angkor408 03-01-2007 03:52 AM

thanx for the info I had fixed now by going to /forums/client script. The only problem now when I use the option under BB Manager to test this link from youtube I got this error:

Warning: sprintf() [function.sprintf]: Too few arguments in /includes/class_bbcode.php on line 1028

This is the youtube link I tried to add:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Agd_xWWl3_A

Also, let say if I try to post a new msg do I insert a link or picture to allow youtube video to display. I'm very new to this video stuff. Thank! Angkor

angkor408 03-01-2007 04:35 AM

Ok I got it to work now! The only problem when I click on the link to add video it prompt " this website is using scripted windows to ask you for information. IF you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows. I have to click yes all the time inorder to view the video. Is there a way to turn the scripted off?

Thanks that really help me. I wanted to know how to get around that

dbirosel 03-01-2007 05:27 AM

Photobucket work for this addon yet?

BACANERIA 03-01-2007 06:17 AM

Installed But please be more specific for the next members who try to install it

KevNJ 03-01-2007 06:35 AM

Having problems with the YouTube Links. Anyone else? I tried the fix on page 18 but that doesn't seem to work either.

angkor408 03-01-2007 12:25 PM

This fixed! It would be nice if it automatically not to prompt for the script. I'm sure most members will be confuse what to click and possible they might thought it is a virus to accept anything when they browsing. This just a thought. Tim

Mine says "Insert Link" instead of "Insert Video". How can I change that?

Chris

fringehead 03-04-2007 09:37 PM

Anyway we can get liveleak.com in this one? Here's the url:

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=214_1172852852

Embed code:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="450" height="370" wmode="transparent" data="http://www.liveleak.com/player.swf?autostart=false&token=214_1172852852">< param name="movie" value="http://www.liveleak.com/player.swf?autostart=false&token=214_1172852852">< param name="wmode" value="transparent"><param name="quality" value="high"></object>

Thanks,

Sean

How do I get it to read "Insert Video" instead of "Insert Link"?

Chris

Mutt 03-05-2007 12:48 AM

I posted a plugin which blocks video bbcodes from being used in sigs. thought some of you would want it

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....52&postcount=2

tarantulas 03-05-2007 07:24 AM

You edited clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js and when the new vb version comes out, it will replace your code, isn't it?

And I'm seeing the problem now because the 3.6.5 just came out.

lucybb 03-05-2007 09:27 AM

I'm getting the IE7 warning every time... Can anyone tell me is there a way to fix this?

Thanks

Lucy

Chris

Edit the ALT tag in editor_toolbar_on and postbit_quickedit and showthread_quickreply

ravencr 03-05-2007 11:35 AM

I tried changing the "[Insert_link]", but then it didn't work at all. I don't see how to change it:

<td><div class="imagebutton" id="{$editorid}_cmd_createvideolink"><img src="http://wwwstagemc.nhmccd.edu/resources/images/live/locations/mc/general/MC_video_icon.gif" width="21" height="20" alt="$vbphrase[insert_link]" /></div></td>

That's the code you add, but I don't see the alt code. Sorry, I'm really new to all this.

Chris

ravencr 03-05-2007 01:00 PM

I got it to work, by deleting the entire part in quotes and putting "Insert Video" in the quotes. Thanks a bunch for the help. It's working on my work computer, but not at my house due to the BS security crap on the latest versions of IE7. I hate not having control over some of this crap.

Chris

Alien 03-06-2007 06:22 AM

Does this not work if you already have multiple custom bb codes added to your site already? No matter how many times I retry this, I only get youtube and Ebaums to show up. The others are always not inserted...

ravencr 03-06-2007 01:01 PM

Just a note to everyone installing this, IE7 doesn't display the link, but Firefox does. So, I had to make a button myself and replace the link that's included with the code, because for some reason IE wouldn't pull it up and was causing the scripting error that Lucy is mentioning. Even after allowing the script to run I think it had something to do with the wwwurl with no period in between. Mine is here: www.utvrally.com The button is 89x20 pixels.

jarekn 03-06-2007 06:12 PM

Great one :)

Anyway you could add LiveVideo? The have some good movies :)

rjmjr69 03-08-2007 05:21 AM

I lost the use of my Tool bar now......... I cant seem to fix it what would be the cause?

Ok so I got it to work but now Youtube does not display and when using PREVIEW all I see is the address's in brackets not the video;s I have not checked on any other sites yet but at least I got it back.

Also how do I change the address to display my own gif instead of the text button?

I still do not see any type of bbcode in the manager

Ok after much messing around I have finally got this to work as intended with the help of pieces of info from a few post's I think the author should consider changing the directions for these are much easier and work

Use this file
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=254

And these directions

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=215

Works perfectly fine with 3.6.5 Now to just figure out how to use a button instead of that text link

attroll 03-09-2007 04:08 PM

I installed this and I must have done something wrong because when I put the code in the image does not appear. I just get a line that says this in the message:

[youtube]LMHZcgM11GU[/youtube]

attroll 03-09-2007 04:13 PM

I did the BB code edit and save and that word.

I need the "MC_video_icon.gif" file though because for some reason that did not get installed.

Tom_S 03-09-2007 05:22 PM

Yo Chad! Did you bail on this mod? Your last post on it was the 11th of February and it isn't working now.

Top Nurse 03-09-2007 05:26 PM

It shouldn't make too much of a difference in your forum bandwidth as this hack steals the bandwidth of the place where the video is actually posted to. ;)

Top Nurse 03-09-2007 05:27 PM

Works perfectly in 3.6.4 and 3.6.5...

What doesn't work?

Tom_S 03-09-2007 05:29 PM

The link does not work. Before it popped up telling you to put in the url info for the video..now nothing. I attribute that to the 3.6.5 upgrade. Did you do a full upgrade or just the security upgrade?

Top Nurse 03-10-2007 01:58 AM

I just went back and checked and the link does not work. :(

The reason is that the clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js does not exist anymore in 3.6.5...

However, you can do it manually by inserting the required BB tags. :)

I'm bummed https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/03/18.gif

This is the one that did it for me! Got it going this afternoon.

Top Nurse 03-11-2007 11:27 PM

I think Ebaums World caught up with this hack as I get a player loading, but the feed showing in the bottom of my browser indicates a 404 error of some type.

Chadi 03-12-2007 03:20 AM

Is there a way to select what videos to embed?

I wish to use only GODtube.com for now if possible, and allow only certain usergroups to post videos.

RichieBoy67 03-13-2007 12:36 AM

You have to add the url into the options menu... That is why you are not getting the full url in between the tags.. I went through the same thing. I missed it in the menu somehow...

works great...

Thanks

Mr Chad, any chance of you responding to my PM ?

Gizmo999 03-14-2007 10:04 PM

Thank you to everyone involved with gettign this to work, i've been looking for a player but needed to control who could post video.

I used the file from this post https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=254

and these instructions https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=215 watch out for the image location error, you'll need to amend it to your own image location.

and then added this hack to control BB code permissions per usergroup, I can now create custom usergroups with movie posting ability, just need forum permissions for custom BB codes now as well :)
