We don't officially support Nginx at this time, though you can convert the htaccess rules to run on nginx and it should work fine :)[/QUOTE]

Make sure you're using yourdomain.com/dbseositemap.php as the URL :)

Bug Fixes And Issue Fixes:
  • Canonical URL redirection now works even if the canonical URL output is disabled
  • (vB4) There should no longer be duplicate "Canonical URL" insertions for threads
  • (vB4) Forums upgraded from vB3 would display incorrect Album / Social Group / Blog Attachments
  • (vB4) Certain vB versions could not build the sitemap due to autoloading issues

Running this for a few days now. Maybe it's too early to expect results but it's definitely doing something.

Hello I have one question. I have a lot of DBTech products on my forums and I wanted to know something.

If I buy the products, Can I eliminate the "Links to DragonByte Technologies homepage"?

I mean, I have like 3 links to the same web, Can I delete all but one?
Its horrible when you are in the mobile version and you see al these links...

There are no recommended settings. It's flexible enough for you to go with whatever you like.

The only thing you need to change is the Sitemap settings, make sure you point the relevant setting to a writeable directory and turn on the sitemap builder, then run the initial generation :)

How can I reidrect old vbulletin standard SEO URLS to this mod.

Currently they are redirecting to home.

DragonByte Tech 05-21-2014 10:21 PM

The Mod Rewrite friendly URLs?

Try this:
Code:

RewriteRule ^threads/([0-9]+)(?:/?$|(?:-[^/]+))(?:/?$|(?:/page([0-9]+)?)) /showthread.php?t=$1&page=$2 [R=301,L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^forums/([0-9]+)(?:/?$|(?:-[^/]+))(?:/?$|(?:/page([0-9]+)?)) /forumdisplay.php?f=$1&page=$2 [R=301,L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^entries/([0-9]+)(?:/?$|(?:-[^/]+))(?:/?$|(?:/page([0-9]+)?)) /entry.php?b=$1&page=$2 [R=301,L,QSA]

Thanks for this mod,
Installed in earlier in the week, QQ on the sitemap.

In Google Webmaster, I added my sitemap and as of today it says it submitted about 30k but only 5k indexed.

Why would there be such a difference?
Any way to fix it?

Google doesn't index all pages/content. With that said and with your numbers (5k indexed versus 30k submitted) it appears Google hadn't been crawling your site very much at all previously. This will now change with regular sitemap submissions.

The first time you submit the sitemap a large part of the number you see indexed will be made up of the number of pages Google indexed prior to your sitemap even being submitted. This number should increase quickly over the next few days and weeks (especially with your difference in pages submitted versus indexed). Just because a page is submitted and crawled does not mean it gets indexed immediately, it will take some time especially for 25,000 pages.

My bounce rate went through the floor immediately after installing this - practically to zero. Combining that with a doubling of pageviews and number of sessions which have remained stagnant, it makes me wonder what this is really helping with. I am wondering if something is wrong or I need to tune it somehow.

Are you using the new Universal Analytics or the older version that is being phased out?

Did you remove any/all Google Analytics code you may have been using prior to installing DBSEO?

I'm using the older version of Google Analytics and I did not remove any old Google Analytics code prior to installing DBSEO.

What do you recommend?

highlander29 05-24-2014 06:47 PM

I just removed the old Google Analytics code.

Bounce rate will do that when your URLs first start 301 redirecting from old content. For however long it takes for all your visits to originate from the new SEO URLs, your bounce rate will be lower than normal.

That should fix your pageview count issue. If the older Google Analytics code appears multiple times on the same page it can cause statistic issues including multiple pageview counts on a single pageload. The new Universal Analytics code is not suppose to be susceptible to this, but you should always try to only have the code called once per page.

I see the new versions coming out. How difficult is it to upgrade to these new versions? The reason I ask is that I had real problems with the initial install that the hosting provider tried twice. DragonByte then did it for me and it ran flawlessly, after he tweaked it some. I'm just worried about things getting messed up in a reinstall.

Easy to do just upload all files via the FTP overwriting the old ones, then do the same with the xml. You won't need to change any settings

RPSmedia 05-26-2014 02:53 AM

I got this error when trying to manually build the sitemaps:

DELETE FROM adminutil WHERE title = 'dbtech_dbseo_sitemapsession';

ramesh_umk3 05-26-2014 06:50 AM

increase memory_limit and timeout it will solve

RPSmedia 05-26-2014 03:43 PM

Where is that done at? Thanks

In your php.ini configuration file.

memory_limit : http://www.php.net/manual/en/ini.cor...i.memory-limit

max_execution_time : http://www.php.net/manual/en/info.co...execution-time

...or you could just try changing the "URLs Per Page" setting under Sitemap - General Settings. Default is "30000", you could try "20000" if that doesn't work "10000". This will also reduce memory and time requirements for sitemap building.

RPSmedia 05-26-2014 09:44 PM

I took it 5000 and still get the error

jaxo 05-28-2014 02:03 PM

UPdate.. I have found that its "Rewrite Meta Keywords: Threads" that is causing the problem.. If I turn this feature off it stops displaying the error... However Id like this feature turned on so if anyone knows how to fix it I`d appreciate it if they could let me know how to fix ;-)

Alibass 05-28-2014 02:14 PM

Did you just install this mod?

Wondering if it might be your custom skin?

I noticed if you go directly to http://cccam-exchange.com/forum you don't get the error.

jaxo 05-28-2014 02:20 PM

Yeah I have it installed.. I thought that myself too so tried it on the mobile skin but it is producing same error..

have the setting switched off in control panel that causing the prob atm so thats why its not showing error
