Can Moderate All Forums (is Super Moderator)
Can Access Control Panel (is Administrator)
i have reinstalled it many times but it still doesnt show up... i have 3.6.7 and it used to work untill i updated it. :(

M4r5h4ll 10-03-2007 01:58 AM

works great
thanks so much & sorry :)

Tom_S 10-03-2007 09:45 PM

Didn't you originally have this set so only the main admin could use it? That is what I need. Could you possibly attach that version for me?

Thanks in advance

Chadi 10-04-2007 12:54 AM

After the last version upgrade, the option in memberinfo is missing, but the template insertion is still there. Is this a bug?

Same to me with 3.6.8 first. Take another look to the Instructions. ;)

djbaxter 10-04-2007 12:35 PM

The instructions won't help. Doing a hard refresh on your Admin Control Panel page may help, though.

Caligatio 10-04-2007 07:22 PM

I'm a super admin, yet for me it doesn't show up, while for the board's two admins it does (I'm actually a tech :-p) and that was even before one of them was made into a superadmin. So the question is - what is wrong with me then? Any ideas? As it would really help if I could log into random accounts to do testing and not having to create a separate account so then I could keep logging in an out...

Talk to your other admins. It sounds like they haven't given you permission to log in as another user, assuming you're using the latest version.

Same here. Definitely a bug that does not work well with 3.6.8

That's not where you should set your administrator permissions from. You are doing it via the usergroup manager, but it should be done via administrator permissions (the last option from the "usersgroups" menu. You have to set it individually, for each admin:

Racecar 10-17-2007 02:06 PM

When you log in as another user is there a way for them not to show online? I'm sorry if I missed this in the thread.

Go to your ACP->usergorups->adimistrator permissions-> your permissions and set your self to view them.

Hi there Abe1 .... this is one of my favourite MODs! My only suggestion is to include the above tip regarding changing permissions in your instructions and first post. That way, administrators won't need to trawl through all the posts to find out what to do when it doesn't work! Thanks again, twobob

Added to instructions.

Black Tiger 11-02-2007 12:45 AM

Nice hack but I don't like to make template edits if not necessary.
There was once a hack, which allowed you to login as a user too, but only from within the ACP. It only placed a "login as user" piece under "users" in the ACP.
An admin could then fill in the username and click "go" or login or something like that.

I think this hack was maybe in a 2.x version I don't remember really.

Is your hack easy to adjust to only do this? And if yes, how is it done?

Veer 11-02-2007 08:01 PM

Version 2.4 not working for me, its installed correctly with template edits, but i can't see link on member profile or user edit page, i have uninstalled 2.4 and installed 2.1 it works correctly for me on 3.6.8 php5 mysql5.

Thanks.

Read the file where the new setting is located.

ctfortner 11-21-2007 02:30 PM

Installed, worked great. Thanks!

miklere 11-23-2007 11:44 PM

Two questions:

1 - When logged in as the user, can you read their PMs and post as them?
2 - Will this mess up the "view new posts" feature? Wont they notice someone has been in their account?

1 - Yes
2 - Depends on which view posts setting you have. If you use cookie based, then it wont mess up. If you use database, then any thread you go into will mess up.

newtsys 12-02-2007 01:18 AM

Ok here is a question your read me file say this

2) Do the template edits

in header:

find:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
<!-- logo -->
--------------------------------------------------------------------

but what if you dont have that then where do you place the command?

Found the answer

ok instead of <!-logo-> if you dont have it use <!-Header-> and place the edit there. I checked it and it works fine.

Thanks for any assistance on this.

crimsy 12-04-2007 08:20 AM
