I know you're busy an' all, but is that last post in reference to working on 3.5 (upgade, damit) or the vBadvanced issue? I use vBa CMPS, so I'm interested in this.

It's in reference to installing on 3.5. The vBAdvanced bit isn't an "issue" per se. This modification was only ever designed to be used within threads.

Yea, but the plugin that does that sometimes causes problems, so some people disable it.

For some non-apparent reason, this has stopped working for me on all of my sites. No changes were made. I am wondering whether this is due to the recent change to shopping ads.

Well, I saw that. I replaced it manually in the URL that is spit out by the code but I still got a blank page so I just went over to the ebay rewrite hack.
