Sorry, I'll try and make myself a bit clearer :)

Our forum obviously has a set style in the style manager for the layout colours, icons, etc. Our forum is a pale green colour and stands out from the average webpage meaning some people can't browse from work (not that they should be ;)).

What I'd like to do is make a much simpler style. A very plain grey or white page with a different header logo. Something less obtrusive. I'd then like each user to be able to choose between the different styles depending on what they want. Those at work can choose the plain style whilst others can keep the standard forum style.

Why don't you just make two styles and let users select them ?

I don't see what the chatbox has to do with that.

I guess I could, but then they'd be able to use the other style for the forum that I'd rather they didn't. It's not a massive problem though :)

Rules appears only if you have entered rules in the admincp :)

Have you uploaded the new javascript in the clientscript directory.

I think that if you have not actually you should have an error when using ie upon click.

hm this happends often but not everytime but sometimes when i try submitting msg it never goes through the shoutbox

edit: nvm i just notice the msg i sent was % which is part of the utf8
and as usual the vbulletin staff cant help me when they admit that ajax feature been fixed on 3.7 and still say the ajax is problematic and cant be fixed on 3.6.8 patch level 2

Damnz, I just gotta say: this new shoutbox looks amazing vBDev. I've been following the replies and I just got to wait till the next version comes out so hopefully, all the bugs will be fixed. Since I have much faith in your coding qualities, I bet they will all be gone!

I have one request and one question.

Request: Is it possible to get the shoutbox to work together with new posts on the forum. I know InfernoTech made vBShout this way that when a new topic was made, it would announce it in the shoutbox. This is just a lovely feature and I was wondering if you could look into it (if you aren't already).

Question: I read that it's possible to create multiple chatrooms with the same shoutbox. Having multiple chatrooms, is that going to increase the server load? I ask this because I would love to have 4 or 5 rooms for my site. I just don't want a high server load because my site keeps crashing every now and then with the current shoutbox as it is.

About the new topic announcement, it is something that could be done yes but It wouldn't use the command system which might be a bit bad :(

Anyway this is not a feature I would develop right now.

About the rooms, no It doesn't add server load.

However, the way I coded it, to add a room you have to attach a command to it. So to create new rooms you would have to kinda modify the team command to make 5 different commends (replacing all "team" by another word should do it ;)).

i activated the BBcodes by going to manage commands and edited the /me channel and after that the smiley shows up after using /me ... sorry my bad

It's really screwed up for me. All the options in the Groups are blank and I don't see anything.

I was running on 1.5 and 3.7 beta with vBa and mgc was running smoothly in forum home as well as vba home.

Just upgraded to the evo version - uninstalled the previous one, delted the old files and installed the new evo as a fresh copy.

But the chatbox is not loading at all..not showing up, I have tried to enable display features, even added the $mgc_ variable to forum pages, but it wasn't showing up not even in archive.

how do i get it working?

That's honestly very strange. Have you followed install instructions correctly ?

For vBa integration, the things have changed a bit.

I uploaded the files as you said in the manual, uploaded language file etc....I have VB 3.62...I can see the menus in the adminpanel and the chatbox is activated....

I disabled the vba integration for forum page and still the chatbox isn't showing up.

Also as I said i tried to add $mgc_ variable manually to template files of few pages like arcade but still the chatbox is not displayed.

Ie shows me an error but I am not at home so can't launch firefox javascript debugger to find more info about that error. I'll test it tonight or tomorrow (depending on my gf will :D).

To remove it you have to edit the mgc_cb_evo_chatbit template and in the first column of the table (first td) remove everything :)
