*installs*
great job. i likes it. *edit* btw, i just upped to 3.5.1 and then ran this. zero problemas. |
Great Hack! Just installed it on vB 3.5.0 (w/ security patch) and works awesome!
It's so cool how you can edit the 'welcomepm' Varname from within the vB options, instead of having to go screwing around in the Phrase Manager. Thanks a million! Joe |
Works excellent.
/me installs. :squareeyed: |
Great mod, thanks :)
|
This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you enter line breaks in the message? I tried <br /> but that doesn't translate.
Much appreciated. |
Hi,
I installed the welcomepm a few weeks ago and it used to work perfectly 'till the last couple of days. When a new user signs up, it doesn't send anything. I have removed the hack and reinstalled, yet the same results. Regards |
@RetroDreams
Simply hit return @kadafi_alive I got no idea. Most likely you are doing smth. wrong. |
Hi,
I have no knowledge of doing these things but I have uploaded the file to /includes what do I do next? Thanks |
Btw, I can confirm that this mod/hack works great after upgrading to vB 3.5.1!
Thanks again for the excellent hack! J. |
@PowerKnowledge
I suggest to just exactly follow the installation instructions. |
Installed and appears to be workin okay.

The german language pack is broken/doesn't install :(

everything else seems to be working :) |

It's just that: A language pack, not a complete product. |

Can someone explain what the language pack does please? Btw, I've installed this and it works great. Thanks :D
|
My wild guess: It makes the Hack into German.

PMs aren't being sent after upgrading to 3.5.1. Any ideas?
|
Hi Andreas !
One thing concerning your nice hack: I have activated the e-mail verification for new users. When a user register, and confirm his registration via the link in the mail, he gets the welcome PM. Everything fine. But.. If a registred user changes his e-mail adress, the same process is started. He gets an email, and must confirm his new mail-address. He is doing this and: Yes, he gets again the welcome PM, though it is an "old" member, that only changed his mail-address. Is there maybe a way, you can recognize, if it is an acacount-activation from a new registration or from an e-mail change ? It would be nice, if the PM is only send to really new users. Best regards Jörg |
This should not happen - except if he hasn't made any posts.
|
Yes, sorry, you are right.
The board is not active yet, and I tested it only with my testuser, who had no postings. BR Jörg |
Well, if the user has no postings there is not much criteria that could be used to determine if it is th first activation or one due to an eMail change.
Besides that, vBulletin itself uses the same criteria to decide if a welcome eMail should be sent or not. |
does this work with 3.5.1?
