hi~
I've upgraded my mod, but I am not able to award points to the user. But i am able to see the credits earned so far. I've also reverted the template but still not able to see the buttons.

please assist.

thanks

massizero 05-23-2008 04:18 PM

Great Mod!

2 questions..

1. Where can I set the starting credit for a new user? I couldn't find it either in admincp settings or group setting, and the new users start from 100 credits

2. Where in admincp do I decide which group (admin included) can give awards for specific post? and When a group is allowed to do that, where can the award be given?

- Post Award System
* AJAX Through Thread or Profile
What's that option? can I assign awards if I like a post?

thanks a lot
M

< Loves Vb Credits ! Reckon its the best MOD !

I want the credits integrated with the stats hack Cyb Advanced Forum Statistics.

I want a statement system, so ppl can view their monthly or weekly statements, including credits and debits.

I want integrations, with other hacks.. which possibly dont exist lol, to allow ppl to buy stuff, for their profile, avatar and acct.

Bring it on !!!!:up:

integrations with those hacks dont exist. also, the backend for producing stats or statements will not be there until the next major release of vbcredits after 1.4 final.

If you are talking about the post award system, the old setting was split into 4 different limits which you must set. to give the same power to admins as they used to have, use all -1 (unlimited).

All of the settings you are looking for can be found in the usergroup editor. The new registration credits is the Induction award. The post award system is a way for you to grant (or take away) credits out of thin air basically, and the limits to prevent it from getting out of hand (or unlimited for trusted groups like admins) are also in the usergroup settings.

The new registration credits is the Induction award.:

It is set to 1 but for that group always starts from 100 :(
any reason why does it happen?

What about the credits.gif image? Where should it pop out?
thanks for your interest

Darkwaltz4 05-25-2008 03:10 PM

keep in mind that if you have email verification, users actually are inducted into two usergroups. first, the "users awaiting email confirmation" and then "registered users". I recommend putting 0 for awaiting confirmation, and 1 for registered users. Also to avoid confusion make sure induction is unchecked from the applicable negation awards in the global award settings for vbcredits.

credits.gif shows up for the post award system only. if a group has a nonzero limit available it will appear and be the icon for the ajax menu that pops up.

Hi, about the induction It is set "0" to all the group and "1" to the "new user" group, but they still start from 100 when they sign up. Is there any table of the vbcredits menu where this 100 credits could be set on?

About the "nonzero limit", sorry, I cannot find it! This nonzero limit should be set for the usergroup (adminsitrator, moderators) who will assing the awards?

I go to VbCredits/ Manage usergroup awards/ usergroup
I can find the 4 sections "vBCredits Awards", "vBCredits Permissions", "Donations and the Post Award System", "Banking, Loans and Drawings", but I don't see the nonzero limit area
thanks again for your help.
M

Darkwaltz4 05-26-2008 04:56 PM

nope, you must have missed one which still has the default 100 induction amount.

the last 4 settings in the donation and post award system block of settings need to have nonzero values (that is, values that are not 0...) if you want unlimited, put -1 for all 4.

I'll let you know about the induction, now it is all set like you told me to be.
ABout the credits.gif image, I put "-1" in the last 4 settings, either for the administrator usergroup setting, and the user usergroups setting. So technically I should see this image (link is in the folder http://www.mywebsite.com/forum/image...ns/credits.gif) but i don't see it..

code in my postbit legacy should be correct also..
Code:

<if condition="$show['credits_postadd']">
                        <span id="creditsmenu_$post[postid]"><a href="credits.php?$session[sessionurl]p=$post[postid]" rel="nofollow" id="credits_$post[postid]"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/credits.gif" alt="<phrase 1="$post[username]" 2="$vbphrase[credits]">$vbphrase[credits_threadaward]</phrase>" border="0" /></a></span>
                        <if condition="$show['popups']"><script type="text/javascript"> vbcdt_register("$post[postid]")</script></if>

Thanks :)
M

Darkwaltz4 05-26-2008 10:37 PM

i do not recommend allowing unlimited use of the post award system for regular users as they will begin to give each other billions and billions of credits and thats an understatement.

it should appear next to the report post icon and reputation granting icon etc

MSheraz86 05-27-2008 01:37 AM

Hey Dark, i've just come across a small problem. I've set all of the awards to 0 as it turns out that members who make new threads get 2 points and if they reply to threads then they get 1 point without me allocating such points in the first place :(

I've been spending the past 2 hours trying to see how they're getting 2 points for new thread using a secondary account and can't seem to figure it out.

I want to offer them 5 points for new threads so is it worth me setting that to 3 (3 + the random 2 making it 5) and 1 point for posting replies so leaving that option to 0 cause of the random 1 point out of the blue for posting replies? As this might be a bug with the current version?

If it's not a bug then could you please help me solve this little problem? :D

Thanks

(P.S. It's 3:35am lol so my apologies if the above doesn't make 100% sense :p)

k, thank you, now I get how it works, but for some reason I still cannot see the credits.gif image. I checked all the templates edit too (as in the install txt file..) but nothing, this image doesn't want to appear..
Meanwhile I changed in the template the condition to show the credits image, and I used the same as the "infractions" one. So now the credits.gif image shows up to the admin (because the infractions one is active) and the link related (http://www.myspace.com/forum/credits.php?p=xxxx) actually works fine.
So the problem should really be in the "if" condition.
If you have any other suggestion where the problem could be in the original If condition I'd really appreciate it.

Another little problems I've found is in Vbadvance:
if i click on the "check" link in the welcome box in vbadvance the link is
http://www.mywebsite.com/credits.php?do=banking
and of course I get an error page.
If I enter the forum and I click on "check" in the welcome box of the forum the link is
http://www.mywebsite.com/forum/credits.php?do=banking
and it works fine.

any tip how could I solve this problem?

i am waiting for a german language file. anyone here who have one ?

leylandfor 05-28-2008 10:48 AM

can someone please inform me how i configure vbcredits so that it doesnt deduct credits when people are not active on the forum

phaunt 05-28-2008 07:42 PM

Quick Question, If I have someone a part of a few usergroups and each usergroup has a different award amount for certain things is that a conflict? I have my basic group as 50 for referrals but if they're in the VIP group they get 500 credits for a referral, but I'm only seeing the 50 be put into their account unless I remove them from the basic group.

Preech 05-28-2008 07:44 PM

Massiero.
In your vBCredits settings, there is a area that ask you to put in all files that need to be associated with vBAdvanced. trying typing in file name, which I think is vbcredits.php. I'm at work right now, so I can' give you a more definite answer.

phaunt 05-28-2008 08:03 PM

Nevermind.. YOu answered it for me.. THank you :)

i add the memberinfo temp and this no to be displayed ..
what i to do ?

rknight111 05-31-2008 01:07 PM

Im thinking about adding this feature to my board, the only thing im wondering is my members are quite compedative and have built there casino $$ up quite a bit, now what would happen to that when I add this, is there a converter for that, or a process, or is this not compadable with that?

Thanks,
RON

Sarcoth 05-31-2008 09:12 PM

Thanks for the mod, I am using this with the ibProArcade.

I added a scheduled task to run every hour but am getting more out of it than I'd like. My goal is to increase the jackpot for every arcade game by 5 every hour. Here's my code.

Code:

$Jackpot = $vbulletin->db->query("SELECT * FROM vBull_games_list");
while($row = $vbulletin->db->fetch_array($Jackpot)) {
    $vbulletin->db->query_write("update vBull_games_list set jackpot = jackpot + '5'");
}

Rather than going up by 5, it is increasing by 40. Since I only have 8 games installed right now, it appears to by multiplying 5 x 8; is it running 8 times for each game?

What change should I make to have it only run once per game? Any idea?

Thank you for your time.

EDITED:

Well, this appears to have fixed my problem; I think there is an easier way. I remember doing an update similiar to this once upon a time, but I can't remember how.

Code:

$Game = 0;
$Jackpot = $vbulletin->db->query("SELECT * FROM vBull_games_list");
while($row = $vbulletin->db->fetch_array($Jackpot)) {
        $Game = $Game + 1;
        $vbulletin->db->query_write("UPDATE vBull_games_list SET jackpot = jackpot + '1' WHERE gid = '$Game' ");
}

PGAmerica 06-02-2008 09:14 PM

I installed this mod and love it. However, at the bottom of every page is a piece of text that says "vBCredits v1.4 Copyright ?2007 - 2008, PixelFX Studios". This is nopt a problem. What is a problem is that when the links are clicked, it goes to these sites and leaves mine.

What I want to do is make the links open a new browser window. I cannot seem to find in the templates or phrases where these links are set. Can somebody please tell me how to make a modification to this so I can just add "target='_blank'" to these links?

PGAmerica 06-03-2008 04:33 PM

How do you turn off loan all together?

MorrisMcD 06-04-2008 08:03 PM

I still have the old version of vbbux/vbplaza on my board.. I know this is a noobish question for many of you.. But there has to be a way to simply copy over the amount the current users have in the vbbux and vbbank fields in the user table to the fields used by vbcredits.. Could someone kindly help me out with a query to do so?

I found how to turn of loans but now I have 2 new questions:

1) Is negative awards working yet? Last time I asked Dark said it was turned off for the last release.

2) Where is the log of all member transactions? I can't seem to find that anywhere.

Thanks for the help.

Scarface Claw 06-05-2008 08:53 PM

The release notes mentions that VBC can be used in conjunction with other mods, does anyone know of such mods?

Did you make a forum override that set it as not 0? If this is still a problem PM me an admin login with usergroup permissions and I will check your settings.

The casino can be configured to work with vbcredits. I forget if the hack had its own internal points system or not, but if so I will make something to convert from it and then you select to have it use credits.

You could just do this:

PHP Code:

$vbulletin->db->query_write("UPDATE " TABLE_PREFIX "games_list SET jackpot = jackpot + 5");

and use whatever number you want instead of 5 to increase every jackpot by.

1) all negation awards are working except for post/thread awards. Those do nothing.

2) You can use the moderate donations/award link in the acp to see all of that, or if you have the usergroup permission to view all user's transaction logs, a Check link will show up next to users' account amounts to take you to their specific log

On my site is a list of some addons that I have to integrate with other popular hacks. There are more that I generally dont track which you can just use a setting within that hack to make it use credits (for example the casino)

sdavis2702 06-08-2008 12:09 AM

Everything works but I can not see credits in the postbit... I have been trying to figure out why for a while now. Any help?

Darkwaltz4 06-08-2008 12:21 AM

Make sure...

-you are looking at a style which you successfully applied the template edits to
-the global display options are set to everyone, or you belong to a group that can see private credits if set to private
-you and the person you are looking at dont belong to a group set as blocked from vbcredits
-the group the person you are looking at isnt set to hide credit totals
-the forum you are in isnt set to hide credit totals

sdavis2702 06-08-2008 11:52 AM

Seriously man... don't pay me any attention. I have installed maybe 40 hacks in the last 2 months and every one of them have gone somewhat smooth until now. I somehow managed to neglect all 14 template edits haha. Now that I think back I had to leave and I was supposed to remember to come back and do it. I didn't. I thought I did though... ugh.

Sorry man it's all working now. Thanks alot for a great job!!!

1) so if I delete posts and threads that are irrelevant, it won't deduct their points? that's too bad.

2) with logs, I was hoping there was a page where you can see all logs from all members and not a specific member. Maybe another addition in the future?

thanks for you help.

Darkwaltz4 06-09-2008 08:36 PM

1) Yes, for now until 1.4 final when that will be restored

2) Thats why I offered that you check out that ACP link which has all of the transactions between all members in one place. It will be expanded in the future in the next major release of vbcredits after 1.4 final

The answer is related to both of you.

The post award system is what you are looking for to award posts directly on threads. In the usergroup options there is a section for each group to set limits for the power to award credits out of thin air. Using a value of 0 in any limit will restrict access completely, or use -1 to make one of the limits be ignored (and -1 for all 4 for unlimited use). I recommend that unlimited be given to trusted groups only such as admin, and should you choose to grant it for anyone else, think carefully about the limits you want to impose or it will get out of hand very quickly. In the specialty settings of vbcredits is the option to publicly display the post awards under the respective posts.

Raptor 06-11-2008 10:00 AM

Thanks for the reply

However I already have the post awards set to -1 (in fact changes not made since upgrade) and I still cant see any options for awarding posts ?
