Hi Paul, thanks for your work! I just installed this mod again (finally).

As you can see in the image below, 'Currently active users' verses 'Total members that have visited the forum today' numbers disagree.

As I recall, currently active users is correct. Most users ever online (in 1 day) was 22, 0n 12-26-07.

I’m in the middle of customizing the What's Going On info, so the duplication of information will eventually disappear, I’m just trying to figure out why I’m seeing this discrepancy.

Any ideas?

There is nothing wrong with the numbers posted, what exactly are you querying ?

CPOWA 11-07-2008 05:19 PM

Hi Paul,

I'm confused with the "Most users ever online was 22, 12-26-2007 at 05:43 PM." in "Currently Active Users:" with "The most members online in one day was 2, 06/17/2008." in " Total members that have visited the forum today:".

Now, today, it's correct.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/11/40.png

Where 6/17/2008 came from is beyond me because, there have definately been more then 2 users online since then but, I think the point is moot since it's correct now.

Thanks for your quick reply and I'm sorry for the delay in replying to you.

Best Regards,
Paul

Paul M 11-07-2008 06:50 PM

Most users includes guests, not just members.

To get the 6/17/2008 I would say you had the old most members mod installed earlier in the year. Installing this automatically removes that, but does not erase any total it may have stored. This mod would pick that old total up again.

I currently have the older version hack found here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=121883

Would like to upgrade to this one. Do I first uninstall the older version the install this one, or can I simply overwrite it?

Thanks.

I just tried that and now I'm getting weird characters like: Total members that have visited the forum in the last 24 hours: %1$s 930

What could be causing this error?

jerx 11-27-2008 07:35 AM

Sorry, replied to the wrong thread. I updated vb 3.8 version.

Goomzee 11-27-2008 07:56 AM

I would guess you have customised the mod template sometime in the past, you need to revert it.

HarleyK 11-27-2008 02:09 PM

Thanks for this great mod. :)

NexDog 11-28-2008 12:02 AM

After I upgraded I have a small issue thatI've fixed before but can't remember how. The stats show:

"The most members online in one day was 1, 12-31-1969."

And I have the same default PHP date from Current Active Users:

"Most users ever online was 1, 12-31-1969 at 07:00 PM."

Any ideas on how to fix?

same here

WreckRman2 12-09-2008 05:37 PM

Something isn't right for me... I just noticed on my website:

Total members that have visited the forum today: 73 http://www.rchangout.com/forums/imag...hos_online.gifThe most members online in one day was 125, Today.

Paul M 12-09-2008 07:31 PM

Its fine, its simply due to your members being in different timezones, your visit total will catch up as the day progresses.

WreckRman2 12-10-2008 05:49 PM

And you are correct... thanks Paul!

ecky 12-16-2008 08:05 PM

Installed, thank you.

MuTheMatrix 12-23-2008 12:58 AM

Nice add-on

thanks for this.

XxSparks 12-23-2008 08:17 AM

Fantastic Paul, just absolutely fantastic, installed, and working perfectly! :)

But I do have a question, I've literally looked through 21 pages of no answers, other then your "Track guest visits".

But, I'm wondering however, how can you exclude a certain User group from being displayed?

Paul M 12-23-2008 11:22 AM

There is no facility to stop certain usergroups being displayed.

Problemsolver 12-23-2008 07:26 PM

I heard that u can make so that only certain usergroups see this but I am not sure where to do this?

I guess you go to the cache_template and then enter something in the $ugroups =

but do you write "administrators", administrators, 'administrators' or what?

da_j 12-23-2008 08:49 PM

tnx for the nice add_on ;)

No, you put the usergroup ids in the apropriate vb option settings.

GSeybold 12-24-2008 03:13 PM

Hi Paul
Pardon my ignorance but where would this display on the forum and does the "Currently active users" area in the "What's going on" box take care of this?

Sorry tech knob here but this looks like something I can actually install.

Gail

Paul M 12-24-2008 03:39 PM

It displays on the forum homepage, in the "What's Going On" area.

Currently active users is exactly that, just current users, not everyone who has visited today.

GSeybold 12-24-2008 04:02 PM

Ok thanks so much. I have a lot of Vb stuff to learn. :) And thank you very much for the quick response.

pigpog 12-26-2008 06:46 PM

Hi Paul, Merry Christmas. :)

I love this mod and I've been using it for about a month, but in the one month the forum has been open we've been getting an escalating number of bots who I've been banning.

What I want to know is this: is it possible to prevent the banned usergroup from appearing in the "total members that have visited this forum" section? I'd prefer guests and prospective new members not to see banned names amongst the genuine members.

Please let me know if this is something you can do, or if you know of a mod I can use to compliment yours to do the job.

Thanks again for a lovely mod,

Kate xxx
