Thanks for updating

Upgraded, everything work

stwilson 04-22-2007 11:45 PM

Hmmm. I updated and reset acceptance status in my dev forum. Now if I have the View Forums option set to YES when accepting the rules, the screen reloads and takes me right back to the rules acceptance screen. It's in a loop, no way out if the rules have not been accepted yet. I uninstalled, reinstalled and still no different. I'm on VB 3.6.4, MY SQL 5.0.16 and PHP 5.2. Any suggestions?

Kinnay 04-23-2007 12:47 AM

I just installed it on my site: school-forum.net but where is it located on my site? What is the URL?

I've seen it on the navbar -- green colored fonts, don't you see it?

JimmDaBimm 04-23-2007 01:11 AM

Thank you for this very useful Mod, i love it and will install it soon :>

wolfe 04-24-2007 08:33 AM

m8 is it possible to make it automatically run the rules page to all all users who visit (by ip) and have an accept / decline button if they accept there ip is stored and it check next time they visit to see if they have accepted it and if they have it wont load but if they decline it it automatically redirects there to a set address and keeps showing every time they revisit urgently needed m8 :P

aztecboi2003 04-28-2007 05:51 PM

I nstalled this and when I went and erased the rules you had and replaced it with "the rules are being rewritten" It showed all the smiles and how to make them. I'm going to try and place my rules and see if it fixes it.

I got it to work but how do I change the color to a nice red or Black?

What is the difference between this mod and Mr_Snob's "Advanced Rules and User Agreement hack" found here?

rayw 05-02-2007 12:26 AM

Is it possible to only display the rules when entering a specific forum?

Bounce 05-03-2007 11:48 PM

Varname $vbphrase[cybfrules_rules]
Text Forum Rules

You change the color of the navbar here  :erm:

#66ff00 is the greeny color

s0lidgr0und 05-04-2007 06:46 AM

When I install the product, without making any of the optional changes that are in the instructions, there's a link installed in my Quick Links that is both off to the side and the wrong color. How would I remedy this? I'd like it to just be in line with the rest of the links I have in the dropdown menu.

(I'd include a printscreen right now, but there's no photo editor on my work computer. If need be, I can post one when I get home in the morning.)

Edit: I hadn't looked at the admin options before. My apologies.

Very nice mod.

princeedward 05-04-2007 09:28 PM

thanks for this...very useful....install ;)

Alibass 05-08-2007 07:44 PM

This one is better because it is simple in use and easy to install (no any modifications for default theme and 99% no any modifications for other theme).

Majest 05-12-2007 08:33 AM

Thanks for this mod, it's something I was looking for.

*Clicks Install.

Stubentiger 05-13-2007 07:42 AM

Hello,
looks like the mod does not work correctly with vB 3.6.6. You can still infract user, but they receive a PM with the text 'Could not find phrase 'warning_received_post''. Any references?

regards
thorsten

OK, worked fine with vB 3.6.5, upgraded to vB 3.6.6 and it did not work any more. What's the actual problem and who can correct this?

It's vBulletin phrase.

You can ask vBulletin why that happened.

You can add this phrase manually if you wish:
Email Body Text Phrases
warning_received_post
PHP Code:

Dear $infraction[username], You have received a warning at $vboptions[bbtitle]. Reason: ------- $infraction[reason$infraction[message] ------- Original Post$infraction[post] [quote]$postinfo[pagetext][/quoteWarnings serve as a reminder to you of the forum's rules, which you are expected to understand and follow. All the best, $vboptions[bbtitle]

Stubentiger 05-13-2007 11:35 AM

Sorry! I'm totally wrong. It's a matter of the vBulletin build-in infraction system.

regards
thorsten

icemanic 05-15-2007 11:10 AM

MotoUp 05-16-2007 01:55 PM

Makc666 05-25-2007 11:17 AM

This one:
Code:

<phrase name="setting_cybfrules_rules_title" username="Cybernetec">Forum Rules</phrase>
<phrase name="setting_cybfrules_rules_title" username="Cybernetec">Forum Rules</phrase>

must be:
Code:

<phrase name="setting_cybfrules_rules_title" username="Cybernetec">Forum Rules</phrase>
<phrase name="setting_cybfrules_rules_title" username="Cybernetec">Forum Rules</phrase>

kailew 05-28-2007 06:10 PM

Hi,

I've the problem that I'm using a portal system where I have an overview of my forums, like a little Index. vBSeo rewrites the links in that index like this:

HTML Code:

http://www.portugalforum.de/rechtliche-fragen-rund-um-portugal/
If you now use this link to look into the forum you have to accept the rules - but you don't want to write a posting in this moment.

Google tried to use this links and now in the search index the're a lot of "...please accept the rules ..." entries to my page ...

Any ideas?

Kai

kailew 05-30-2007 07:49 PM

Hallo? nobody there?

Kai

I am looking for this same feature. Did not see a response to the above. Any direction would be appreciated, Thanks!

navjotjsingh 06-05-2007 06:25 AM

Link to Rules page only gets added in forumhome page. It does not get added to vbCMPS navbar automatically. How to add it to navbar of vbCMPS navbar also?

RedGTiVR6 06-07-2007 06:42 PM

ok - so when I go to the demo it takes me to a page full of smilies...when I install on my forum, it does the same thing...what gives?

Mr Peabody 06-08-2007 05:43 AM

Seems to do that if you turn it off.

Great mod cheers!

Elpie 06-09-2007 11:52 AM

Any problems with it on 3.6.7PL1?
