when viewing a thread:

It says: uncaught exception string index out of range -1.

Any ideas?

honie 01-05-2010 06:55 PM

We are testing it out at www.policewives.org
2 of the testers, both using storm 1, verizon & OS 5.0 are receiving the error:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Expecting an element

when clicking on specific forums

footose 01-06-2010 02:35 AM

scan-pa: this error was brought to my attention on another thread. I have been workign to fix it. It's just a data error in thread information in one of the functions I created. I should have it fixed in the next release.

honie: this error looks like its because your forums are marked as private. I will also have this fixed in the next release. This was due to my recent "security" fix, I had to block the viewing of private forums, but I haven't handled this "blocking" on BerryBlab yet, so you get an error regarding not being able to view the forum.

You user will have to be logged in and the error will likely correct itself.

Other Stuff:

I'm excited about this upcoming release. I have implemented several requested improvements, but it will be a few days before I release both the storm and keyboard versions. I need to test a few more things, the next update includes:

- "Friendly" Error Messages
- Connection Fix - check if the user has been logged out by the system and retry the login
- Notify the user they are not logged in on the main screen, added a button to allow them to login
- Separated forum options and login options
- Added Security Features

I will likely release this as "BerryBlab 1.0".

Forum Owners:

Please remember to sign up on http://www.BerryBlab.com and add your forum to our database. This will be the only way I can "prove" that you have helped with this Beta Test so that I can send you this software for free for your Beta Testing troubles. This is also one of the best ways to keep in touch with the latest updates and events happening at BerryBlab.

ALSO

I know there have been a few emails from people regarding their site not working with berryblab and I haven't gotten back to them yet - it's been hectic (this isn't my full time job) and I'm hoping the next release fixes your issues.

vipe 01-06-2010 03:03 AM

I'm looking forward to the next release but will it address the problem of adding my site to the forum network at berryblab.com?

footose 01-06-2010 03:09 AM

vipe: sorry , I can't remember what your issue was again, what was your URL?

footose 01-06-2010 03:15 AM

vipe: the issue with your site is as follows:

Goto your m_functions directory

Open "Utilities.php"

On line 133 you will see:

foreach ($users_array['cc'] as &$theuser)

Replace it with the following:

foreach ($users_array['cc'] as $theuser)

This should fix all of the above issues you've had.

vipe 01-06-2010 03:21 AM

Many thanks for the quick response!

Log on 01-06-2010 04:21 AM

hi,

i'm working to fix all the application to support Arabic langauge, once I finish i'll inform you Footose

Note: I Registed in your site, but when I tried to add forum I got an error said

Quote:

There was an error adding your site to our database.

Common errors:

- You may not have the latest version of BerryBlab installed - latest version: 0.10
- The URL you entered is incorrect - Make sure you enter the full URL to your FORUM with trailing backslash. ex: http://forums.GenerationDUB.com/
- BerryBlab plugin is not insatlled

I have the latest version, my URL correct and I have BerryBlab installed in VB directory !!

Thank you

footose 01-06-2010 04:28 AM

Great stuff.

I have changed how the "encoding" works for the next version, it seems I hard coded the encoding type on the XML which is probably why it wasn't supporting the language options.

footose 01-06-2010 04:46 AM

Let me take a quick look..

footose 01-06-2010 04:53 AM

Log on: i was able to add your forum to the network by typing this exactly:

http://www.aoubh.com/vb/

Please try it again...

Is it possible you were adding Arabic to the descriptions? Again, I haven't tested BerryBlab.com with Arabic, so if you can add it with English for now and i'll see about getting the support in there for other languages.
