slight problem.................i wanted to uninstall the casino and you get a database error when doing so ?

i have removed the casino files etc and unistalled the product but db error

as soon as you install again even without the php files the site works again..............any ideas

I don't think the uninstall has ever really worked right. The only way I have found to properly uninstall it is to delete the files and then drop the database tables associated with the casino, using PHPMyAdmin. There's also a field in the user table - I think it's casino_cash or something like that - it's been discussed a few times early on in the thread. Removing the casino_cash field prior to install/upgrade usually lets you reinstall properly.

It says a server shutdown is in progress. I would assume your server was rebooted.

Well yes, that's what I did as well.

And was promptly chastised.

There's two problems. First, the "Search this mod" function returns an error if you search on "3.7".

The second, that the author is AWOL for months, so the BETA version now has no support, is filling up the back end of this mod with problems. In other words, some people have managed to get it at least partially working in 3.7, but many others are having lots of trouble with it.

So there's no clear answer, except that I think you'd have to be crazy to install an abandoned beta product on a new version of vbulletin.

I think I installed mine about the day Andrew left. And he never wrote a good uninstaller for it, so I may be stuck with trying to make it work in 3.7.

I've never been a fan of people saying "search the thread" in an angry fashion.

However, I have to agree it does get a bit frustrating when someone asks a question, someone else answers it, and then literally two posts down someone else asks the exact same question. I realise it's not realistic to read 207 pages of a thread, and answers from early on may not be correct now anyway, but I think it's not unreasonable to say "read the last two or three pages" at the very least.

I have the Casino working on 3.7.0, albeit I am still on casino version 0.80, but I honestly would not recommend anyone install this on 3.7 at the moment as it wasn't written for that version and there is no support - the author has abandoned the hack, for the moment at least.

Only install on 3.7 if you are quite experienced with hacking and can try and work round the problems, otherwise leave well alone.

yeah, but if your going to instal this addition to your board, its very much recomended that you take the time to read all 207 pages so that your thourally familier with all the bugs associated with it, that way you can make an informed desision as to weather or not you really want to install. personally speaking, i read the entire thread of all the modifications that i instal on my board even if most of it is fluff telling the author its a cool modification. imo, it just makes since ... not only for the aformentioned reason, but also becasue all your doing is adding to the already 200+ pages of posts that users have to sift through to find what there looking for.

Not really necessary as most of the early bugs have been solved and the code amended or added to.

There have been three new releases of this Mod.
The last Feb 18 2008 - It's not really essential to read about bugs before this date. As they've been addressed

ive read the thread more than twice and i find it somewhat offending that you would imply i could make better use of my time by asking a question thats been asked and answered already, dozens of times. you make a good point in that the last release was in feb, however the point is lost in your attitude. have a good day.

i upgraded yesterday to 3.6.10pl1 and now my casino doesn't work; for instance i go to lottery, click "buy ticket" and am kicked back out to the game selection screen w/ no ticket bought.

ideas?

i should add i already re-uploaded (w/ overwrite) all the casino files and re-imported the product (w/ overwrite) as well. didn't help.

Some of my users get the same error when playing slots. It is on a per-account basis as my account and others works fine - however if i log into the accounts that have the problem - I get the array error.

I dont know if anyone reported thsi but I found a issue with the casino, If you uninstall it and remove the files then reinstall everything again, the game settings add extra 1 of each beting chip when it shouldnt im already at like 5 of each, how do I fix this?

Where does it add the extra chip? In the admin CP, or the casino itself?

it add the extra slots in the admin cp and because of that theres extra chips in the casinoon ther forum to.

Everybody having problems after installing 3.6.10pl1 standby... i'm slowly getting the casino working under this version of vB. problem appears to be new security measures they put in place in this ver of vB. would also expect same problems in 3.7x - is anybody successfully using casino under vB 3.7?

edit: I have all the games w/ the exception of the Lotto functioning at this time.

When you uninstall this mod for some reason it leaves the database tables
so when you reinstall you have a lot of duplicate chips etc....

What you need to do is uninstall, delete all the casino tables
in your database manually (backup first) then install and you will be fine :up:

That did not work becuase after I uninstall the casino I check the database and there is no casino fields. and prior to that uninstall I checked and theres no duplicates. something else is wrong. because in the admin thing it shows more than 1 check mark for each cuip, which cant be a database issue.
could it be another issue, maybe a Languages & Phrases issue? or perhaps a change in a file doesnt unistall correctly? ir coud it have somethign to do with the changes vb 3.7.1 made?

This hack should be awarded the "v3Arcade award for spectacularly abandoned modifications".

It's a real shame. One minute it was mod of the month, fantastic support, and even had its own website.

Now there's not a peep from Andrew at all, and the website is swarming with stupid spammers.

Same here...when I moved to 3.7 Gold the casino carried on working.

I do know some people had issues with 3.6.10 though which only seemed to get sorted with an upgrade to 3.7.0. That doesn't seem to make sense, but several people reported it.

I never used 3.6.10 as I've been running 3.7 since Beta 2.

I am currently on 3.7.0 and the casino has always worked fine - I shall be leaving my next upgrade until 3.7.2 and I'll report back to confirm if it carries on working on that.

That is probably our best bet since Andrew seems now to have left us. :(
