I have tried to get the navbar to work to no avail. I tried to install this product for the navbar from THIS post, but I get the database error from hell. Here is a snippet of the error I get because its huge. I suspect that the phrases are not getting sorted properly as pretty much all of this is related to the phrases.

Also after this product import I get the following look on the tabs:

When I click and try to edit any of those tabs I get an error message that says:

I've checked the tab and the THIS SCRIPT is "8WR_media" on the php files as well as the tabs in the navigation in the ACP.

i also tried the plugin manager fix listed in the original post, that did not work either. I've also re-uploaded the files & uninstalled & reinstalled that did not work either.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to set your usergroup permissions in your admincp. Go to AdminCp>Usergroups>Usergroups Manager and set the permissions for your usergroups. It should show then.

Is anyone manning this mod anymore????? Or do I have to look for something else to take care of my videos on my web site?

This mod is no longer supported by the author.

Create a test site with an earlier version of vbulletin4 that this mod is compatible with. Install the mod on the test site and use the navigation paths to create a new navtab and links for your v4.2.2 board. Should take you about 30 minutes and you will be good to go.

Do not import the navtab navigation for this mod to v4.2.2, it is not compatible.

Make sure you read through the entire thread, since there are a few 'must have' patches that have to be deployed to get this working well.

My daughter is using this on her board with no problems, it takes a bit to work out the issues, but it was well worth it for her. Do not expect it to work for a mobile solution.

Have marked this as uninstalled and installed a different video mod. This one is just too buggy after the developer abandoned it.

I apologize ahead of time if this has been asked but I searched and could not find it.

I would like my sidebars to be located on the left side of the screen instead of on the right side. I have searched the templates and css files but can't seem to figure them out. I am sure this is and easy change.

How do I get my sidebars to display on the left side?

Make sure the url doesn't start with https.. because I got the same unable to parse video url error when I do that. Just use http.. (without the s).

That's not the issue and that depends on how you have your ssl cert set up. I believe the issue is just that the video in question in Ytube is set to not allow syndication. Some work, some don't..

##Another issue I just found today while going through webmaster tools not found errors: Notice some of them have very spammy names -newviagra..etc. it looks like some of these were comments or users that were indexed into google long ago..Not sure though because usually I delete those quickly and why would they be showing under /media?

There are probably a couple hundred like this showing.. This is just a small sample..

Thoughts?

Hey all,

If you have a dark theme the postbithead above comments may look off. The easiest fix for this is to change the background in the css.

Do a search in your templates for F2F6F8. This will be in the 8WR_media_comment_bit. I just change this background to black or #000000. This looks decent and allows you to see the text in the area above the comments.

Thanks Ritchie, you are a great member mate, finer explanation like that helps the pennies to drop.

I am using another library that the videos won't show up on certain high profile mobiles or tablets. Does this rely on Flash also?

I have moved to a dedicated server and I want to pump my media section, but everything here seems half finished or out of date and I figure this stuff isn't rocket surgery for those that know.

How come other platforms seem to be able to produce production widgets from their communities?

Thanks for this mod, however we have been unable to utilize it. When attempting to upload a Youtube video (haven't tested any other URLs/formats yet) I'm able to fill out all of the fields including the description. When attempting to submit the form I get a popup stating I'll leave the page and may lose data. If I tell it to stay nothing submits and I return to the form, if I tell it to leave the description text isn't sent and I get an error stating the description is too short. Has anyone else encountered this and have any ideas how to fix it?

Since I upgraded from 4.2.0 to 4.2.2, whenever I try to import a video (from any site, youtube without https, dailymotion etc) I just get this error:

Media URL contained invalid data.

Anyone knows a fix or having the same problem?

try removing the "s" from https:// so you have http:// in the url for the video.

This doesn't work for me. Also, as Youtube has changed how it's API works, i always get the title "https://youtube.com/devicesupport" and description "https://youtube.com/devicesupport
http://m.youtube.com".

Can somebody fix this?
