Is this true?

I personally have no problems with it. I modified the original hack so it would ignore Search Engines

RedHacker 01-20-2010 08:49 AM

Problem with sidebar blocks icon now worked with this modification

tafreeh 01-20-2010 04:44 PM

i meant to say, use this hack for registered users only, so bots cant see the changes...
leave the default setting for unregistered and bots..

therefore it will only change the source code for registered users only, bots will have nothing to do with this hack..

Okay .. this works perfectly on firefox for me .. :)

But on IE .. the "whats going on box" doesn't move .. it stays so far down from the tabs .. which makes the 1st tab look ok .. but when u click on other tabs ..the "whats going on box" doesnt move down to make room .. the foums show underneath the box ..

And altho i have permissions set for all groups to see the tabs .. when being a guest .. it shows the tabs but not what the tabs contain properly..

But like i say works perfectly in Firefox ..

edit ish: mite be stupid mistake lol but had the sidebar turned off ..once enabled ..in IE the tabs loaded perfectly .. only thing now is the side bar when closed doesn't expand the forum to fill where the sidebar was.... not sure if this is due to this mod or due to the custom skin ... any ideas?

Install and is working well, however, when I set up certain forums to show in the tabs (entered the forumid's in the Forum section) it just still show's all the forums in all of the tabs. Anyone have any ideas on this?

And yeah, as someone asked previously, would be cool if could have tabs on the CMS page too :).

sounds great. One question as I don`t have installed 4.1 yet: will the active tab be remembered if you leave the forum home and return to it e. g. with the back button of the browser?

to answer the question myself:
no, it will not remember the tab. Meanwhile I found out that ajax-history can be done. Here`s an example with jquery tabs:
http://flowplayer.org/tools/demos/ta...x-history.html
select a tab, click on one of the links in the right nav, click the browsers back button and your tab will still be selected. This is done with the jquery history plugin:
http://plugins.jquery.com/project/history
Something similar exists for the yui framework:
http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/history/
They even have an example on how to use this with a tab navigation:
http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/examp...y-tabview.html

I`ve only very few experience with Ajax so I`d be glad if this could be implemented.

thanks - all the best,
Sacha

What version of IE?

As far as the side bar goes, I've had some glitches with mine as well and have it logged as a bug. Will be looking into it. It could be on my end.. not sure yet.
