I noticed what I think might be a bug...
I first installed an older version of this mod, and I just updated to the newest release (2.5) and I noticed a problem. For some reason, if I run the CRON item manually from the scheduled tasks area, the report it generates is just wrong. The links are all broken, it comes up with about 500 links too many (random user profiles, threads, posts, and forums, that don't even exist). I have mine set to run once a day at 4AM, and the auto run works fine, so I don't know why this would be happening... Any thoughts? |
Hello,
if you need to run it manually, you should do that via vbseo_sitemap/ interface (not in vB admincp->scheduled tasks). |
OK, thanks. But, is there a reason that it works when the scheduled task is executed automatically, and the problem only occurs when it is executed manually?
|
Yes, when you run it manually it's executed witho your (admin) privileges.

Thank you. Installed on OTNation.com and love it.

hi,
my sitemap_index.xml.gz link is broken and gone without any reason. What should i do now? reinstall the mod again? thank you |
All of the sudden the Yahoo Notify stopped working on my board. When I view the reports list, it says yes under Google notify, but No under Yahoo notify. The only change I have made recently that might have some effect on it (but shouldn't, I don't think) is I set up my Google Webmaster account and submitted the sitemap there, on Google. But, that should have nothing to do with Yahoo notify, right? Any ideas?

JohorBahru,
make sure that you have only one scheduled task in vB admincp and regenerate sitemap. joe1989, Yahoo sitemap submission service has issues recently, so I'd recommend to manually submit it to https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites |
OK, thanks for the tip. One more question - I'm not sure if you'll be able to answer, because it's probably more a question for Google staff.
I have a Google webmaster's account, and for some reason, it shows my sitemap as containing over 2,000 URL's (which is accurate) but there are less than 800 'indexed' URL's. Why is this? Does Google just take a while to index the others, or will they never be indexed? How does it decide which pages in the sitemap are indexed, and why are they not all indexed? I know, a lot of questions, and like I said, I don't know if you're going to have answers for me. |
Thanks! Installed and working perfectly.
But one question :D I'm confused on how I would go by submitting my sitemap to yahoo... :( |
