Ahh I think that is going to work way better :)

If you need someone to beta test or anything let me or The Bouncer 611 know.

We have a site all about gaming, and wouldnt mind testing.

Well for now just keep your eye open here in the thread since at this time the releases are public betas for testing, so I would like feeback, comments, etc. The releases are going to be picking up in the next two months with set release dates since I'm getting some extra free time. Next release is planned June 25, 2007.

Sweet. I'll be waiting :)

Thanks. I'll be waiting, too.

This is a really good idea. Will this come with data pre-defined or will the admins need to enter it in themselves?

SS9267547 06-23-2007 09:18 AM

At this time the only pre-defefined data that it will come with is all the settings, so esrb rating, developers, platforms, etc. With each release if there is updated information all you'll need to do is upload the xml files within the system. Data on games is something I would like to do as well however the amount of data for this could be to large to use the current import/export system in place.

Luky 06-23-2007 02:09 PM

I want it to be made admins enter themself. I dislike the whole idea of every gaming forum having this with the same data. Also you donot deserve the traffic this may get you if you dont put work into it. And dont say installing is work, i hardly find uploading a few things and changing others is hard work.

SS9267547 06-24-2007 02:04 AM

Well right now all that will be included is general settings information, just to get people started. Every site pretty well has the same general info like esrb rating, developers, etc. so it will save a few hours of work there. Why have people type in the same information when it just has to be done once. The same goes for game info since thats all the same, date released, developer, publisher, etc. However that is allot of work, I'm not sure it will be ever included just because of that unless it becomes a community effort. Now beyond that, reviews, screenshots, previews, news, etc thats all up to the admins and that is going to be what will really brings traffic is it not? Just my thought on that but I do like to hear what others think on the issue.

Luky 06-24-2007 03:15 AM

Why? Because it isnt fair one bit to have two forums right. One forum has 10,000 posts, the second has 20,000 posts. The one with 10,000 posts just ran his forum and does jack all but take credit for others work. The one with 20,000 posts works very hard and spends alot of money and gets no money out of it, he does his best. They both install this, person A feels he could install this since he is lazy, therfor, he will become as popular as person B! Its really not fair to let others just install something and its all done.

What im trying to say is two things. One, why should you spoon feed lazy people? This should be something they have to work for, or else EVERY gaming forum will have it then it will be total crap. Two, if you put in the info, everyone will have the same info! If you dont put in the info, then certain forums will have less then the rest and other forums will have more.

If you input the info and feed it to us, your mod will look like crap and noone will use it after a few months.
