Yes this is true. It has nothing to do with the problem. It's just several people forget to rename the file and they wonder why their index page doesn't show as the portal.

Apparantly support is best for this hack at the author's home site: www.vbadvanced.com.

Clicks install, for my test site. I will be putting this into productin very soon, works very nice.

Cookie issues I guess... if I'm logged in, I can't log out on the Portal or if I'm logged out, I log in, my username appears on the online list but the log in boxes still show and permissions remain as a guest... any ideas?

Just checking to see whether vBadvanced has a THIS_SCRIPT location... like by default the forumhome is "index".

you put the portal in the root directory of your webserver as opposed to the root directory of your forum.

after installing this hack i am getting problem looging on admincp.Any ideas why ????

No ideas... the install has worked perfectly for me each time. I suggest heading over to vbadvanced.com -- Brian is a nice dude and does offer support, but he is also very busy, and obviously checks his forum more often than this place.

Has anyone installed this hack on the latest forum without any other hacks? I've got errors that apparently dreamweaver caused due to corrupting the files, but I've tried in notepad and still got them So has anyone got the files from the forum that need changed that they could send me?? :-\

Hi, I wanted to know if there was a way, when making a custom page, to grab the title and have it display in the custom template.

"Custom page module" simply dispaly the contenst of the template you cpecified. Simply edit the template.

Anyone know howto create box in the forum ? I have create some on the portal page but can't figure out howto add some on the forum ( both sides , left/right)

I have this portal installed, and have the left sidebar appearing on the forums home page... but I noticed if you add too many modules to the left or right columns it also appears in on the forum home page in the

"New posts No new posts A closed forum"

legend at the bottom of the page.

Is there a fix for this? (other then keeping anything that appears there on the left side so it doesn't appear in the legend)

Just looked at your site, and you have your forums installed on your website homepage, not sure if that's why you're getting the error. But I would assume you can't install a portal which is going to use your website index page when you're already using it for your forums. Move your forums into a subfolder like it is set up here on vbulletin.org.

( Make your forums appear in www.gamehub.co.uk/forums instead of www.gamehub.co.uk )

Don't know if that'll fix the error, but you ain't installin this portal (or any other portal for that matter) with your forums on the page it uses for the portal.

If you mean that you wish to create a portal module to display on the front page, you would have to create a template and a module to display it on the front page... Once you get the hang of it, which is very quickly, you can pump out modules in a matter of secondes. I am not expert but I am using vBadvanced CMPS
here and if I can do it anyone can do it.

Small problem here, when I set to require to login before viewing threads, and of course when people reachs file cmps_index.php (outside the forum root) the vbulletin message would come up and says "must login..." and shame on it, the login.php isn't even exist outside forum root :ermm: Any suggestion?

On the frontpage of my vBadvanced CMS I have 3 latest news blocks (centered) with news from forumid2. Under those blocks I have the newsarchives named 'news: last 10' (pointed to forumid2).

But I also have a forum with reviews only (forumid3). I don't need to have them on the frontpage as newsitems, but I do want a newsarchive (pointed to forumid3).

This way I will have:
- 3 newsblocks (taken from forumid2)
- 1 block with 'last 10 newsarticles' (archive pointed to forumid2)
- 1 block with 'last 10 reviews' (archive pointed to forumid3).

I saw exactly what I need on this site (www.gzhq.net), but can't find the options in vBadvanced. So my question is: how do I show more archives?

Anybody got a fix for this?
