crimsy 12-04-2007 03:14 AM

There is a bug with the "/me" command

I type
Quote:

/me reads.
and it outputs * crimsyreads

No space in the middle. Can you fix that?

~crimsy :)

hddstudio 12-04-2007 11:55 AM

Yes, also the same problem here....small actually....but very nice to see it works with space between nick and next words

terracore 12-04-2007 05:47 PM

Looks great. But admin's can read and delete chats but can't participate. Why is that?

Chatbox Missing Collapse Button in Current Photopost Pro

I just noticed that the current version of the chatbox is missing the collapse button in current version Photopost Pro.

Previous version of Photopost the button shows...

ShackMaster 12-06-2007 02:32 AM

I mentioned this several posts ago, but never got a reply about it...

My Smilie box is messed up... it extends across the entire page and only includes 5 columns and two rows and you have to scroll forever to see those.
This is still a problem for us.

ShackMaster 12-06-2007 03:19 AM

Also... is there anyway to set it up so that only certain members can use it?

The above issues have been resolved... thanks!

However, the "Users active in last 30 minutes: 1 (1 members and 0 guests)" does not function properly. I can have this open in another screen and come back to it in 10-15 minutes and it does not show me as being active. Someone who has posted in the last 10-15 minutes is not listed as being active in the last 30 minutes.

This is open for guest to view if you would like to see it. Chatbox

ShackMaster 12-06-2007 11:31 AM

I would like to allow one of my mods to be able to set the options for Chatbox/Chatbox Full, but as it is I would have to allow him access to all of our options... and I'm not willing to do this.

Is there any way to set it up where the options can be on the Chatbox Full page or have their own settings separate from Admin and allow certain User ID's to set them? Maybe take them out from under vB Options and give them there own header so that Mods can be allowed to edit the setting?

Thanks!

ShackMaster 12-06-2007 03:16 PM

This is a quote from one of my mods...

Quote:

Another extremely useful feature would be sounds. A lot of times when I pop into the chat room it's just Bill and I and Bill's watching TV or something. We need something to get the attention of the lone person who's there first and sick of staring at an empty chat room. Something like a doorbell when someone enters.
Any plans on adding sounds?

AWJunkies 12-06-2007 05:54 PM

It's probably because your "Session Timeout" (Cookies and HTTP Header Options) is set to 15 minutes, which means "user is gone from forums, not only from ChatBox".

@MiBF

Is this post intended as an advice on how to add cache? Otherwise i don't really understand why you are posting about vBShout in this thread.

Mecho 12-07-2007 01:52 PM

Suggestions for next release :

1 - exclude usergroup for new X posts option .
2 - an option to set just one color for X usergroup .

Thanks , hope u add them :)

No this is just a small cut from the code. I’m not a coder.
I just request such a cache to be added to the ChatBox, since I do believe it would be a useful and even necessary optimization. Moreover, the MRTG graph demonstrates just that.
The support for vBShout is nonexistent, and, unfortunately, it has a very bad functionality.
Cyb ChatBox is far more advanced, yet it has one limitation, which makes it unusable either – absence of an HTML Cache, so that results in the additional processor load up, which, in its turn – considerably slows down the forum.

To my great disillusion the developers just ignore my messages and are busy with some other "things"...

TonyComix 12-10-2007 03:57 PM

I like to have the most recent post in the chat box to be on the bottom, but when I set it up like that, the scroll bar won't go down to show it, but stays in the place. There a way to set up so the scroll bar automatically stays down whenever a new post in it has been made?

Skublum 12-10-2007 09:22 PM

We're having a problem with the Chatbox. After about four hours of regular usage, the misc.php file has inadvertently disappeared. We have no clue how it was lost, and it is obviously essential to the box itself.

Help? I'm thinking I should make a misc.php from scratch, and maybe that'll solve our problem?

IvyKeepMommy 12-11-2007 01:27 PM

Nice chatbox!

A couple of things I would love to see this chatbox do/have:

* The ability for users to change the size of the font that they view in the chatbox (several of my members have said that the font appears teeny tiny to them, while others can read it fine)

*The ability to download the archives (even if only the admin can do this)

*It would be nice if the users could select a different font as well as color

*A private chat or Moderators chat channel w/notification when a new chat is posted would be helpful

Love the archive (just wish I could easily download it), love the clean lines, love how smilies are handled.

My existing chatbox can appear on the main page and within each thread (so users can browse the site while still participating in the chat)

ShackMaster 12-11-2007 01:42 PM

Rats... well... my guys tell me that if there are no plans for sound (or at least an alarm for when someone enters) that it's no good for them. Guess we'll have to trash it. I suppose this is good for someone that only does chat and is sitting on top of it all day to know when someone enters or doesn't. What a shame it's so nice but still lacking. Oh well.

misanthrope 12-11-2007 02:04 PM

Sound for a chatbox is a bit overboard. You're the only person that has asked for it so I am seriously doubting the guy would even begin to entertain the idea of adding it. There is no pleasing everyone but this is a great hack and there are many happy users. This hack is hardly considered lacking, do some homework before bashing this guys work.

KM7 12-12-2007 06:58 AM

Fantastic Product!

Thanks alot Cyb for this great chatbox.

It would be nice if you can talk to a member in private, like in a new tab or in a new window and sure the ability to change font size.

directprint 12-12-2007 10:29 AM

Awesome modification, It's a really simple chat that is added in seconds. Well done Cybernetec.
I have nominated you for Mod of the Month.

setubal,

This error has nothing with the Cyb - ChatBox as this product does not add or work with "nbmsgshowchatbox" table/column.

Yes, your right sorry Cyb system.

Its photoplog problem.

Heyho!

Thanks for the Mod! Is it possible to put the chatbox in for just 1 Forum? I would like to display it only above one single forum, not on the mainpage or anywhere else.

Thanks,
Greets
DrKNickel

Great Mod, Installed.

BackSideSA 12-12-2007 08:38 PM

anyone using this on 3.6.3?

clayh456 12-13-2007 06:48 AM

Is it possible to enlarge the viewable area of the chatbox when it's shown on the forum index at the bottom? I looked for code in templates and couldn't really find what I was looking for. I'd just like to increase the height a small bit. Sorry if this has been asked/answered, as I couldn't find it.

Excellent mod btw... all of your mods are very stout & professional, and the most reputable thing about you is the incredibly easy installations of your mods. Many people make great mods with crappy installations that deter people from even bothering with trying the mod. That is never the case with Cyb mods. Keep up the good work.

ibuddy 12-16-2007 04:50 PM

hey cybernetec I noticed a bug.....if a member puts [img] versus [IMG] it will work.

I blocked both [img] & [IMG] and it wont block both can you get this fixed please cuz members are posting images in the chatbox and i hate that shit.

ByG SteAm 12-17-2007 12:32 AM

Works great easy install! Thanks!

Canis Firebrand 12-18-2007 04:56 PM

Would it be possible to add in the ability to have a user defined setting of whether they want to see the chat box or not?

A custom profile field that would have the choices

View chatbox - yes
View chatbox - no

Then when the forum home loads, it checks that variable and displays the chatbox only if the option is set to yes.

The reason I ask is because at my site, one user has the whole forum blocked by web filters when the forum displays and tries to load the chatbox.

WHat I had to do was create a new usergroup and put him in it and setting that group as not allowed to view chatbox. Now, he can visit the forum, but when he logs on from home, he can't see the chatbox. If he had the ability to turn it on or off in his Usercp, that would solve the problem.

As it stands now, I had to make a new user account for him to log on from home so he can use the chatbox.

Thanks for a great product and apologies for the rambling in relation to a suggestion.
