Here is what ya do, After extracting the files open the upload folder, open the includes folder ,open the xml folder and remove the bitfield_vbhtabs.xml file . Place that file into the xml folder in the upload/includes/xml file on your server, Then add the other xml file through the plugin feature in your admin control panel.

I had the same problem, but after fooling with it a bit that was answer.

all forum files need to go into the public_html folder you have some files outside that folder you need to delete them and keep all files inside the public_html this is the only place your forum files should be

yes you can do that give me the links you want to show in the bar the user groups you want to see it and the tab name in a pm
