This has always been the case (long before I ever started using flashchat) it's just that no one has noticed before (or if they have, never mentioned it). It *might* be possible to fix (possibly at the cost of an extra sql query each connection). Of course, people who state "I'll never use this again even if it's fixed" are complete muppets - if everyone took that attitude then problems would never get fixed.

Well since I don't have the ability to see into the future, nothing is done until a problem is notified to me, then a fix gets investigated - v2.58 is now released - this no longer uses the offending cookie.

Hey Paul,

Noticed after this upgrade on my board... that the product version is still 2.56. Might want to update the XML file :)

MAN, am I being excluded or something? I clicked Install but why I didnt get any email for upgrading. Cheeseee. If I don't take a look today probably I don't even know.

After the upgrade, unicode usernames don't work anymore. I see boxes instead of turkish characters... (uninstalled and installed the flashchat and checked utf-8 box but didn't work)

What is flashchat? Using IRC, PHP? Does it put huge loads on the server?

Unfortunately, that's why I said in the update that you really need Flashchat 4.5.3 or above - changes were made to international character handling, and corresponding changes in the CMS to match.
