everything installed fine...however i cannot seem to see any emails...i know they are there cuz i see them in my regular webmail client........any ideas?

I'm having a few issues :( While I can configure my mail, send and recieve alot of features simply don't work which is preventing me from incorporating it into my forum.

When Setting the login type in settings, the Drop Down Menu does not save the selected option. It defaults to NONE when displayed. So if you select PLAIN... it will use PLAIN but display NONE... kind of confusing when people are attempting different settings.

i Upgade to new version and now i can sent a email byt i cannot receive...

I dont get any error

i get this in the main screen

You have a total of -4 mails in your inbox

-I have unread mail
-im sure the settings its OK

and i also get in get mail screen one line with blank line mail and i cannot delete it....see attachment

someone?

Yes i do it...i also unistall it and i install it again...same thing..

The first screenshot is your addressbook, as long you haven't added any entries it's empty ;)

That happent only with the last release.

I tried GMail to test it out with my GMail settings, and I got this.

Correct :( I played with it a bit and realized that I could delete mails sent to me from gmail & hotmail accounts etc. I had been testing the mail script by emailing myself. I have concluded that emailing yourself results in rendering the buttons useless with those emails. Is there anyway to fix this?

GMail requieres a SSL connection, this is not yet implemented, but I have an idea that hopefully will work....

With the help of Parker Clack there seem to have some bugs fixed for that buttons, let's see if this also helps you :)

To upgrade, just overwrite with new files and re-import the product, correct?

I don't see a readme and I love this hack, just want to be 100% sure before I break it. ;)

i need a little help understanding. i have never used a email client. through my host i could set up 1 account like users@example.com and in my admincp i can enter the correct fields as default for that email? and all my users can work of that one adress? like myusername@example.com and they can set up there own email password? i just have to supply the main password for the host given emai in the admin cp and this hack will distribute the emails to the correct user within my vb? so i could have 150 emails accounts all working of that 1? sorry for the newbie questions.

Yep, that's how I put it on my public dev server.
Just reupload and reimport with "Allow Overwrite" :)

Hi.
First off: As posted several times before ;) it is currently not possible to provide eMail accounts to members with this.

It is, however, the next feature to come, I am currently working on this.

Next is, the options in the AdminCP are for forcing/overriding the user settable options.
So, if you want to FORCE ppl using a special mail server, enter it there.
If you want ppl to allow to use ANY server you MUST leave those fields empty.

(For the moment this doesn't make too much sense, but in the future it will become more important when to eMail providing thing works.)


Then go to your user settings of WMail and set your POP/SMTP server like described by your ISP/provider.

if i send an email out should the smilys work. when i add them they show as :whatever: on my screen and in recieved email that i send out., but i also see they do that in your screenshots in my vb page, and the signatures dont display it just shows the code on sent mails. do i have a setting off?

maybee i should add that my other email im send too is a @aol.

Hi, I've install this plug-in and its working fine. Apart from when I try to send out on email i get this error

I got a MySQL syntax error from this bit of the code (I believe)

        $mmsgid = $mimehandler->get_pretty_header( "Message-ID" );
                $db->query_write( "INSERT INTO " . TABLE_PREFIX . "wmail_readmarks (userid, msgid) VALUES ('" . $vbulletin->userinfo["userid"] . "', '" . $mmsgid . "')" );
Where the mmsgid code had an extra ' at the end so MySQL wouldn't allow this in the '" . $mmsgid . "' bit of the INSERT into the database. Do you think the $mmsgid needs to be striped of any extra marks that could be included by the mimehandler bit?

I have a request, could it be possible to hide the pop3 address and smtp address aswell? People don't need to see that if you have them set in the admincp. Also when people do put in their Email address, it should already be made depending on a admincp setting, otherwise people will be able to send emails being sent by anyone they want. Have a option in the wmail options in the acp saying where the email server is (e.g. mysite.com) and then use their username for the front part.

I am fairly new to VBulletin and was wondering what exactly happens when I click the Install button. I am guessing that it simply keeps a list of the hacks that I have installed to make it easier when I upgrade to the next version, so that I can go through it and re-install the appropiate hacks.

Yeah pretty much... for the install...

And from what I gather upload the product-webmail.xml (or whatever it's called) into your ACP -> Manage Products section.

Is it possible to access the value for total mails and total UNREAD mails so I can display it in the navbar?

I guess I'm looking for the right variables to use to get the same values that are already shown on the wmail_homepage template (shows BOLDED total messages and BOLDED new messages).

But ALL I want are the TWO numerica values, not the complete text.

Looks like that using socket (TCP) connections are not allowed on your server.
Try asking your host about it....

There are already Admin options to force certain aspects of the user config.
Like SMTP and POP3 server, and you can force using the forum's email they are registered with.

You can set permissions on who may use it in the usergroup manager.

If links get automatically added, they will NOT for users who can't use it ;)

That's most likely HTML mail without a plaintext body.
HTML mail support is already on the (ever growing ;)) ToDo....

In my forum, i want the emailbox as i call it to be exclusively used for the email service we offer. As it is now somebody can email someone else using my email address if they wanted to. Also i really do not see the need for the members to see the pop3 and smtp address of the site if it is admin set.

Then you don't have it configured properly. My users can ONLY send mail using their OWN accounts - they have to provide their username/password in order to authenticate to send mail out. It goes out using their account, not mine.

Hate to break this to you, but a simple DNS lookup reveals the MX record for any domain. Simply "not displaying" it to them in the webmail config does nothing to HIDE anything.

Just added this to my site and I gotta say its on my top five of awesome vb mods. I can't wait til I can offer my members email addresses on my domain with this mod.

Quick question, I got everything working (sending and recieving) but it won't let me delete emails. I don't get an error or anything but when it reloads the messages are still there. Is there a fix for this?
