For the autonomous version, can there be a zoints version that would follow the style set by the forum owner. I like zoints and what it offers, but to put 120 bucks out for a product that doesn't follow my style settings (page width, etc...) is a little discouraging.
Please don't mistake this as being a negative post because it isn't. I think zoints is a great addition to forums in need of a bigger, better networking system. Can I control the page width and bring in my navbar into zoints now? |
Is there a way that I can set the Admin account to be default on everyones network? Like Tom is on everyones MySpace profile? hahaha :o

Zoints doesn't seem to grab the vars that are in VB with the exception of user data. Considering the level of complexity and customization ability in zoints, I don't think its even feasible to pull across header or navbar code. Zoints doesn't seem to have been designed to intertwine with VB, but act as a separate entity with various connection points. You best bet is to take your header and footer code, work out all the VB vars and make it work as a standalone page, then paste it into the Header and Footer boxes in the Zoints Admin page. |

But in subsequent releases of Zoints Local, we will provide MUCH more functionality and intertwining with boardware. We're nearing release of 1.0 and we already pack all kinds of cool stuff into this system. Just think what it'll be like by 1.2 or 1.5 as we work to make the lives of admin and members that much easier  |
You are my heroes: to all Zoints dev Team!!

I was testing the Zoints Local demo and noticed that I cannot see what is displayed on this screenshot on the description of the app.

We're working on the gold build right now. I thought I'd let you guys know about a few enhancements that will be seen:
1. Forum avatars will be used. No more having two sets of avatars. 2. The entire default profile is being pulled and will be displayable in its own page. Think: My Homepage | My Profile | My vB Profile | Blog | ... That way all functionality there will still be easily accessible. 3. Much better control over pages. As a forum owner you will be able to lock pages on a page by page basis from editing. 4. Control over how much disk space each member gets. |

Too bad... it looked pretty good. Hopefully there's other that can be used. :) |

Will these new features be available in both the version for 120 and this free local one? So basically, you could test it out on the free local one and if you're happy with it and want to remove all the nav bars and connections with zoints, you can pay 120 and you wont lose any functionality etc?

Any plans to incorporate this by gold please? Because I have had to manually create the folders and then CHMOD them I have had to limit the number of members using it (no intention of sitting for many hours recreating the convoluted directory system needed :( ). |

We don't have support for safe mode at this time and it's not going to make it into gold, sorry. It'll be built into a later release. Sorry for the inconvenience. |
We're going to delay gold for a couple days to resolve the two major complaints community owners have at this time:
1. The navbar/header/footer will be able to automatically be added. 2. We're going to rework the "Communities" link in the header. Instead of pointing to http://zoints.com/communities, we are instead going to create a system where forum owners can network with each other. "Subnetworks". For example, if you own an auto detailing forum, it would be in your interest to network with a honda and a toyota forum that don't have auto detailing subforums. Then, when you or your members click on the Communities link, instead of being taken to Zoints, a dropdown appears with links to those communities you are networked with. Yes, if you're a forum owner with 5 forums, you can network with yourself. Thank you for your continued feedback so that we can improve Zoints Local. It is greatly appreciated :) |

I installed this on my forum...and it replaced the normal Profile for users? How do I get the standard profile back on VB 3.6.3?

I thought I'd give a quick update on the progress we're making with automatically pulling the header and footer. As to be honest I'm rather excited because it makes everything look much cleaner when going from forum to profile. The below screenshots are from a page where everything is at a static 800 pixel width (thus the 2nd row of pages).
Profile header: http://network.zoints.com/images/t/progress1.png Forum header http://network.zoints.com/images/t/progress2.png Profile footer: http://network.zoints.com/images/t/progress4.png Forum footer: http://network.zoints.com/images/t/progress3.png We still have some work to do to get the navbar working as desired. And because of this new code, you're able to now set fixed widths via the vbulletin style options. But that breaks a few things with our style editor so we need to figure that out. Overall, progress has been fantastic though. And it's all thanks to the feedback you folks have provided. *edit* Updated screenshots with the navbar: Profile https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ Forum https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ |

I do have automatic backups enabled and yes they are quite satisfactory, but I still like to manually download my site once a week to keep a 'hard copy' so to speak, and all those embedded directories in the user folder just seem to double the time this all takes. Am really looking forward to the update. Thanks. |
One thing I don't think that's been answered, if I get the paid version for $120, can I make the URLs www.sitename.com/username instead of www.sitename.com/z/username (removing the z) ? This would be a big plus.

I was waiting the new release of phpfox begin 2007 but now i must reconsiderin a lot of think. Thank you for finaly give people what people want, and the best is that the price is not to heavy  |
Already installed yesterday from the download from the Zoints forum but I clicked installed here too. The install was a breeze and my members love it :)
|
Zoints seems very interesting, but one thing that bothers me is that the navbar on my zoints profiles will be completely out of sync with the rest of my site. Is there a work around?

No worries :) I got it to where at least the admins/mods can see. It was a just general wondering I had :) |

DChapman -
Kudos on bringing in the header, navbar, and footer into zoints. I have to say that this was a huge concern for me, but now, once things get worked out, I will be buying zoints. I am again excited about this. Thanks! |
Looks like this is going to be a very promising idea. I have put it up and only a few difficulties so far.

With that said, no more questions regarding the autonomous license will be answered here at vBulletin.org. This thread is for the free version of this modification. If you have any questions about the licensing, please take it to http://network.zoints.com vBulletin.org is for free modifications and we as forum owners and coders need to respect that. Thanks! :) |
