Can someone post final release of WYSIWYG editor. With fixed files... ????

ZiRu$ 11-03-2002 11:10 PM

i installed the hack.......but theres too many problems and add-ons.

Some functions never displayed smoothly. Oh well....

Erwin 11-04-2002 12:09 AM

I have to say that I've been using this hack from the day it was released, and it's been working 100% without any problems for me. :)

filburt1 11-15-2002 12:36 AM

Hey Alex, is there a way to port this to a pure phpinclude/template-based system? It would be cool even if it meant removing some functionality (i.e., WYSIWYG per forum and per user, etc.).

Okiewan 11-15-2002 06:33 PM

Great hack, installed and working well. Two requests if I may?
1) Can someone show me how to add the Quote and IMG tags? With those two added back it, it would be perfect IMHO.

2) Allow use of the editor by usergroup?

Thanks again and thanks in advance for any assistance.

khackney 01-11-2003 04:41 AM

Hey all,

Just installed this hack on my dev boards and I am getting the following error when I submit a post or reply.

Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 2.2.9:

Invalid SQL: SELECT field5 FROM userfield WHERE userid=1
mysql error: Unknown column 'field5' in 'field list'

mysql error number: 1054

Date: Friday 10th of January 2003 11:31:58 PM
Script: http://dev.phpfixation.com/forums/forums/newreply.php
Referer: http://dev.phpfixation.com/forums/ne...ply&threadid=4
For some reason it seems to be adding an extra forum directory in there. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
khackney

khackney 01-11-2003 04:41 AM

ACK! double post *sorry*

eiSecure 01-11-2003 05:09 PM

I believe the errors you are getting are not caused by this hack itself, but is caused by incompatibilities with your previousely installed hacks.

khackney 01-11-2003 05:59 PM

eiS,

That is what I was afraid of =(.

Thanks

groovesalad 02-17-2003 07:11 AM

I installed this hack, but nothing shows up....weird.

Erwin 02-17-2003 05:56 PM

I've installed this hack from day one, and it has been working 100% since. :) All it needs are buttons that stay down when pressed. ;)

Are you using Mozilla or Opera, etc?

The script auto-detects which browser you're using, and if you're not on a browser that supports it (everything except IE), then it will just switch to the default display.

yeh i just installed the hack on Vb2.3 release candidate 3 yes Erwin i did, it i updated from 2.3release one just for the image verification :D
lol i deleted my whole forum and then used my backup database after adding all my old hacks again
wasn;t too bad actually cuz all the templates were done

anyway to the point it would be good if the buttons did stay stuck down

nferreri 03-20-2003 09:10 PM

I love this hack. Makes me happier waiting for v3 to come out.

One question though, I noticed when you edit a message it doesn't display the message in WYSIWIG.. it puts all the codes in.. is it possible to have it translate an edited message into WYSIWIG?

DirectPixel 03-20-2003 09:41 PM

For that, just apply the same template modifications for newreply in editthread

nferreri 03-21-2003 05:29 PM

u mean newreply.php ??? i dont recall doing any template CHANGES....

can you provide a bit more details on this?

thanks :)

nferreri 03-21-2003 05:34 PM

Okay, let me explain this a bit better I think I might have said this wrong.

In edit message the WYSIWYG editor does come up just fine but the actual text inside doesn't translate the HTML codes into WYSIWYG.

I have the same problem when editing a post i see normal VB code and not the WYSIWYG. see pic. . .

Also in the more smilies window; When a smile is clicked it does not add it to the post.

Other than that This hack ROCKS!!!

this is probably not the best way to do this but Iwas thinking the same thing. Perhaps have a Style that is available only to a certain usergroup and add the templates to that style and that style only. Then they would have the ability to use it if they wanted to.

Just a idea if anyone can do this better (and i am sure you can) please let me know!!

It's been down for almost a year.

Erwin 05-18-2003 02:15 AM

The hack still works very well though. :) I've got it working on my private site for newthread, newreply, editpost and PMs.

DirectPixel 05-18-2003 03:32 PM

heh, /me thinks I need to work a bit more on it.;)

xs1 05-20-2003 01:11 PM

working fine for me on 2.3.0

xs1 05-21-2003 06:00 AM

sucessfully installed thx for the author !:d!

but how do i do the 9th step

9. To reduce the ues of extra queries, its always good to add the custom templates to the $templatesused = "" list.
1. In newthread.php, find:
-----
$templatesused = "newpost_postpreview,
-----

Replace it with this:
-----
$templatesused = "newpost_postpreview, newthread_wysiwyg,
-----

2. In newreply.php, find:
-----
$templatesused = "quotereply,
-----

Replace it with this:
-----
$templatesused = "quotereply, newreply_wysiwyg,
-----

3. In editpost.php, find:
-----
$templatesused="forumrules,
-----

Replace it with this:
-----
$templatesused="forumrules, editpost_wysiwyg

cheerz

DirectPixel 05-21-2003 10:09 PM

Just follow the find/replace commands.:)

(I'm the author, btw.:))

Erwin 05-22-2003 06:40 AM

Hi! Name change I see... :)

DirectPixel 05-22-2003 07:05 PM

Yep!:)

dotagious 05-24-2003 01:16 AM

I installed this hack on 2.3.0 without a single problem.

However, I see you miss out on some functionality with this. Is it possible to add some of the missing functions such as inserting images, php code, quotes, etc.?

I also don't like that the submit new thread/preview new thread buttons display submit new post/preview new post even if you are creating a thread.

Thanks!

dotagious 05-24-2003 01:20 AM

Oh.. and the install.txt tells you to create a folder called "toolbars" instead of the correct name of "toolbar". In addition, it makes no mention of placing the vbcode.js anywhere.

Yeah the directions should be edited... Had no problem figuring out the toolbar mis-naming but, did forget all about the vbcode.js when I upped it all and tested..

dotagious 05-24-2003 05:33 AM

The minor template changes towards the end of install.txt should also be bundled with the initial template changes.

gmarik 05-24-2003 10:56 AM

Wish this gif would be cut and remade for the new WYSIWYG panel. Anybody can do that for me?

dotagious 05-28-2003 07:56 PM

bah... is this a dead issue?

Those are all just template modifications. If you want to add in or take away a button, just delete that portion of the code from the template.

Oh, I'm sure they are just template modifications. However if I knew how to code, I wouldn?t have asked. ;) Could anyone tell me what code to add and where? I'm sure SOMEONE that installed this hack added the Image, Code, Quote, etc. buttons.

Erwin 05-31-2003 12:01 AM

Any way of keeping a button depressed when being used? :)

xpguy 06-10-2003 08:31 AM

i cant get it to show up i edited all the files and templates but it keep the same as the old one :S any help would be grateful
