Members seem to randomly receive permission errors and thanks is available on the first post but when clicked on thanks isnt given. Running version 7.8.3 on VBulletin 4.2.0 |
the file I pointed you to has all the fixes with out the version so called update..
Install it allow over write of the files and the xml.. |
Thanks hippy. I didnt see the file link at the bottom :) Its actually the one I already have installed.
I have tracked the issue down to being an issue with Digital Point ad system addon that I downloaded from here. If you select the option to show ad after last post, no thanks can be displayed on screen which is why I had the issue with no thanks for original/first post.. I am hoping that the permission issue is also somehow related. |
Any way to send users an alert/notification (same as when given reputation feature is used)? This shows up in usercp.php. I have the setting Set how many reputation a user should get if he gets thanked. Set to '0' to disable. set to '1' as well if that matters.
I am using 4.2.0 and everything else seems fine otherwise. EDIT: I have the mod Display Unread Posts (and Reputation Comments in 4.1) installed, Enable New Reputation Comments Notification in 'User Reputation Options' set to 'yes' as well. |
Can someone explain to me where I upload the 'upload ftp folder' please?

But be careful with this mod, as it is not one of the easier ones to get up and running. Especially note the part in post #1 that points out the attached files don't work and tells you where to get ones that do. |
why i can't used for vbulletin version 4.2.0 patch level 3. It's notice "This product is not compatible with version 4.2.0 of vBulletin"

So this mod can not be used for 4.2? Is there another thank you hack available on here? |

Thank you I will give it a go. |
Are there changes to the hack that need to be made if I am using it, and it is working, on 4.1.x and upgrade to 4.2.x?

After recent migration to a new server my users are getting the following errors when using this mod. Any ideas? I am running version 7.7 of the mod on a 3.8.7 vBulletin site.

This is not a problem with this add-on. It's a vBulletin issue. |
Thanks for this, just what I wanted. I am a complete novice where updates/hacks are concerned but it was really simple and easy to do.
 |
we love this mod and I already changed it.
e.g. http://www.pocketpc.ch/members/19502_yjeanrenaud.html we have a star ranking for the amount of thanks you got, both on profile page and posbits. if there's a demand, I'd code an addon for that requiring this mod of course and giving credits. oh, and it's linked to a user spcific "recent thanks received for" page which is also taking into account which posts a user viewing the page could see. but there is one thing really annoying me: when I thank somebody, it counts as a post! please change that |
This is an excellent idea, I really like it. I could definitely use some help installing it on my 4.2 site if anyone is willing. I tried, but I got lost. I'm an expert at losing myself.
|
installing what? post thank you hack?
|
I want to give total thanks to somewhere you like, for example like under avata, how to issue a variable and put it into the position i want.
|
Is this mod stable and if so, are there any risks of security holes due to the developer going MIA?
Thank you. |
don't think so.

One is obligated to read a mod's entire thread before installing it, and after you've done that you should know as much about it as we do. Or at least the last several pages anyway. That's especially important for this mod because the original version doesn't work at all. |
i don't think there are security holes. it's more or less stable I'd say.
|
Unfortunately it could be a breeding ground for spambots and hackers at this point, think i'll pass.
Thanks for your feedback Videx, I agree 420%. |
the mod auther may be mia but the mods posted with in the first linking to a post by myself
is all up to date read the thread by poking the link and forcehss also has his version Never tested it but I am sure it's close because alot use it as well.. I install it on most sites I work on and there is nothing that (spambots or hackers) can use or have used as a breeding ground .. Other wise it would be posted and pulled I worked hard keeping this mod alive along with everyone I mentioned in my post to each it's own |
|
I'd also like to know: how come you say it may be a breeding point for spambots and hackers? any clues on that or just wild guess?
|
replace your post_thanks_postbit_info template
with this code Code:
<vb:if condition="$post['userid']"> |
Quote:
youll have to make a new hook and add it to the postbit template your using and change the hook with in the post thanks plugin manager |
