Anybody have any ideas on how to get the short urls (http://www.eaforums.com/forums/amykhar for example) to show up properly on who's online?

Couldn't you do this with .htaccess?

amykhar 08-01-2005 05:04 PM

htaccess creates the short urls. What I need is for who's online to show the user page the viewer is looking at.

EasyTarget 08-01-2005 05:40 PM

I'd like the ability to enable/disable shouts if you're still working on stuff to add. I can't remember if this was included or not (I had this installed on a 3.5b4 test board), if it already is.. disregard this :D

great hack.

another idea.. maybe get together with zero tolerance and implement his ajax shoutbox for the userpages as well.

Sovereign 08-01-2005 05:47 PM

Well, you can do template replace but it only replaces URLs, so you have to then let your users see the exact location of everyone, and it still says Unknown Location above which is teh suck.

Im kinda stuck on this step, can you help... what does rebuild your bitfields mean? thanks

3. Upload bitfield_userpage.xml to your includes/xml directory. Rebuild your bitfields.

amykhar 08-02-2005 01:19 AM

Expert, it explains how to do that in the first post of the thread.

ExpertDomino 08-02-2005 05:15 AM

Im getting this in my Usergroup Manager when I try to change the permissions,

Im on this step:

Quote:

4. In your admincp usergroup manager, set permissions for each of your user groups.
To be honest, I dont think I "rebuild bitfields" correctly or whatever that means because I executed that link in your FAQ in the first post and it just linked me to my Admin CP (basically the index.php in admincp) without the Navgation Menu on the left. Hmmm *thinking*......

Marco van Herwaarden 08-02-2005 06:15 AM

Your screenshot indicate that phrases are missing.

About the rebuild bitfields, yes it don't produce any visible output, i already posted that in teh bugtracker at vb.com, but it wasn't seen as a problem.

ExpertDomino 08-02-2005 06:42 AM

How do I get the "phrases" there?

Marco van Herwaarden 08-02-2005 06:47 AM

See FAQ #2 in the first post of this thread.

ExpertDomino 08-02-2005 07:40 AM

Ok i get all the way to the Plugin to upload the XML file and it's saying Invaild file????

Edit: was trying to upload it at wrong spot, sorry!

Clicks *Installs*

Boofo 08-02-2005 08:37 AM

Does the Edit Userpages setting in the Usergroups mean they can edit their own page or others can edit it? If I turn that off, will they still be able to edit their own page?

It's edit own. Moderate is that others can edit it.

Boofo 08-02-2005 02:01 PM

Maybe I'll change it to edit own then. ;)

I have made a couple of small additions to this (date AND time of last edit) and also centering the messarea if you are interested. ;)

awesome hack! ... first thing that cam to my mind was: 'finally something to addon to the existing awesoem vbulletin forums that will help 'keep' those members that seem to be migrating to the personal page communities such as MYSPACE.com and others...

with this addon, we can give our members this alternative as well that makes those personal page communities so attractive... speaking of what makes those attractive, how about the ability to link personal pages based on who your BUDDIES are?? the buddy system is already in place in the existing VB, how about this addon communicating with that so in your page you can see your buddies (and their avatars) as well..

will be first install once we migrate our community from vb3.0.x to vb3.5.0 ... great job!!!

That sounds like an interesting addon to make. Thanks for your kind words. :)

Neal-UK 08-04-2005 09:40 AM

I'm getting permission error when I try to remove a users page. Any help on this please?:

Quote:

Neal, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I just tested the report feature also, it shows on the top X stats, but does not show anywhere in the forum.

I click on the link and it says I do not have permission.

My userid is 2, not 1. Is this the problem?

Boofo 08-04-2005 10:47 AM

Amy, I am also getting a permissions error when I try to delete my own page with the Delete this page link. The report link brings up the box ok for me though. ;)

are you set as id number 1 on your site boofo? Think this could be my problem

amykhar 08-04-2005 11:41 AM

Did you guys set the perms for your usergroup to be able to moderate users?

Amy

Yeah, all set up. All on

amykhar 08-04-2005 12:00 PM

OK. I don't know how I managed to change this line before release, but find:
Code:

  if ($pageexists)
  {
          print_no_permission();
  }

  if ($confirm)

Change
Code:

  if ($pageexists)
to
Code:

  if (!$pageexists)

Did you set the forumid in the code to one that you want the report posted in?

Amy

No sorry, take it I can do that via the plugin?

amykhar 08-04-2005 12:14 PM

No. In the top of userpage.php, you see a list of commented variables that you can change. Things like the forumid, number of shouts per page, etc.

Amy

Neal-UK 08-04-2005 12:18 PM

Right done that, when a report comes in though this message is like this:

Quote:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN\" \"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd\">
Neal has reported a problem with this personal page.

testing

userpage.php?userid=2
I click the link above but it only goes to http://userpage.php?userid=2
I changed the link in the userpage.php file but it still did the same.

Nope, as number 2. I don't see how that would make a difference, anyway, since this is based off of usergroup permissions and not user permissions. Or did I miss something?

amykhar 08-05-2005 04:17 AM

Go to your phrase manager. Open any phrase and save it."

How do i know what phrases came with the plug in?

Sorry & Thanks,
- Michael :tired:

Edit: Got it Thanks!

Boofo 08-05-2005 04:55 AM

Amy, does this also tell who reported the userpage? That might be good to know. ;)

amykhar 08-05-2005 12:45 PM

Yes, it does Bob.

Boofo 08-05-2005 06:54 PM

Then I'm all set, thanks! ;)

achtungbaby 08-05-2005 07:19 PM

Is it me or are none of the demo links working?
