If a guest can simply become registered on your forum without passing the human verification then doesn't that leave you open to spam?

I would love to install this but i wouldn't love the tons of work later deleting the spam, anyone got any guidance on this?

I created a new usergroup "Facebook", which has the id "17". I put 17 in the FB Connect settings under Default User Group ID. No users are being put in that group.

Any ideas?

It only puts new Facebook users into that group, if you are connecting your Facebook account to a regular member it won't move that member, they maintain their former group.

Is there any indicator on the admin side to show what existing users may be using this feature?

This is one of the best ever hacks I think for Vbulletin.

I think, you should provide more info on mapping facebook to vbulletin fields. What's the right way to do it?? Should we just create the exact same fields in vbulletin and map them with their corresponding facebook fields????

I am looking for more use of the profile fields too. For example, if you are a private forum and dump all your people who register thru fb connect into a limited visibility usergroup, then a new account in your approvals bucket willl just show their username and the facebook generated unresolved email.

i was hoping to use facebook so i can recognize the person but that cant happen if the fields arent populated other than just login name and an email that we can never recognize visually.

Dude, you've bumped 3 times in less than 24 hours on the same issue, give the developer a chance to respond hey  He hasn't been on for a couple of days, thats why he hasn't given you support yet.

Simon, we have been using this for the last couple of days and it works well, no spam problems. The only part we have deactivated is the news feed because of the privacy/permission issue - hopefully this is something that will get looked into soon though in a future release :)
