This thread made me SICK.

First of all.... shinraonline.com was the very first site to make use of a store hack and the first to implement many of the functions being used today. I should know because I had at least a hundred PM's begging for it to be released.

Secondly... Lesane did a hell of job with the version of the store hack released here on VB.org and it more than deserved the hack of the month award. Lesane has provided countless amounts of assistance in a thread still going strong with over 200 replies.

SO IF ANYONE IS MAKING A STORE HACK - they should give credit where credit is due and that is to SHINRAONLINE for being the originators and to LESANE for working with what we had, cleaning it up, re-releasing it here, and god only knows how much else and supporting it all with revision after revision. It would be the courteous thing to do.

Lastly... this thread makes me sick because of the petty squabling. The store hack is an immence project. I dont think any other hack for vbulletin is as complicated as the store hack. Instead of whinning and complaining, we should be working together to update it for VB3.

Do a search for 'points' and you will see 100 threads with people trying to convert their points from one persons hack to another and getting it to work with Lesanes hack or Vivi's Item shop. Do any of us really want to see that? Doesnt it make sense that we at least make use of the same schema? I could go on but you see the point I am making here - the point being that it would be easier if everyone was working together instead of against each other.

I don't think a store hack is really that hard. I've made a fully functional store hack with 9 actions, working admin script, even a option select which usergroups can use a specific action and a whole lot more in 5 days, although I'm not doing the templates either, but that's not really the point.

Even if you found it easy, there are 200 posts in Lesane's thread from people who dont find such things easy. Thats not even the point - the point is a) we should be working together & b) respecting others works and idea's.

Well, my store hack will be able to integrate into any point system so long as the database field is in the user or userfield table, and it also has it's own point system (with a switch to turn it off and configure the hack to use a different point system).

That should make integrating it with anything a piece of cake. ;)

Ok this a great debate about whose is better and who is going to have it first for vB3.

But all I care about is this. I need one that works, and one that I can import my users points into.

Anyone going to support that?

My store hack does not have an 'import' option, but all you'd have to do to make the old points work is switch one option (the second in the Points Settings) to 'storep'.
