Hi dude... nice mod, just wondered if you could advise me further... if you check the attached which is using the 70% tr style i seem to have problems getting colours to work with the text within the quote... an extra css def seems to be ignored... as you can see the best i can do is make it whiter... should i perhaps concider making the PNG files for this style/quote more transparent?

cheers

Okay. Got it installed. Working fine.

However, I would like the quote to be more indented. I'd like a little more space on the left-hand side. How do I do that?

Also, I want the text within the quote to be larger. Do you know where I set that?

Then, there is one little thing that I don't have a good idea for yet. In the 3.6, when quoting a post, IF there is a quote, you get that quote link. Great. Now, with this installed, you get the quote graphic, but you have no idea at all if it is an active link or just a nice graphic--especially with all the old posts that don't have the links. You have to move your mouse to hover over it, to determine if you can click to the quoted post or not.

Actually, perhaps a great workaround for that is add some logic that uses one color of the quote for clickable and a different color of the quote for non-clickable post references. Yes, that would be quite satifactory for me! I kind of like the idea of two different colors of quotes anyway. This is a good way to spice up the visual a bit. For those that want a monochromatic look, they can still use the same color!

Also, it would have been nice if vB had made the person's user name being quoted clickable to their profile to do a quick look at them or their other posts. It's a perfect spot for that to make it more usable. Any chance that can be included in this?

Yeah, I was going to ask that too, haven't had time myself yet to search through it to find out.

I'm happy to have at least that question ! :D The answer is YES :) Since the begining, multi quote is working. But for light, dark and pastel sets, there's a tip : just clic on the big "

Easy isn't it ?

You will have to modify this :
Code:

<if condition="$show[username]"><i>$message</i><else />$message</if>
Into this i think :
Code:

<div style="padding-left:XXpx"><if condition="$show[username]"><i>$message</i><else />$message</if></div>
But using div tag can be a problem with IE or FF... I don't remember, you have to test it. I won't do it because i fed up with browsers compatibility ; i've spent too much time ;)

Oh, i was wrong above, someone has noticed the system :D You've got a great idea, as soon as i'll find time to do this, i'll release an update. But i'm not sure it will be an option. There are enough options and i like the idea. Thanks.

I thought i've made the text color in quote only in black... Why did you change it ? If you still want to change the color, you can edit templates xxx_simple_tr and change "color:black;" in what you want.

cavyspirit 08-05-2006 08:52 PM

I think you misunderstood what I was looking for in moving the quote more to the right. I want the whole thing moved. Graphics and all.

Actually, here is where I think I want to make a change (in the template):

<!-- Dark bbcode_quote-->
<div dir="ltr" style="align:right;margin-top:15px;margin-bottom:5px;width:90%;color:black;">
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>

The 90% is about perfect, but the whole quote is still lined up on the left. I want it lined up on the right or preferrably, CENTERED. But align:right or align:center isn't taking.
