Unfortunately the original coder hasn't updated this since it was released last May. I wouldn't expect him to at this point since the way it currently works will not work in vBulletin 5.

Since you have a custom template you will probably need to find a coder to get it working for you and that'll take some $$$.

Several of my own concerns. If this is vbulletin default functionality, then the navigation system has gone a bit downhill.

In most navigation designs, when one hovers over the parent, the child menu opens up. That is a common standard and I am shocked reading that vBulletin apparently does not use that. At the minimum an option should be added to allow hovering to function to open menus.

The lower menu bar below the tabs should display the second level menu items there like the forum links do. I can care less about the forum submenu items if I am on my shop page.

Anyway to fix this?

Agreed. You should be able to have an item on the Navbar that's able to be selected & has a drop down menu.

Example, here's the Secretary of State website: http://www.state.gov/secretary/

You can click About State, & items below such as Mission Statement, etc..

S S0DEN 02-02-2013 02:06 AM

You can code a custom navbar and edit the .css to fit your site. I may still have the coding around some where.

wonderfulwat 02-03-2013 08:59 PM

http://www.yoursite.com - goes to the default tab
http://yoursite.com - goes to the forum (this isn't working properly)

If you disable the template "Make URLs absolute" it works fine, but is that template important for another area?

quikseps 02-17-2013 03:57 AM

I was just looking for a simple way to add the target value of "blank" to a link in Navigation Manager and found this. Works perfectly for my purposes. Installed and Thank You!

Baghira 03-03-2013 01:01 PM

Mhm... I am not able to translate anything... not permitted
Every other translation works

TorrentMan 03-03-2013 02:47 PM

Hello
Im new to this, but how to install it?

Thanks

Baghira 03-03-2013 04:26 PM

upload the content of the zip (content of upload folder) to the forum root and in vb admincp >> plugins & addons >> manage addons >> add addon install the xml file

GamerPerfection 04-01-2013 10:53 AM

Am I able to add My Profile as an option in the Navigation Manager using this? All i've been able to do is get it to edit profile, not view profile. Also wondering the same about moving the notifications in to the navigation bar.

bzcomputers 04-12-2013 03:47 AM

Anyone ever figure out how to get the white arrow to switch to the black arrow on navtab hover with this mod installed.

Seems like it should be an easy css edit but for the life of me I've tried but can't figure it out.

image displayed by default is at: /images/misc/arrow.png
want to switch to this on hover: /images/misc/black_downward_arrow.png

Please note:
This plugin will not work with 4.2.1 (just released to beta on vb.com)

sweetpotato 04-19-2013 05:06 PM

Just upgraded to 4.2.1 and couldn't remove this

Ozymandyus 04-19-2013 06:22 PM

As Ricktas said, the 4.2.1 update is incompatible with this mod. If you're depending on it, you're best off delaying on deploying the patch.

FakeMessiah666 04-19-2013 11:33 PM

I am running 4.2.1 and got this error:

Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 4.2.1:

smirkley 04-20-2013 12:13 AM

Better off not deploying 4.2.1 regardless,... looks like a bunch of minor style fixes and a pretty lame IE10 fix to make it look good.

Sorry, just frustrated,....still.

SilverBoy 04-24-2013 02:55 AM

Is there a way to let this great addon work perfectly on 4.2.1?
I need it for CMS sections tabs that are not available yet in the navigation manager.
Any help?

Not without some serious re-coding as the structure of the Nav Manager internals has changed a bit

SilverBoy 04-24-2013 04:10 AM

Badly I upgraded without check this thread, then get lost !!

Andreas, could you please update your mod?

If you interesting in this mod please help me to convince Andreas to make it compatible with 4.2.1.

SkyStryder 04-24-2013 06:21 PM

+2 here!

Installing on 4.2 PL3

No readme files or anything of that nature. No Instructions.

Which files go where?

If you can't work it out I suggest avoiding this add-on as the Author has gone walkabout.
Further it won't work in future versions of vB

There has been no support for this in nearly a year.
I think the Author was burned by vB over the vB German issue.

I have no plans to upgrade to 4.2.1 any time soon. I just got my 4.2 PL3 working perfectly.

I have installed all of the plugin's I am just curious where these files go.

Anyone?

kapii 04-25-2013 10:20 AM

Hey just a quick note, this mod is working on all vB4 versions and is supported, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=274972

SilverBoy 04-25-2013 07:35 PM

I solved the problem to let the product run under 4.2.1, the only problem that I have now is the conflict to make tab as drop-down menu, both of the new option in the navigation manager and the option in this mod stop working and I need it !!

But for CMS is works perfectly with sections.

I hope Andreas or any one can help me to fix this great product.

BTW, do you know any product to add second navbar to the forum?

Anyway, if there is any one want to run this product on his 4.2.1 version and don't care about drop-down menu tabs just let me know.

kapii 04-25-2013 07:43 PM

The mod I posted above, lets the droptab work in 4.2.1 and it also has a option for additional navbars on the site.

SilverBoy 04-25-2013 08:39 PM

This mod is the best one specially when dealing with CMS sections :).

initiald 04-27-2013 08:31 AM

Does anyone know how to fix custom icon on the tab.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...om+icon&page=7

This mod conflict and can't work with custom icon. Disable this mod and the icon works. Please what change do I need to make it compatible? Thank.

Update: NVM, just work around it.

Change both navbar_tabs_enchanced and navbar_tabs

Morrus 05-08-2013 02:51 PM

I have a problem where a custom tab added before uninstalling this product (to upgrade vbulletin to 4.2.1) is still there, but there's no reference to it in the standard vbulletin navigation manager. So I now have no way to remove that tab. Anyone got any ideas how I might go about fixing this?

You will have to do so through your database. Find the tab id in the database and delete it.

deadlySniper 05-15-2013 09:51 PM

I believe this mod is not working with 4.2.1 as of now. I have updated to it and my drop down menus have stopped working. The menu name stays but nothing drops down.

Just curious Ricktas, what was the vB German issue?

tbworld 05-15-2013 10:20 PM

I do not understand why users do not read the thread before trying out a mod. 'Ricktas' has graciously answered the "it's not working" question multiple times. I count 5 times within the last 25 posts.

'Ricktas' gets a gold star for his style and patience. I was about ready to use the '2x4' approach! :)

There is some commercial issue between vBSi and vB Germany (reseller) over vB5 -- not really relevant other than Andreas worked/works for vB Germany.
There was discussion on vB.com and on the vB Germany site

DannyC55 06-22-2013 08:23 PM

Thanks for this :)
Exactly what is needed for a staff portal!

Edit: Or not.. good feature, but broke my navigation layout. It's probably a CSS thing, but no time to start editing again.

Uninstalled.

6piston 07-24-2013 08:21 AM

Hi Andreas, awesome mod,

I hope you could update it for 4.2.1 so we can use the drop down :)

AusPhotography 07-25-2013 06:59 AM

4.2.1 has dropdown menu by default, we have uninstalled this and use 4.2.1 natively

As said before, it appears as if Andreas has lost interest in vB (with apparent reason)
