Does this integrate with posts/threads in any way?

I would like to see each listing be a thread/posted in a forum. And the comments being posts.

I'm assuming this isn't how it works but I wanted to check prior to buying. We need something that allows us to run a "forum" as a classifieds category.

while importing this, my admin CP froze on the please wait page with this error message
"Invalid query: MySQL server has gone away41"

What does that mean, do i need to fix something?

Im guessing its something to do with using the library internet and it being a crappy signal?

Panjo does that but i wouldn't recommend them. They made an update to their system and our entire panjo mod drops out until updated, now unable to update. This was a huge issue for us as some people relied on our site for sales. Cost us our reputation and now we have no classified section!

Over a series of weeks, we gave our partners notice about the impending upgrade. We then kept both the former and new systems running in parallel for a few weeks. Then we sunset the old system.

Not only was it a non existant integration but your plug in completely crashed, removing itself from our system before i even had chance to touch or look at it. Something that was done offsite on your end not giving our forum the opportunity to choose wither to upgrade or not. We had no control over this.

This causes huge reliability issues for us.

one thing i've noticed tho, i've changed the settings to allow non registered users to view the listings but for some reason we can actually view it without an account on our site. any reason for this?

'Partly' is the answer to your question. We have integration where a thread is created for new listings. But it isn't that the listing is run from there. It allows a form of discussion if you want it. In version 2 we're looking at allowing comments both public and private within the listing itself. Not sure if that will help with you situation or not. :)

Much of the box structure comes from the StyleVars associated with the Sidebar. That might help in future. :)

Widgets are a planned feature of version 2. :)

Changing the names is possible if you put vBulletin into debug mode which reveals the Manage Listing Types page in the AdminCP. You can access it directly by navigating to the page /dbtclassifieds.php?do=listingtypes in your ACP folder.

At the moment we have the three listing types and we are developing more options in version 2 (working on them right at this moment) so we should have more available. If there aren't any to what you need listed over at www.dragonbyte-tech.com, feel free to post some suggestions for us to take a look at. :)

I'll take a look to see if there is an issue. Have you set the usergroup permissions for just Classifieds? It might be if you've restricted access globally that you could have issues (i.e. banned them from the whole site).

What have you got selected for your categories? If no Usergroups are selected for a category then all users can see, whereas if select at least one usergroup, any other unselected usergroups won't see.

I think that might be the issue here as just giving permissions for the main usergroups should give access (just checked on my dev install).

Can you tell me how do i change the default for postage? its on the wrong default and i dont see an option to change.

You can manage postage options via the Postage Manager, but default settings are only possible in the Pro version. Other than that a user has access to global postage (ones that aren't tied to a particular user) and their own postage options. They can then choose which ones they want available. Are you referring to the default selected option when buying a listing?

When I try to delete I get an ad:

"Listing cannot be cancelled as it has already ended."

Why?

Perhaps the timer on the listing has gone past the current time? A listing can't be cancelled from the system after it's ended to allow user's to keep a track of their past transactions.

In this way like is now (without to show this button, All the guest will never see that they can buy.

In this way no one that come in my forum like guest will buy nothing and for this nothing the vendors come to sell them items.

Classifieds works exclusively between users. If the admins want to setup a site specific account they can use a user to do so, but it isn't a shop or classifieds between the site and users. It is possible for the site to choose to add fees to user transactions.

Fixed an issue with some invalid actions/white pages coming up in the latest download. A folder was incorrectly named. Delete or rename the folder:

If we want to ship in the Continental US only, and include only Continental US States. Can we delete all others countries and states from CP without issues? And what if later on we want to add them back? I would like to make a suggestion for future improvement in this area. In Admin CP have check boxes for the countries we would like to include for shipping. Then by doing so only that countries states or districts (I guess you might call them) will come up with the counties of choice. Plus, our individual sellers don't/won't make errors when selecting. For Example: we would only ship to the continental US, US Military locations, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Then our sellers would not be spending a huge amount of time going through countries when creating their listings. It's just a thought :) Also, when I put something on Watch it only "emails" 1 warning. It would be nice to have 2 warnings and not only email but PM the watching member also. Also, I was never messaged that I was out bid. If there is an option for classifieds to do this or not I can't find it. And lastly; Back to shipping: On average our sellers will use USPS, FedEx and UPS. Depending on where they ship to with any of these services it will be at different rates and different even from another seller. So EVERYONE has to ad their screen name to each and every shipping option, Example: Spikes Coral Express FedEx Overnight $65.00 and so one... this not only gets very lengthy in the ad listing when adding several options but there has to be a better way. I know I said one more thing but this is truly the last. It would be terrific to either have a user manual for seller and one for buyer. Or the ? next to an area one might not understand how to do or what it is about. All in all it's a really good classifieds Mod and we love it. Thank you :)

Yes, they can be deleted, and they can be added without issue, though it will take a lot of time to add them again.

A good idea. We have some plans in place to improve the postage system in version 2. I'll add these ideas into that where I can. :)

Can you confirm what you mean by one warning and why you are expecting/wanting two? :)
The system can and should be sending a PM and an email, unless you have disabled one or the other. I've had a report that there might be some issues with it, which I'm looking into. So any information you can provide would help. :)

For auctions, it should be by standard sending such a message out. Are you able to verify that? Has it happened more than once? What settings do you have for your messaging alerts?

If I'm following you correctly, it is already partly possible. A postage option can be created without a user linked to it in the AdminCP which is globally available. We are wanting to improve the postage system to allow for more variety in pricing, etc.

We are planning on a manual for at least the Install and basic running of the mod. The ? idea is a nice one. It might be something we can do.

It only emailed when the time was up/over for the auction. It was set for 1 hour before auction was over. Some people like the option of having 2 warnings (being busy people). Like a 1 day or 1 hour warning and time is up in 15 minutes for instance.

We tried that. The problem is that it says "all countries" when doing this. Our sellers are not able to ship to "all countries" and even if they could the pricing would be different to send a $65 US shipping cost to the UK which would be much higher. We'd have a poor seller and angry buyer because the seller would cancel the sale...

This would be fantastic!

Also I'd like to add yet one more thing...
In an effort to making our forum a little more "clean" looking, we realized that what isn't clean about it is all the boxes - module boxes that is. I know they're in use in all forums to organize and make things easily found. But in that effort, too much of any one thing is too much and defeats the original purpose. That being said, I would like to request in your next mod update is a way to turn off the module wrapper for the scrolling "featured" boxes that get located around the site. Even if it can be done in the admin settings would be good.) In the meantime, is there a way to edit this in styles possibly?

Yesterday we installed the Lite Version - but we are also very interested in the Pro. But I have some questions.

At first about the fees:
Yes, there is an option to set fees, but it does not work at our forum. How and when will the merchant be notified about the fees and to have the possibility to pay for it? In all our test-sellings, there wer alway no fees. What did I maybe wrong?

And then I have a question, if it is also possible for other user to ask questions under the normal listing of one product. Maybe a normal Forum discussion under the detail site of one product.

And question number three is: Is it possible to make different fees depending on the condition of a product that a user submits? Maybe more if it is a "new" product...

Having a issue with the page load when I have the Classifieds showing at the top of thread view.

The page loads and then teh classifieds load and refeshes/reloads the page to so that it is longer. When you are reading or typing a reply it is very annoying.

Can this be fixed so that the classifieds area stays the one size and then the ads and text are loaded into the space?

We've got a fix out tonight for some of the Insertion Fees. Regarding the other two questions, a commenting system is being added in version 2 (done in the Alpha versions already) and fees based on conditions is on the board to do as well. :)

There is no AJAX loading of Classifieds listings when using the Ads, just a cycling through of existing images loaded with the page itself. Can you point me to an example of this issue? I'll see if I can find out what's causing it. :)
