Ive tried http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQx6b-6kYMQ

Its not changing the tags as they still show as [url] if I manuaaly change it to [ame] then the video embeds fine.

Yep, same with me. Out of curiosity, are the default youtube definitions that come with this mod the same as the other ones from DJ's media definitions?

I deleted the default ones, as per the instructions from Jedi, then uploaded the new ones. I am just wondering if this might have been the cause?

Dream 02-08-2009 10:18 PM

Geek (or anyone else), sorry to bother, but do I need to change the container width settings for YouTube HD to work? The container width seems to shrink the parsed HD/HQ ones... But how can I do it only for those videos?

Read the readme and faq post. Its because the publisher of the video has disabled embedding.

First off, great mod it's working really well.

The only problem I'm having with it is this, on new posts it's not auto adding the ame tags, am I missing a setting somewhere?

I've done some searching on this but havn't found anything.

thanks for the great work!

Make sure you have all the files uploaded and that you have installed the product xml.

That URL (http://www.youtube.com/v/dZZfuCJ970w) is not the correct format. In fact, if you follow that URL, it forwards you to a full screen version of a crowded house video. The default AME install wont transform that.

Ive been running vbSEO without a problem as I am sure others have done?

Are you sure you have uploaded all of the latest files?

Again, that URL works fine on a vanilla vB board with a vanilla AME 2.5.4

I'm not sure what the differences between DJ's definitions and the default one is. I just know that the above works on the default :)

Getting the same problem as some of the others, a YouTube link of:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk0xWm8PMGQ

Comes out as:

Any ideas?

I am receiving this following error on my forum with this mod, any suggestions on how to fix this?

YouTube HD/HQ are wider, but the container setting of AME are 400xsomething and HQ/HD seems to be using those. I rather not link my forum here on org.

You havent uploaded all the files or they are uplaoded into the wrong location. Check the readme and the FAQ linked in the first post.

You can always change the size ($ameinf[height] and $ameinfo[width]) based on the definitions key using a conditional, however that would do it for all youtube entries unless you had seperate ones for HD and non HD.

HTHs!

Geekious Maximous......I had the mod just stop working out of nowhere and received those errors on the site using AME 2.0. That's why I started posting. So, I had all files uploaded with no issues until it just stopped working.

So, I decided to go ahead and upgrade to AME 2.5 (since it's the latest and greatest) and uploaded everything as described and zilch. :(

I'm getting the same errors everyone else is getting. Any possible issues with YouTube making a change or something? Well, that can't be because you mentioned that yours was working. Hmm....I'm puzzled and my folks are a little disappointed as I can't get the mod working. :(

I have a brilliant notion. You collect 1.00 each from each complaining member and if you get enought to entice Geek to log in as Admin I dare say you will be fixed in minutes. If not we will hire another programmer to dianose it for the same coin..... That is if you have 1000's of complaining members.

Gladhatter 02-09-2009 10:20 PM

Interestingly: http://www.youtube.com/v/dZZfuCJ970w as pointed out is not a valid link opens a link at: {http://www.youtube.com/swf/l.swf?swf...th_seconds=243 entire link will not show. }
Which reveals the proper link that is:

of course http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZZfu...layer_embedded is the same incomplete link above just adding &feature=player_embedded to the w

That does embed and shows in AME 2.5 and VB 3.81 just perfectly.

Gladhatter 02-09-2009 10:46 PM

Now that I have butchered my post up good I will try this again. Take the link you posted : http://www.youtube.com/v/dZZfuCJ970w that is not a valid UTUBE and add &feature=player_embedded to the link and it will then show up and work in AME perfectly as that would be the entire link at that point and ALL UTUBE links that are supposed to work do work in AME if you have it set up right.

ArnyVee 02-09-2009 10:52 PM

Gladhatter, I tried to add the url with the "&feature=player embedded" piece (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZZfu...layer_embedded) and it still didn't work for me.

It gave me the same <div>, etc, etc.... boy oh boy, when a mod works it's so great and when it has an issue it sure gets frustrating, doesn't it? :(

Any other suggestions?

Big-K 02-09-2009 11:15 PM

You have multiple versions of the same definition. Look through your definitions and remove one of the duplicates :)

Hmm I've used the Delta additions...

Okay what is the best way of clearing out everything and installing 2.5.4 from scratch?

Empty the definitions completely and reload the product?

The Geek 02-10-2009 04:58 PM

Hmm, uninstalling and then reinstalling the product will give you back the defaults, then you can re-import the other definitions you use.

HTHs

That's what I hoped...... I've just removed and completely loaded in v2.5.4 fresh and on entering the URL of:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk0xWm8PMGQ

I get:

Quote:

<div style="display: none;" id="ame_noshow_post_1234295232_7">
<a href="" title="You Tube" target="_blank">You Tube</a>
</div>
<div style="display: inline;" id="ame_doshow_post_1234295232_7">
<div align="center">
<table class="tborder" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" width="425" style="margin:10px 0">
<thead>
<tr>
<td class="tcat" colspan="2" style="text-align:center">
<a href="" title="You Tube" target="_blank">You Tube</a>
</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td class="panelsurround" align="center">
<object width="425" height="350">
<param name=''movie'' value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uk0xWm8PMGQ&ap=%2526fmt%3D18&fs=1"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uk0xWm8PMGQ&ap=%2526fmt%3D18&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="350" wmode="transparent"></embed></object>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table></div>
</div>
Now completely stumped as this worked prior to vB3.8.x :(

Any more ideas?

tekguru 02-10-2009 06:17 PM

Okay more weirdness ......

If I change the 'container' template setting to either null or 'ame_container' then the very next posting seems to work, but when another post is made it fails.

Interestingly enough each time I do a post preview the video shows up perfectly!

tekguru 02-10-2009 06:33 PM

Okay I've tried going back to version 2.02, and tried 2.5.4 completely reinstalling each time.

Tried vB vanilla templates etc, turning Mods on and off.

Again if I change the template it works for a second or two, bit not after that.

So unfortunately I'm going to have to disable the Mod until a fix is found :(

The Geek 02-10-2009 06:45 PM

can you PM me a temporary (and restrited) admincp account so I can see this in action (it works fine here). I just need to see AME's settings, an example URL and be able to review usergroup permissions.

Thanks

Ok you are saying if I am reading correctly you are seeing this at some point working in preview???? I have NEVER seen one show up in preview.

However you can see from the attached that your url works perfectly:

Geek/Tekguru, please let us know if/when it's fixed because it seems like it's the same issues that I'm having with my site.

Gladhatter 02-10-2009 10:35 PM

It will not be if but be when for sure. This is going to be resolved and you can count on it. Sorry that my coder has went AWOL for a time on me or I would be tempted to hire a solution myself but am sure that Geek can resolve it best anyways.

What looks to be happening is that there is some other hack already transforming the URLs before AME can get to them (or after which is messing them up). If you look at the URLs, they arent normal vB urls, they call a javascript function to track all outbound links:

pageTracker._trackPageview ('/outgoing/http_www_youtube_com_watch_v_uk0xWm8PMGQ');

It then changes the URL to

http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/redirect-to/?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv %3Duk0xWm8PMGQ

Which won't get matched by AME as it isn't a valid AME URL. I have glanced through your addons, but nothing specifically stands out. It may be a vbseo function to track outbound links, but i'm not too sure (I use vBSEO and mine doesnt do that).

Do you know what it is?

high6 02-10-2009 11:04 PM

It doesn't seem to find youtube videos.

ArnyVee 02-10-2009 11:35 PM

There is obviously some conflict. First one to find it, please post it! :up:

Lone Gunman 02-11-2009 01:39 AM

it worked great for me but was getting blank pages trying to open pms while this was enabled. uninstalled for now, but would like to reinstall after all the conflicts are worked out. Very cool mod and thanks for your hard work!
