Ok, thanks. Now I know what the cause of the error is/was. I'll see if I can fix this later tonight. For now, to add a link to the staff application for your users, edit your navbar template and find:
HTML Code:

                            <vb:if condition="$show['memberslist']">
                                <li><a href="memberlist.php{vb:raw session.sessionurl_q}">{vb:rawphrase members_list}</a></li>
                            </vb:if>

Below that, add:
HTML Code:

<!-- USML Staff Application -->
<li><a href="staff-application.php" title="Apply now to be a member of our staff!">Staff Application</a></li>
<!-- USML Staff Application -->

Yah I already add the link manually :D

Thanks

By the way:
Why not add one more question:
What forum you like to apply for as moderator? (if you are applying for moderator position)

Then show him/her the forums list so choose from. (multiple select menu)

Ok PHP FAN and K!NG, whipped up a fix pretty quickly, if you wouldn't mind installing the one I've attached, and let me know how this goes, I'd appreciate it :D

You may also have to go back and re-enable that plugin I had you disable earlier

Not sure if I can do this, but I'll try. :)

hi HMBeaty,

I did imported the one u attached in post # 72 and, I went and enabled what you told us to disable "parse_template"

now get this error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/****/public_html/myforumname***/includes/class_bootstrap.php(414) : eval()'d code on line 83

Seems like error moved from line 79 to 83 :)

***** How come i don't get any email or pm when someone submits an application for a position ????? ******

Well that stinks :( I would say just leave the parse_templates plugin disabled and manually edit the navbar then. For some reason, your sites aren't agreeing with that plugin. :confused:

For email: ensure you have a valid email address entered in "Send by Email". Check your spam folder too

For PM: ensure you have a valid userid (NOT username) entered in "User ID (Sender)" and a valid username (NOT userid) entered in "Private Message Recipients" and also verify that "Send by PM" is set to "Yes"

HMBeaty 06-28-2011 01:03 AM

Out of curiousity, are BOTH of you running in UTF-8 mode?

Ok, I am going to take an educated guess at this and say the UTF-8 mode is screwing things up lol. Unfortunately, I'm unsure on how to fix the issues occurring from the UTF-8 mode :(
