I don't think there's going to be an updae. This mod still won't have all the great features that the last (likewise unfinished) mod had.

Let's just hope sooner or later, someone comes up with a great video gallery mod.

blind-eddie 01-29-2007 01:30 PM

For those of you wanting this to work on vbadvanced, Try using BBcode, works perfect

akulion 01-29-2007 02:31 PM

hi

i just wanted to ask 1 thing
im a newbie here and i already installed the AnyMedia player

i was wondering is this in somewhat better offering more options or pretty much the same?

da420 01-29-2007 05:04 PM

If you have AnyMedia player working on your site - Keep it.

If Jaan gets this going again, and fixes all the bugs, then it's ok to install.

AMG021 02-01-2007 01:25 PM

I wish he would at least tell us what is going on. Is it going well, or this is to hard to convert?

I'm some information would've been nice. Instead us sitting here and guessing dead mod or whatever.

Hi!

I am sorry for the delay, the programmer who started on the project has disapeared.

I am looking for a new programmer and will send an update when I've found one. (aprox. 2-3 days).

Best Regards,

Sorry to be a pest. I installed and it works great, the only problem it didn't add the icon "M", so i actually have to type [media][/media] around my links.

K, i figured out how to get the little icon to work correctly in my forums: I know it's crude, but it does work.

Go to your admincp, Styles & Templates, then style manager and open your style......

locate Editor Templates and open it, then open editor_templates_toolbars_on

<if condition="$show['php_bbcode']">
<td><div class="imagebutton" id="{$editorid}_cmd_wrap0_php"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/php.gif" width="21" height="20" alt="$vbphrase[wrap_php_tags]" /></div></td>
</if>

and below it add (right after the </if> statement):

<td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/separator.gif" width="6" height="20" alt=""/></td>

<td><div class="imagebutton" id="{$editorid}_cmd_wrap0_media"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/vbmediaplayer.gif" width="23" height="20" alt="$vbphrase[wrap_media_tags]"/></div></td>

Then save that template.

now go to Show thread Templates and open it, locate Showthread_quickreply aand open it.

find:

td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/separator.gif" width="6" height="20" alt="" /></td>
<td><div class="imagebutton" id="{$editorid}_cmd_wrap0_quote"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/quote.gif" width="21" height="20" alt="$vbphrase[wrap_quote_tags]" /></div></td>

and below it add:

<td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/separator.gif" width="6" height="20" alt=""/></td>

<td><div class="imagebutton" id="{$editorid}_cmd_wrap0_media"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/vbmediaplayer.gif" width="23" height="20" alt="$vbphrase[wrap_media_tags]"/></div></td>

and click save..........that should do it......tiz working for my site perfectly.

Thanks dude, it worked perfectly. I won't be waiting any longer.

listen guys, I am using 3.0.4 cris's anymedia on vb 3.6.4 and everything works just perfect Except the flash player. The problem is, most of the time it shows a white player (flash player only) and that happens Mostly with youtube clips.

SO the flash player is the only problem it seems. does anyone have a IDEA how to resolve this? if the flash works again, I would be more than happy with my current version....

Hi!

I've requested for a programmer on this forum: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...55#post1185055

I am using my original SEO Videos mod and it's exactly what I need so I do not really need this mod myself. But as I promised to complete it I will hire a programmer to complete it.

If you're interested to work on this mod and get paid, please let me know on MSN/email: adultseo@gmail.com.

Best Regards,

Hi Jan,

I think you need someone to speak up for you without fearing any comeback, or backlash because of it. Seriously!

For all of you lovely people that keep slagging Jan and his work off, and leaving sarcastic and smarmy comments... you will do better to remember that this man has worked on this MOD for a good amount of time -- his own spare time, I'd like to add.

 Honestly, do you think you could do better? And, more importantly, do you think you could do better in your own time, whilst trying to do other MORE IMPORTANT personal tasks?

THIS MOD IS FREE.
THIS MOD IS IN A BETA STAGE.

Do you honestly think that when a software product is released into the open market, there are NO BUGS whatsoever? For example, why on earth do you think there is a Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Windows XP? <-- and you have to pay for the XP product! And, vBulletin isn't without its own bugs (wasn't there an update recently for a cross site scripting threat, or something?)

I've read this thread from Start to finish, and I've only seen a few posts that seriously support and appreciate the work this bloke is doing.

And, as far as a 2 year old friend goes... slimey comments on this really don't do the posters any good. Not everyone has brand spanking new shiney and lovely friends as the slimey commenting posters do; some of our friends are copmlete arses. Huh, I bet with friends as good as the commenters, they'll be akin to leaving slimey comments too! ;)

Also, with regards the seemingly lack of response from Jan, don't forget that for some reason his eMail notifications from this MOD have been disabled. So, if Jan doesn't reply the very moment after you've added your post, then hard crap! You'll just have to stick with being stressed; or perhaps just not being so stressed and 'on the edge' to begin with might help you a bit.

I know the answer to these questions...
  • Can anyone remember how many times Jan has stated that HE WILL PAY for a programmer to solve this MOD's problems?
  • How many users in this forum have also tried helping out on this MOD?
...no I won't give you the answers!

If you cannot answer these two questions correctly, then you should take some of your precious time to go back to the start of the thread and read to the very end. Oh, that's right... you can't can you? You won't be able to spend time reading the WHOLE thread, if you really haven't got the time to do some MODding yourself.

Really, there's only been one comment made about where this MOD should have been posted: that this is a 1st beta stage, and it should be in a thread somewhere where Beta testing goes on.

All problems with the functionality of this MOD are a product of it's Beta testing. A LOT of users don't seem to grasp this fact! Testing means to test, and usually implies that there will be problems, and so reporting these problems helps the testing.

NOT FORGETTING that this MOD is provided to you FOR FREE, and that someone else is PAYING THEIR CA$H FOR YOU TO HAVE IT FOR FREE is one of the other major considerations you should have at the front of your mind before leaving snotty comments.

I think I may have finished ranting now... (but, I may be back with more.)
-------------

As for the MOD itself: I'm not installing it. No, that's right, I'm not. It just seems too buggy at present, and - this is the important part for me - considering Jan's eMail notifications from this thread have aparently stopped, I cannot see Jan (or, paid programmers) being able to do any serious 2-way communications with the reports of bugs and technical issues in this thread.

But, many thanks for your time and effort on this project Jan.

You really are a STAR! (as are all other Modders - where would we be without MODs on our forums, eh?!)

Now, please... will all users pay some respect and just say 'thanks' to Jan (and all other Modders and Helpers)? It doesn't take any effort.

And, if the arseholes could just stop being arseholes and at least resort to just being children, it would be a major first step in the right direction for themselves.! ;) And, the rest of us, therefore, won't have to put up with reading their pathetic comments (what a waste of a post!)

;)
Step

People are free to speak up their opinion as long as they don’t insult anyone! In every forum when something new is getting created there are always some people like this frog: StepOnFrog, who start sucking at the creators when people speek up their mind.

Jan has done a lot and we are all thanking him for it, but it doesn’t take away that we want this to happen as soon as possible.

When u start sucking you will become useless for any new mod to my opinion, so be usefull or stop sucking and btw, who did ask you something??

Ps: do you know the definition of: pathetic comments? Take a better look at your own post, I think we are all seeing who’s comment is being pathetic. Chill out, drink or smoke something dude lol ;)

Cheers to Jan and all the other great visitors of this topic...

I was looking at this product in comparison with some other methods of using media on my forum, but I'm still not sure of it working well for the time being.

I've spotted a few forums that are using this product already, and one in particular has a problem with the signatures form... I was editing my signature, and went to post, but the error that came back said I couldn't use the [Media] tags (or whatever they were) - basically the M button. The only tags that I'd used was the Italic & Bold [I] [B]. So, anyway, I let the Admins know about the problem, and I've come to post this problem here, just in case this bug isn't known about.

EDIT: I don't see how this is useless... :(

When people RANT, the idea is to either ignore them, or just let them RANT. In much the same way that the process of farting starts and reaches a climax, the RANT is carefully brewed from many different exotic and toxic products. The RANT grows similar to the expansion of gasses in the gut, until eventually the climax is reached and stimulation comes with a letting off...

Farts smell, RANTS ache the eyeballs. There is liittle difference.

Yeah, it's odd that u should say that, because further down your post you completely contradict your own words...

So, are you simply saying that I cannot "speak up my own opinion"?

You what? LOL!

Are you taking what I said to heart? Are you really saying (in not so many words) "hey everyone else, you're all great! But, this Step bloke isn't great...!" What? As if they didn't already know this, and they need you to tell them that I'm full of crap?!

Really! Honestly, I'd have just told me to F**k Off - it's as simple as that. And, yes... if I was someone else reading my last post, I probably would have replied just that! :D

My post was a RANT. There is a purpose behind a RANT. The points I made were completely valid. I bet you replied to my RANT because you were wound up? Well, when I'd read the whole of this thread from start to finish, I felt the same way, and so I posted a RANT.

Both of you are being very high school. Please, act like adults, and stop trashing Jan's release thread. If you have a problem with someone's hacks that you have to rant, or are irritated by someone's comments use the private messaging system.

StepOnFrog 03-05-2007 12:13 AM

I complelely agree with you DA. I'm sorry, and won't be a child again (can't speak for others), but I may RANT about something... I dunno, possibly about Britney Spears' shiney bald head, or something.. but I won't RANT it here. I'm Sorry!

da420 03-05-2007 01:36 AM

StepOnFrog,

This project has been dead for quite some time, and it has been a long time since a support question has been answered. I suggest either learning the skills needed to fix your issues with this hack on your forum, hiring someone to do so, or uninstall, seeing as your rants are falling on deaf ears. Whether it's a rant or not you are still held responsible for what you type.

I'm not bashing you, or saying anything bad about you. Just making a observation and a suggestion, seeing as your efforts are not resolving your issues, it's probably wasted breath.

StepOnFrog 03-06-2007 12:10 AM

Yeah DA,

I was going to explain about something or other, but your guiding fingers have shown me the way.! :D

I had actually asked two questions that I'd rated as very important regarding the methods used by this, and other MODS that allow users to EMBED, or include, objects from other websites into their posts, and the security issues that they may pose to any board.

However, as you so kindly, and rightly so, pointed out.. no one gives a rats arse about anything. So, thanks for the suggestion to leave it!

Seriously, thanks for your advice.. I was going to waste my entire breath detailing how the methods mentioned are an easy way to cause cr*p for users, and forums.

You are a very wise man (if you're a man!!!) LOL... thanks. I would doaj, but I gave up on that years ago, sorry :(

Anyway, I'm no expert, but if anyone wants to know, then PM me.

Sorry I missed your question. I often hear things about security vulnerabilities with Flash, but have not heard such things about other types of files.

No, you misunderstood. It's not that no one cares, it's that not everyone comes into this thread to answer questions about this or other hacks, especially considering the project is currently dead in the water. There are many here to help and answer your questions.

If you want a good answer, I suggest opening a thread in the General/vBulletin discussion forums. This will probably give you an answer faster, and better than can be given here.

I added the code that quote I added and it showed up. Seeing that code is in my template and the code from the install is in there, I should have two buttons... however I only have the one [which showed up after I put the code in by hotwheels].
