Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to get the total number of shouts to show up on the forum home in the Statistics box? For instance: Threads: XXXX, Posts: XXXX, Shouts: XXXX, Members: XXXX

I have tried adding the $TS like this but I don't know anything about php so I couldn't get it to work:
Quote:

<div>
$vbphrase[threads]: $totalthreads,
$vbphrase[posts]: $totalposts,
Shouts: $TS,
$vbphrase[members]: $numbermembers<if condition="$show['activemembers']">,

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jeff

Ok, I just searched for "external" and it didn't yield results I'm looking for.

Now my question is, if I wanted to have the shoutbox on the main page (which isn't running CPMS or VB) is that even possible?

If so, how would I go about doing this? I know I'd have to allow guests and non-registered members the ability to post unless it stored their l/p in a cookie for the domain. But is it possible to have it remotely linked on the main domain seperate?

Aimee1969 04-28-2007 11:55 AM

I like this mod ;)

r0xt4r 05-02-2007 08:40 PM

Every now and then, I'll randomly get a database error in the shoutbox, and only the shoutbox... refreshing the entire page seems to fix it. Anyone have this problem or know what it might be?

I'm new to posting here for troubleshooting information, so forgive me if I didn't include all pertinent information for assistance. Let me know all, thanks for any help in advance that you could provide.

How to make messages with smilies in the middle from nicknames???

JeffreySmith 05-03-2007 12:15 PM

When you upgrade, does that reset your shoutbox stats?
Also is this the upgrade that allows me to set which usergroups can post in the shoutbox?

BANDiT600 05-04-2007 05:51 PM

do=shout&shout=test&do=shout&s=

Why two times do=shout and what is "s"???

jerseyda6 05-10-2007 04:34 AM

How do I do away with the time stamps? Also can I change the color of usernames that are chatting in the box?? and lastly How do I set it so when a user picks a color it will be their default and not go back to black.

If these are not possible with you shoutbox please let me know so I atleast know I cant do it and can relay the messages to my members

zompus 05-10-2007 04:38 AM

I mean, how do i get into the vbshout page were i can remove shouts?

Shazz 05-10-2007 04:45 AM

Using the search feature in this thread/site can solve many questions that you might have.
For removing shouts click on the shoutbox name itself above the shoutbox which will take you to the vbshout archive

dirty68 05-10-2007 05:06 AM

Is there a way for my members to keep the text color they have picked? instead of the default color, i have lazy members and they dont like the fact that when they do a shout in the color they have picked and then post on the forums then go back they have to pick the color again..... im ok with it being as it is but i have to keep my members happy
Dirty

xxHxx 05-10-2007 02:24 PM

shanevas2 05-10-2007 11:00 PM

click the text that says shoutbox on top of the box

xxHxx 05-11-2007 02:44 AM

Please help, did I need to upload something else as well? I am using Yahoo as my website provider could that be the issue?

My link so that you can see for yourself
www.womenmotorcyclistsunited.com/forum/index.php

I too have this issue.

I have followed the instructions to install the product, the vbshout.php is loaded in my forum root folder which I cannot chmod to 777 as I just get a white error page.

Am running vbulletin 3.6.5

Can anyone shed any light on this? i have seached this thread for answers but on-one seems to really provide an answer.

Thanks!

Go to your webserver files under forum root, if you find a folder called vbshout, inside the folder will be vbshout.php. Remove the vbshout.php file and put it in your forum root delete the folder vbshout. Open your forum home and it should work now.

AllenMead 05-12-2007 08:38 PM

There's definately no vbshout folder, only the php file.

This is gonna sound like a dumb question, but how? The file is loaded in the forum's root folder.

sinisterpain 05-12-2007 08:43 PM

First off you probably are not experiencing the same problem as I just encountered the loading issue, and it was because the php file was in a folder and not in the forum root. If this is not your problem then explain what is the exact problem without the quote of the other post. Is ajax enabled on your board
