Just be patient, Jelle won't drop this.
But it take some time to recode stuff, test it, at least if you want a product released which is without bugs when it's released. That's what Jelle wants.
And then he has his study. Version 6 will come I'm sure of that.

yeah but his signature says end of june. so since we dont see a new release in july or at least a word from him we start speculating that he wont release a new version

"It also works with vBulletin 3.7 (except for the optional profile template changes)." .... im a little lost, does it work with 3.7.2??

It doesn't make a lot of sense why he doesn't post updates in this thread. If he is still updating this mod, why keep everyone in the dark about it's development.

I'll be paying my own developer to fix this and add features. I'll try to contact jelle to get permission to post it up so other's can benefit.

Yup, I am using 3.7.2.

It is working fine for me...on ground level, ever since after the incident where I can't upload a file, but managed to link a file after an upgrade from 3.7.1 to 3.7.2

That means that it works with 3.7, but the optional profile changes aren't applicable because they completely changed the way the profile looks in 3.7.x.

I'm confused with the license of this mod. The license says "Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes." Does it mean that we cannot use this mod in a site where I charge my member for a fee (through VB subscription) to download something?

Yes, it would. You don't generally keep people in the dark about how something is coming along. He could post in here "It's taking longer than I thought, but it's coming soon" and that would quell the fears that this isn't going to happen. That's what other developers do.

Would anyone like to share the cost of getting this updated as well as possibly adding features people want?

DownloadsII v5 is a derivate from Ronin's ecDownloads (which was removed from vB.org due to security issues). We needed to respect his license, which was this Creative Commons thing.
As v6 will be a full recode, it will have our own "license" (normal copyright) with no more commercial restriction.

Getting it ready in three days after my exams was a bit too difficult. I dropped out some unfinished stuff and moved it to v6.1 (for example the use of the datastore cache) and now I'm finishing the last bits (integration of the new extension management in the upload/download mechanism and the new search). Most of the stuff is already ready and tested (for example the new report feature).

Yes, there will be a separate upgrade script to remove v5 and convert to v6.

In my website the total number of downloads is 11174
After upgrade the counter will be zero or ??

It will keep all data and just convert the database tables etc. You will only loose your ratings/votes as there's a new system with vB stars.

It's almost finished. I'm only struggling with the vB Lightbox at the moment as the integration won't work.

That is awesome news! We have well over 100,000 downloads and now I dont have to worry about losing the stats.

i have a question - is it possible for me to give certain members the ability to upload in certain section and not others? i can set a restriction on the sections people can see but i want everyone to see all sections but only able to upload in one section.

I'm having a problem with installing this mod.

I get a 500 Internal Error everytime I go to where the downloads section is, any help?

Nothing much to offer except download the zip file again from here then try loading the files back up to your server.

Hi!!! it is great. (sorry, but my english is very poor).
i have a question: how can I reset the downloads counter to zero?? because my Download's section is in beta fase, and when I open the section, i want to all counters be in 0.
