Thank you, I intend to upgrade our PHP and Database very soon (within the next two weeks) so I will see what happens then.

I have found a separate issue.

In exclude forums I have excluded a heavily edited forum (100 odd edits a day, we do have 100k members who just love to be edited), but the hack is still PMing the poster.

Any thoughts on this?

vbreal 11-13-2006 08:24 PM

needed this
thanks

jndeakin 11-15-2006 09:40 AM

Couldn't get this working at first. First I thought it was because I didn't have an exclude forum (early bug mentioned in this thread), then I found you fixed it later. Then 180-odd posts in I found you don't PM when the thread originator moves their own thread!!!!
I don't know about you, but when trying it on our test forum, that seemed the easiest thing to do :( Could you make it optional maybe? Or at least make it clear in the documentation?

It seems to be working at the moment, but I think there's a legacy message problem from a previous similar hack... Off to keep digging

please help for installed 3.6.3 ?
support?
worked on 3.6.3?
new ver ?

skoenig 01-10-2007 10:34 PM

Great MOD. Works fine on 3.6.2. with vbSEO.

Some of our active threads can generate multiple PMs per paricipant's post in the thread when they get moved depending on how late a moderator gets to the thread. Thus a user can receive a great many PMs depending on their activity in the that thread.

Is there anyway, for the Thread level PMs to be sent just once per user ids that are participating in the thread? Or somehow combined in one PM for that user?

~ Steph

Makc666 01-14-2007 01:17 PM

Is there any quick change so this MOD also PMs when some thread or post was copied?

NameClan.com 01-23-2007 02:54 AM

is it working with vb 3.64? thanx

Snake 01-23-2007 08:45 AM

Yes it does.

rjmjr69 02-04-2007 09:28 AM

Thank you this is a very useful feature. I remember going to post or read the post's in one of my threads a few times and found the thread either deleted or altered and not knowing WTF was going on that would really get my blood boiling. I think its only respectful to notify someone when what they posted is altered or deleted. Well thank you again for this mod installed and working fine on 3.6.4

zompus 02-05-2007 10:57 PM

Thanks.

<- Installed!

blogtorank 02-06-2007 12:40 AM

Nice hack!

toddos 02-08-2007 06:40 PM

hi there,
i am using this hack and actually its great.
But if i delete a posting, only sometmes the author of this posting gets a PM. Not usually, only sometimes.

Thats not wright.

Just for info: in th ACP i saw at the options of mdoeration Auto-PM that there is written (at the options of postings): Send PM if thread is deleted. But it muste be "if posting" is delted" ;)

Maybe thats a reason? i dont know...
Does anybody knows?

I am german, sry ^^

toddos 02-09-2007 07:12 PM

kal-L 02-17-2007 05:36 AM

I am assuming this doesn't work for 3.6.4, as I have installed it and it did nothing.
Uninstalled re-installed 13 times so far. Still nothing.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I could so use this mod.

Naco 02-19-2007 09:26 PM

Doesn't work in the 3.6.4

Exitilus 02-19-2007 10:06 PM

Working perfectly fine for me in 3.6.4

RyanC 02-20-2007 12:10 AM

Doesn't work for me in 3.6.4 at all... upgraded and got nothing... uninstalled and reinstalled and got nothing...

Exitilus 02-20-2007 02:03 AM

Try installing it on a vanilla VB

rjmjr69 02-21-2007 10:00 PM

Works just fine in my heavily modified site....... 3.6.4

manofphat 02-22-2007 01:43 AM

I just tried installing it on 3.6.4 and nothing showed up in the AdminCP section and PM's aren't being sent :(

karanlikdunya 02-22-2007 03:51 PM

3.6.4 not sent:(

bollie 02-27-2007 11:30 AM

Work for 3.6.4 i use

manofphat 02-27-2007 09:48 PM

Yeah I got it working on 3.6.4 as well. I made a stupid mistake.

Black Tiger 03-06-2007 10:46 PM

Can you share with us how you fixed it manofphat? Because I'm running 3.6.5. and it's still not showing up in my admincp.

Black Tiger 03-06-2007 10:48 PM

Ah found it... just under vbulletin options, no seperate section. Maybe this would be a nice feature to put it in the admincp like arcade is and icash and things like that.:)

Confirmed working on 3.6.5 btw

Hi all :)

As you have probably noticed, I no longer develop software for vBulletin. However, as this modification appears to still be popular, I would love to see someone continue its development!

If you are interested in developing this mod further and taking on all rights / ownership of this modification, please e-mail me at alan@citconsultants.co.uk.

Thanks to everyone :)

Alan.

It came to "our" attention that there is some strange situation with this MOD:
Original discussion here:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....3&postcount=39

In brief:
There is the difference between messages sent to me by that mod in behalf of user and sent from that user himself.

By Mod:
Code:

a:1:{s:3:"bcc";a:1:{i:1;s:7:"Makc666";}}
By User:
Code:

a:1:{s:2:"cc";a:1:{i:1;s:7:"Makc666";}}
It must be s:2:"cc" only?

Can you post a note here. If no just say and I will ask developers.

RyanC 03-16-2007 04:50 PM

For the life of me I can't get this one to work in 3.6.5

Anyone else having issues? Are there any quick fixes? I miss this feature.

Black Tiger 03-16-2007 05:01 PM

What do you mean you can't get it to work? Does it not send messages or do you see failure notices?
I have it installed in 3.6.5 without problems, the only thing I did not do yet is to check if pm's are send.

RyanC 03-16-2007 05:06 PM

I had it on 3.5 with no problems at all... worked great... However, with 3.6.5 no pms are sent on moderation.

I do have vbseo installed, but have tried disabling it and the moderation pms still did not work.

PinkDaisy 03-16-2007 10:03 PM

Works like a charm!! Thanks.. :D

DJ Teac 03-30-2007 07:27 PM

How do i add the German phrases ?
I really got no clue at all :)

Konstantinos 05-04-2007 09:15 AM

what about adding an option to the usercp if the person wants to notified , meaning choosing yes or no and type of notification pm or email ?

mfyvie 05-19-2007 11:29 AM

I've been running this mod for a while (2.0.1), everything works perfectly, except no PMs are sent when thread titles are edited.

I've run various versions of VB, but at the moment I'm on 3.6.7. I also run VBSEO 3.0 gold, previously I used 2.4.0 - but this behaviour has been the same the whole time - no PMs sent on thread title changes.

Anybody have any idea how I could begin to debug this?

mfyvie 05-21-2007 04:48 PM

I think I realise what the issue is here. If I edit a thread title via ajax, a PM is sent. If I edit it via the thread tools drop-down menu, no PM is sent.

Since there are similiar functions already in place, does anyone know how this mod could be changed to trigger them PM in both of the editing methods instead of just one?
