First things first, I upgraded to the latest version and the style issue was resolved. Thanks! I have a small team beta testing this on my site so I am going to add any issues I find. Hopefully i can locate them all for a final release. :)

When viewing an ad and similar classifieds are shown, the title doesn't link to the classified ad. It links to my sites homepage.

Someone posted a "Wanted" ad and when I view it I have the option to "Make Offer". There is nothing to make an offer on since they are seeking a product or service. The same is true for posting a trade. There should be either a different form for trades and the wanted section, that caters to that type of listing, or should we remove the "Make Offer" entirely for those?

Under the "Make Offer" form there is a spelling error. It says "Conatct Phone" which should read "Contact Phone". (I manually corrected the phrase but am pointing it out for the next release.)

I have attached a screenshot to show another small style issue.

I also have a request, though I will understand if you don't do it. Could you please pass titles in the url. Instead of it saying "category-2" it would be better for SEO if it said "cat-title-2". The same is true for products. By passing the title into the url vBseo and .htaccess can pass it as a keyword rich link.

penguinboy888 05-16-2013 01:40 AM

Works great. So what do you think of changing the GET RSS to a button to match the rest of vbulletin? /images/misc/rss.png

Also on a side note I have had a few testers use it and did not notice the Make Offer link at first. What do you think if that was a button too?

Thanks Chris to support RTL.

I noticed two bugs in the navbar.

1- For RTL, the arrow should be in the another direction.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1368686453

2- In the main page of classified, this arrow should be deleted.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1368686734

It is not important :)

Hi Chris

It's possible to make a legend with the statistics of the old ads?
When an ad has been sold no trace remains in the market.

New users do not realize the old sales that have occurred.
Finding statistics or an area containing the old ads you could entice utentoa d use the system.

Do you mean something like: Sold: xxxx . It can be done but only for Ads that the seller has marked as "Sold" but didn't deleted them from the system. Otherwise, still can be done by adding a counter in database, but it''s not that easy.

It mite have already been asked, where can I change the time and date format?

Sorry found it!

Hi Chris,

Nor sure if this has been addressed or asked for.

I have had several Trades people ask if they can list in the classified directory. But there ad would need to stay their for a contracted period, usually 3,6 0r 12 months.

Cheers

How long will be the maximum duration is up to you. You can setup on per usergroup basis the maximum duration.

As promised, I just released a widget with latest classifieds for vB CMS. You can download Widget_Latest_Classifieds.zip but read carefully the installation.txt file.

Currently I will reply only to this as I'm in rush. I don't agree and please allow me to explain in simple English a real example: "I'm placing a wanted ad looking to find a smartphone. You're reading my ad and because you've for sale an iPhone you're MAKING AN OFFER to me to buy the iPhone". So I believe that the word "Make Offer" best fits in wanted ads. Because all visitors will make offers to the ad owner.

Are you planning on making one for the forum home page?

ps...This is one of the best add-ons I've added to our forum, IMO should be a stock feature in vBulletin ;)

Christos can I be a real pain and ask you for some code ?

I would like to add a drop down menu in the post review page to ask members how they saw the match.

The Question would be :
Where did you see the game:

The options would be:
I was there
At the pub
At home

TIA

I had almost finished my reply on how to add an extra field for this, when I realized that you want this field to be available to users and not only to the review's author. Right? Currently it can't be done. I'll try to find an easier way than using extra field to add questions to users in addition to "Good points" and "Bad points".

You post in the wrong thread and I replied without checking it. This is the Classifieds thread, not the Reviews.

Thanks Chris. It seems to be a style issue.

Action-N 05-18-2013 08:01 PM

I'll have to check this out when I can focus on it. What I am interested in is a alternative for the two vb garage scripts for listing members cars. This looks great being part of the cms keeping it's style so I'm hoping to change some wording an modify it some. You might consider taking some features that direction like permanent listings or better yet porting it as a auto manager script.

edit: After finding this I saw your other addon for reviews that'd be a better choice to convert for what I'm doing. Great since I could actually use this script as is. The style your doing is great an how addons should be done. Please consider writing a addon modeled after the reviews as a auto manager. Thanks, great stuff

Have wrote somewhere before that when I'll have some free time I'll release 2 special editions for:
1.- Job seeking
2.- Auto Classifieds

Action-N 05-19-2013 04:57 PM

Those would be helpful additions, my interest is more like a directory / registry for simply displaying an item. If done generalized enough it could be used for any item or interest giving it a broader usability. Here are some examples of what I'm talking about. Thanks for your time as I read your not so much a coder anymore. I've tried to an can imagine the time involved with making addons.

Let it for the moment. Don't know why it does not works, while it works for Greek which is also a difficult language on showing correctly to the page.

In the next update I'll move the terms text to general settings.

Hi Christos

Thanks for your reply, I'm looking the same sort of thing you have released for CMS front page only for the forum home page. We don't use CMS. Here's a snap shot of our forum home page, I'm refereeing to the widgets on the right, it would be nice to add a classified one:

Hi Dave,

Without any meaning to appear smarty, those are calling Forum sidabar blocks. Widgets are reffering to CMS.
Yes, I can release something like this for forum sidebar, but tomorrow. Today I'm very busy.

Rich 05-20-2013 01:46 PM

Chris, my classifieds "Similar Classifieds" don't link to the ad. They link to my sites homepage, regardless as to what ad I am viewing. Any thoughts?

I also have a stupid question, how/where do I edit an existing ad that someone else posted?
