I have re-uploaded every single file, reinstalled but I still get the error on this single thread. Is there any issue where the Thanks on a page can get corrupted in the dB?

I need access to someones ACP that is getting this error. I can't fix it w/o being able to play with the error.

Hi Abe, I double checked that all files are uploaded and reviewed each template and confirmed the hooks exist.

I even re-uploaded the files and the page still refreshes after clicking the thanks button.

My vb 3.6.8pl2 on my own server is working correctly.

If you want to take a gander here is the url: http://YourMichigan.com

I don't know what else to look at.

Thanks in advance.

Can i look at your ACP? I can't really fix any other way.

Abe,

Did you see this thread? I'm running 3.6.8 and, as I stated, it's only happened with two different threads for no apparent reason. I have been using the Post Thank You hack for several months and this error occurred with just two threads very recently. I have the latest Post Thank You hack installed.

Please, if you can give me ACP access, i can fix it. I need the links to the error pages also.

I'm currently using version 7.2 of Thanks with vBulletin 3.6.8 One problem I'm having though is deleting all thanks made by a specific member using the Special Action. When I enter the member's user ID (ie: 27668) and press enter, I get the following error:

Any help appreciated. I need to delete that member's thanks, since he spammed the forums with over 50k thanks.

Can I check your ACP?

Thanks Abe1. I went ahead and just uninstalled then reinstalled the hack to clear the corrupted stats, so there's not much to look at now. Not sure how the member was able to basically make 50k thanks in a couple of hours, but I was running an older version of the hack (5.x I think) when it happened. It's now running the latest version. He was even able to thank posts in threads that were viewable only to moderators. Hopefully it had something to do with the older version.

ellyssian 02-20-2008 07:40 AM

well as a "blonde guy" i need to ask..this mod works only in default v bulletin style....?or it can be done and in other styles...and if so can it be done with the "hide tag" involved with the post thank you hack..so that only the guys..that say thanks...could see the hide links..?in advance in black smart skin i see only thanks this...thank you in advance...!!!!

Can be used with any style but I know nothing about a hide hack.

Great hack! Thanks. :)

rrr 02-22-2008 09:14 PM

I searched this thread, but didn't find an answer.

I just installed this today and everything looks great except that the "number of thanks received" and the "number of thanks given" stats aren't showing in postbit legacy.

I put the required manual template edit in both postbit and postbit_legacy, but the text still isn't showing up.

Any ideas?

I just realized the same thing. It does count when it's thanked but it only shows when I'm in my PM box. And yes, I have two styles. What should I do?

Hope I could fix this.
Thank you, Abe!

My users are tickled with this, and I'm tickled how easy it was to give it to them.

lovelypk 02-24-2008 07:14 PM

working perfect for me but i have 1 question.

You have to move the $template_hook near the controls then.

Hypo 02-25-2008 02:58 PM

Hello,

first I'd like to thank you very much for this modification, it's really massive !

Though, I've got a bug (I think) in this hack.
I regulary hear complainments about that users can't see the hidden part after thankin', not even after refreshing. Also I hear a lot that they can see the hidden part after thankin', but if they go away and come back to see the hidden part again, it won't show up again.

Also I get this error if I want to search at all thanked post for a user:
Code:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
Is this a setting or somethin' else?

Thanks in advance,
Hypo

I only have one style that I use for my forums, but there is still the "default" style installed on my forums, that is not in use.

Is there anything I should be double checking?

I found the problem.

In the "Insructions - vb-3-6-6 - vb-3-6-7.txt" file, the template edit instructions are wrong.

I compared them to the edit instructions for vb-3-6-8 and it looks like this part:

Code:

find:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
<div>$post[icqicon] $post[aimicon] $post[msnicon] $post[yahooicon] $post[skypeicon]</div>
--------------------------------------------------------------------

place BEFORE:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
$template_hook[postbit_userinfo_right]
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Should be this:
Code:

find:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
<if condition="$show['infraction']"><div>$vbphrase[infractions]: $post[warnings]/$post[infractions] ($post[ipoints])</div></if>
--------------------------------------------------------------------

place BEFORE:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
$template_hook[postbit_userinfo_right_after_posts]
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The template hook name seems to have been renamed.

I changed the template hook name to match the 3.6.8 instructions and it worked fine.

Hope this helps :)

rrr 02-25-2008 11:33 PM

Is there any way to make a conditional so that the "number of thanks" in the postbit only shows if the person has received at least 1 thanks?

akulion 02-27-2008 09:21 AM

Thank you sir this is by far the most useful mod for my forum.

I have many many many mods but nothing compares to the simplicity yet great usability of this mod. Thank you once again for making it, supporting it and continuing to develop it. Vb should have this feature by default in it, without doubt!

Your brother in humanity,
Aku

Johnnnie 02-27-2008 05:18 PM

For me (vb 3.6.8)

it's out off the box, great!

even have build "donate button" build in now

thx

haytham 02-27-2008 05:38 PM

Hi
I have done all the template edits, uploaded the gif to the buttons and installed the product but the button won't show. There isn't even a place for it so I can check why it's missing. Anyone can help? I am using 3.6.8

sorry perhaps stupid answer, depends on the settings (no thanks on own post) then there come's no button into own post

Brew 02-27-2008 11:09 PM

I was looking around for a Thank You button on the first post here....But alas, vB.org isn't using this mod.

So I'll say Thanks here!

:)

Wonderful Hack,

I have a great Idea for The Developer for another Version of this Hack, Instead of having Thanks why not have Laughs, Would the The Developer of this hack be possible to do that and Publish it as I'd really like that and also I think other people here would aswell.l

Thanks

Saxon 02-28-2008 10:30 PM

Thanks for the hack, my members are going thanks crazy.

Would it be possible to include an option to limit the number of thanks per day?
Also, is it possible to make the "thanked box" under a post auto collapsed? So if you want to see who thanked, you need to click to expand in order to view the thankees. (is that even a word??)

Taragon 02-29-2008 05:47 PM

Would it be possible, by a template edit perhaps, to turn the 'Post Thanks' tab off in MEMBERINFO?
Currently it is looking for $template_hook[profile_left_last], but I can't figure it out

GameWizard 03-01-2008 01:04 PM

Found a small bug:

When the original thread starter presses "Remove All" the 'thanks' button appears in the postbit_legacy, even though the option is set to not allow the ability to thank oneself. Pressing this button does nothing, it just dissapears. It seems the check for this option is ignored when removing all the thanks, just thought I'd let you know.

Hi,

Thank you so much for the update.

Will the option of deleting thanks from deleted posts delete them from posts deleted before we updated the hack?

noted by abe1 to other "have to see APC"

What do i need to do? Would love to use this... I installed it on 3.6.8 and it appears almost as nothing has changed at all on our forum.

The way it work, it would be not possible normally. Would have to be by post and not forum wide.
