Running 3.0.5, rehack went smoothly, and more importantly... it works :)

Forgive the stupidity of the question, but I assume since I already have this hack on my boards in order to make it work with 3.0.5 I only have to edit the .php files? Will any more work have to be done to templates or phrases?

i don't believe the templates will have to be changed, but it may, i wasn't the one on my site that rehacked that one, i did the shoutbox, for that one i had to do the templates again, but it was separate. the best way to find out, is upgrade and see for yourself.

now that i think about it, after we upgraded and hadn't rehacked yet, the nav bar still had "arcade" on it, thou if you clicked on it, it wouldn't work. so i believe from that the templates were unchanged

I overwrote all my existing Vbulletin files with a new set, but..

BUT!!! I want to upgrade to 3.0.5???? :(
I also have 3 other hacks.... I don't want to screw anything up or lose any data.
Like top scores!!!

If I do a full upgrade will i have to reinstall v3arcade? And what all will be changed? Just the init.php?

I have v3arcadev1[1].03 installed.

I am sure in can do the init fix without any trouble but I want to get the upgrade over with before I get many more members.

Any help on this subject would be great.

Hi, I've moved the forum to a new directory, the games do not work anymore UNLESS you search then via the Arcade search function then they will.

Is there a query or something that I can run to update everything?

with the navigation that shows only 10 game per page how can ic hange it to like 15 games per page??

I had to re-upload the new php file for my arcade and by "default" it shows 10 games per page. Well when you view my arcade it only shows 10 games total. When I go in and change games per page to say 25 then 25 games show up, so my question is how to I get the pages to show up at the bottom to view the rest of the games??

I have to say this is by far the best addition I have installed! The only thing I would live to see is a game listing by letters.

Example:

A B C D E F G H I J K L M ....

Maybe have the letters across the top of the screen and you can choose the letter that corresponds with the game you want to play. If you are looking for frogger you can click F. I know I sound like an idiot but I think it would be a good idea.

EDIT: May it be that the german version is newer/older? If I use the english version 1.0.2 the thingie worked without problems, but if you are going to replace it with german 1.0.3 (I think <1.0.2 was english only) followed up the instructions (replace the arcade.php) you had to alter the games table with these 3 bse tables... And the "broken" code as above doesn't exist in the english version, also like the things to alter the 3 bse tables... Even in english 1.0.3...

A user on my forum was trying to submit a score of a game he was playing but after that there is a problem with the vbulletin database this is the error message

Worked for me. Just try it. If it doesn't work, put the old file back and work through the hack again.

Hi

I have several cheaters on the arcade.

When I delete their scores, the #2 high score user gets the championship...but the little trophy doesnt show up in his/her profile.

Does anyone know how to fix that?

File Uploads

All of the files in the "Files" directory need to be uploaded:

Files/arcade.php -> forumroot/arcade.php
Files/admincp/install_arcade.php -> forumroot/admincp/install_arcade.php
Files/admincp/arcadeadmin.php -> forumroot/admincp/arcadeadmin.php
Files/includes/functions_arcade.php -> forumroot/includes/functions_arcade.php
Files/includes/cron/arcadeupdate.php -> forumroot/includes/cron/arcadeupdate.php

The following directories (and their contents) also need to be uploaded:

Files/images/arcade/ -> forumroot/images/arcade/
Files/games/ -> forumroot/games/
Files/admincp/arcadejs/ -> forumroot/admincp/arcadejs/

Also, don't forget to upload the files which were modified earlier.

Final Steps
===========

Run forumroot/admincp/install_arcade.php. Follow each of the steps - when complete,
delete the file from the admincp directory.

The last thing you need to do is create a new "Scheduled Task" for the Arcade:
1. Click on "Add New Scheduled Task", in "Scheduled Task" section.
2. For the title, enter "Arcade Tasks".
3. Select "23" from the minute dropdown list.
4. For the filename, enter: "./includes/cron/arcadeupdate.php". (Without the quotes)
5. Click on "Save".

All done!

I have the proarcade installed on my forum. Can both of these arcades be run from the same forum? If not, what will I need to do to add the v3aracade and drop the proarcade?

I still get the permission error, but only when I try to add comment after a game? What could be wrong? Thank You

If your allowing guests to play, it cannot register a highscorerid because they have no id. You can either disallow visitors from playing, or, you can place an id check prior to the score write, to fix that.

If their not logged in, they shouldnt be able to play anyway. Thats your best bet.

When I tried to look into disabling guest play I couldn?t find which
option to change. General options are currently set as below:

If not, only Administrators will be able to view the arcade Yes

Is netPlay Installed?
Enables multiplayer gaming if netPlay is installed No

Display Arcade Awards in Postbit?
If enabled, highest scorers will have awards displayed in their postbit templates. Yes

Allow Quick Registration?
Prompts to register if an unregistered user tries to play Yes

Enable Automatic Score Pruning?
Auto-prune options can be found in the "Score Settings" section No

User's Highest Scores Only?
Only the a user's highest score will be listed in the leaderboards (IN DEVELOPMENT) No

vBCode Enabled in Comments?
Allows users to use vBCode in their comments Yes

IMG Code Enabled in Comments?
Allows users to post images in their comments, not recommended No

Smilies Enabled in Comments?

Go to the user group manager in the admin cp. Then click on unregistered / not logged in

Scroll down to arcade options

Can View the Arcade?
Allows usergroup to view the arcade, including high scores and leaderboards

Can Play Games in the Arcade?
Allows usergroup to play arcade games
