The staff team at v3arcade.com will be supporting everyone, whether they're branding free users or not. Due to certain issues over the last couple of years, we are offering users that want a legal arcade the chance to do so - this could mean a small licensing fee for some games (not all), which is negotiated with the author(s).

The system at v3arcade does not act as a backdoor, and we do not have access to any file on your server. John will post clear information about this in his release thread.. You can opt out of game installation reports if you wish, although this may reduce the amount of games that are available to you.

So let the rumours be put down to rest once and for all.. :p

Sorry, OK, this doesn't really wash very well. Call it what you want, but having to pay for better support and negotiating a fee from "non-branding" seems like just a whitewash for a paid hack. ;)

Well, some authors require installation reports of their games in return for using them on your site with v3arcade. I guess this provides them with some data to market their games better or something.. Although because some may regard this as a privacy issue, they can disable their arcade sending these reports - but in doing so, the games that require the option to be enabled will not be installable through the official system.

It's only the same as vBulletin or vBadvanced charging for a branding free option, so I don't see what the big deal is. The premium support thing? As mentioned, we're going to support ALL users, but the premium support forum will be checked for problems first. I'd hardly call it a paid hack..

vBadvanced is no longer distributed here. ;)

So users opting out will be able to download them the regular way from John's site?

BamaStangGuy 11-27-2005 07:37 AM

Point is I can download it and use it without paying.

Not a paid hack

Jenta 11-27-2005 07:47 AM

It's not as simple as that. There are questions in some peoples minds as to exactly how things are going to work and this veiled "branding removal fee" that as far as I know, no other hack here has. Most just put up a donate email.

I will see what vb.org staff say after they get the complete code and including what John has at his end. As for paying for any flash games??? That is like saying " Their is a sucker born every minute" It is a flash game! Only a sucker would buy a flash game and that is what you guy's are hoping for. Lamo

Edit
*If games that come with v3arcade in brand free, then why do they have links to another site? It is not really a brand free is it.

Jenta 11-27-2005 08:01 AM

Branding removal was something the impatient people would pay to get their hands on the betas. The longer it was delayed the more people bought into it. ;)

The issue I have with this is the 2 (or more) levels of support. If you pay, you get promt support, if not, you can only hope they don't get busy supporting on the site.

do you know how much time goes into making a flash game?

pnflashgames is doing well, and they charge for games.

miniclip is doing very well, they buy games for way more then v3 will charge. they are huge suckers.

your just cheap

as for the Free/paid script "issues" i simply dont see it. most of you guys are uninformed and are making assumptions. i think this will iron out once the V3 arcade comes out.

it is "normal" for people who donate to get special treatment. isent it?

correct- and after looking at John's arcade system I think the same should be true with that hack as well, or they should allow vbAdvanced to be posted here, otherwise it is a double standard!
